you guys have asked for this for a while! hope you like it. some notes...
correction: at around 20:00 i talk about neapolitan ice cream and mixed up the flavors of the original vs americanized flavors. the original italian recipe (spumoni) is almond/pistachio (green), cherry (red), and vanilla (white). i said pistachio, chocolate, and vanilla by accident.
also, around 11:45, i was commenting that it was cool that the girl character was also a funeral director, but my timing was a bit off, so i said it right after max0r talked about the character having the most terrifying simps. so, it kinda sounds like i said "cool, extreme simps, i like it!" lol, no! my bad. i'll add a title in the future.

Fam that was the collab event that genshin did with KFC. They also did one with pizza hut and it was Eula and Amber in the commercial. BTW China exclusive so the West got flipped the bird and so did everyone else.

The game has a rootkit-level protection system, which records all software you're running on your computer at the same time as the game. You know a funny part? Sometimes, this system blocks legitimate users from playing the game and when that happens, they turn it off until they can patch it. In the current version of the game, it's turned off, so I can play Genshin Impact on my Steam Deck, which I otherwise wouldn't be able to.

Max0r's Incorrect Summaries are all gems, but his editing is so chaotic it's easy to miss some of his jokes, I recommend rewinding a few seconds each time you pause just so you don't miss anything. Great reaction as always, I still highly recommend TheRussianBadger if you haven't seen him already. 🙂

Maxor is always a treat, his editing just keeps getting better with every video. His Ultrakill, Metal gear revengeance and Elden ring videos are particularly good. Ssethtzeentach is another very popular video game reviewer, his videos aren't the seizure inducing light festivals of maxors but they have similar style and humour. Albeit Sseth is a lot edgier and more dark at times.
As someone that watched Sseth's vid on Space Station 13, I can vouch for that.

The game doesn't display your ip, it displays something called uid
The hilichurls aren't just sentient, it's implied that they are people turned into monsters and later on we find out it's even worse
Some of the glitches max0r used got patched
Kokomi(mermaid) is super strong, people used to say she was weak

Kokomi became viable only after the addition of Dendro element

The game has added a lot of story and lore, and a lot of it is pretty good. And without spoiling much, yes the hili's have backstory.
Also, he survived the space flight fall because plunge attacks wont kill you if you arent almost dead. So sometimes its better to plunge when low stamina. And no, He managed to pause the game as he was about to make impact with hu tao, so he was technically waiting in midair for several in game hours
I did not expect to go into this video with the reward of hearing a teaser of Lila's vocal range. Bravo!
Noelle is so non-existent in the story that Lila didn't even recognized her. 💀
aside for her hangouts and being in your party I don't think she exists in-game outside of time-limited events (and even then, they have to involve Mondstadt for a chance of her showing up she's basically just cameos in those). (same problem as Fischl and Albedo honestly).

To be honest, Genshin is an unironically fun and well designed game with some pretty well-written characters.
The only real "problems" with the game are the lack of an endgame(which isn't really a problem, because you can just play another game until the next update) and some people being uncomfortable with l0lis(which isn't a problem because they aren't s3xualized in-game, and you don't have to play with them).
Also, that "In The Mountain" quest can eat my nuts.
Other than that, I'd say it's a pretty good game to play if you want to get sucked into a cool world for a few hours and just explore.
The thought the main problem with the game is the police state stealing your credit card information.
...so the predatory business practices and gambling are not a problem for you?

If Genshin wasn't a Gacha game I imagine I would be in just as deep as Maxor, everything else about Genshin seems amazing.
Honestly yeah, it Looks pretty cool but to be truthful the part that really worries me are the level 0 kernal permissions. With those if someone on the other end wants to read anything on or write anything into your computer, they can, And there’s nothing you can do about it
Speaking as someone who’s played this game extensively and enjoyed most of it greatly, I assure you. The Gacha system is only one of the many flaws it has, and some of them are so bad that even if you get past the Gacha, they might just turn you off from playing it.

