I admire the discipline with that thread - less is more. Very nice tie.

Great tying Nick!! Very nice. March Browns are my favorite also. From early spring into the late summer they produce in the creeks & streams in western NC for me. Thanks for great instruction on a classic!!

Thanks! I didn’t know you guys got an MB hatch like that in NC. Incredible!

Valla seems to like a longer wing. Along the years I too have evolved tying a longer wing on my Catskill dries too. And also the tail length.
That heavily barred wood duck feather you used really stands out, which I love!

I think the Turle knotwas used for eyeless hooks. It has a wrap behind the eye. Thisis another lovely Catskill fly by the way. :-)

A bleached hare's mask under fur makes a nice body ribbed with a furnace colored hackle stem

The wing feather looks more like a dyed mallard

Hey Gene, it does look different than your typical WD feather, I agree. Unless you have a skin it’s tough to find them cause there might only be one on either side. Sometimes none. Sometimes 2 if you’re lucky. It’s the barred wood duck right before the bars are made. Thanks