Honestly, the story in Genshin ranges from ok to Amazing... But I've never really seen it be bad.. That is the reason why it keeps consistently growing

I've been low-key watching all of your videos. I stumbled upon one where you reacted to Internet Historian, I love his contents! You have a really nice voice and a good sense of humor. I vibe a lot with your contents.
As a Genshin player myself I'm low-key happy you reacted to Maxor's video. I joined late to the game, around the time The Chasm was patched. I can confidently say from the patch where they added Enkanomiya and forward, you'll enjoy the story more. That is if you're a lore enthusiast.
Even though I joined late, I watched friends played Genshin from day1 and I remembered when a lot of them quit or took a break after Inazuma. As a lore enthusiast I can understand why. The story and pacing in inazuma sucks. The puzzles were annoying. Everything is out to kill you and it's not even mobs. The environmental hazzards itself sometimes makes me rage quit.
But after Enkanomiya, The Chasm, eventually Sumeru, I really enjoyed myself. One thing about Sumeru tho, it's big. Very big. With maze-like underground. I'd suggest when you arrived at Sumeru do not Speedrun every world quests. The Aranyaka Quest alone took me days but that's bcs I don't want to be overloaded by information. A lot of world building lore in Sumeru.
Lastly, if you do give Genshin another try my best advice would be, go slow. Play it at your own pace. Do not speedrun or you'll burnout.

It’s both. It’s a virus that enters your central nervous system like rabies.
Then it’s also a *fun* game with lots of lore and the best music in any video game I’ve ever heard (I am biased, but the music is actually what got me into it)
You can start with his Devil May Cry, Doom, and Ultrakill videos. If you’re curious to his first ever videos like this, it is his Incorrect Summary of Ace Combat 7, although it is way more reserved compared to now
Kokomi is pretty good. Mine is configured more for healing. I use her for groups all the time.

Imagine my shock when i found out Vegeta's VA in funimation has a casting couch where he bangs aspiring female VA's only to not give them the job afterwards.
Been a busy week! Max0r is absolutely hilarious and his videos are the definition of "Seizure warning", and a 'little' chaotic for sure. Never played Genshin much myself, only for a handful of hours a year or so ago, but some of the characters (Venti) are definitely familiar through *other* content, and I'm not ashamed to admit it! Rather hard to avoid it due to the popularity of both the game and the characters. It seems interesting enough, but I never felt like it was my style of game. Thank you for the video as always Lila, hope you have a great rest of the week!
(Also have to recommend Max0r's ULTRAKILL videos, the game and the videos are phenomenal. The game even has Gianni Matragrano as the voice of Gabriel, so it's a must play)

There's a side-quest where a little girl finds a book in the library that explains how to talk to Hilichurls. You have to sneak up to a hilichurl so that you can see if it works and the girl ACTUALLY TALKS TO A HILICHURL! Then there's the follow-up that max0r has in the video where YOU talk to a hillichurl camp!
THEN THE SIDE QUEST ENDS AND IT'S NEVER EVER BROUGHT UP OR MENTIONED AGAIN!
The game actually got me to care about Hilichurls for a solid 10 minutes and then went "okay, you can go back to killing them all again" and I got so upset that I quit the game.

honestly, even before Honkai: Star Rail came out, I much preferred the linear combat and story in Honkai Impact. I don't know, I guess I just like the Honkai games more
Oh bless your poor soul, there was a hectic chaos happened in China McDonald’s that customer exceeded the capacity in 1 restaurants when it promote Genshin and gifting a bloody Chicken Wings Glider . And yes they did use the Genshin Characters to promote it.
The story in the earlier regions and by default character stories might seem quite bad pacing wise, but I reckon it has gotten a lot better now. Didn't expect myself to be so engrossed in the story and really enjoying the character stories.

funny enough most of genshin initial idea came from the success of the open world mode from Honkai impact(all new mechanics and idea from their newer games they already used and test it somehow in a limited event in honkai impact, like they test out how they can work with it before deciding on making a full game based on the idea), and 100% zelda's BotW had big influence in a lot of the game play, but i kinda like how they are very distinct from each other.
Funny, I questioned more about myself while playing Frostpunk than anything I've beheld of Genshin Impact.

If you eat on KFC at that time it give you special code and after using it it give you special wings in game that you can’t get any other way(also now it’s impossible to get because it was time limited event lol)
5:48 this is referring to a kfc collab genshin had a bit back, but it was only in china. as a result of the collab and limited time items exclusive to genshin aka 90 pins in total in every kfc, people set up tents outside of kfc’s and it was so crowded police had to get involved. even more recently there was a pizza hut collab but i think they learned from their mistakes and it was only an online one
