@@noralavender3798 yea it took me a while to realize the show didn’t mention him getting SA’d. They made him relate/speak on it in passing like it was a conscious action he deliberately made and seeked. Smh. One of my only flaws for his storyline.

They could never make me hate Amerie. She wasn’t great at handling everything with Malakai but she was 100% gaslighted by him. Especially because they went on a date and because of his confusion he pretty much ditched her. If you are confuse, and not ready to share it with a partner, at least leave them alone. Don’t string them up.

I love the two different reactions to this episodes ending, the combined stress and worry if he went with chook and the hope and joy if he went with Nana and Darren. I think that was everyone’s internal debate (it was at least mine!)
Also please remember Darren is non-binary, not just a guy. They use they/them pronouns.
I recommend watching eyewitness if you haven't! Also someone mentioned dead boy detectives, it's recent and I agree that you might enjoy it!

I don't know if you guys take recommendations in your comments (let me know if not), but I just binged Everything Now on netflix and it is criminally underrated. IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD and it gives similar vibes to hearbreak high. Warning tho, the main character battles with anorexia

Interesting fact about AFLM (men’s AFL), there’s never been a past or current player come out as gay or bi in the history of the game. There is a ‘pride round’ every year and lots of performative supportive stuff, but just very recently we’ve had two players suspended for using homophobic slurs on the field, and a documentary recently explored the issue more generally if you’re interested in watching:

@@angietoonz6605 they meant bc a lot of gay/bi men use women just so they can explore themselves and figure out their sexuality. The point is break up with your girlfriend if you’re having mixed feelings of wanting to explore with men. Too many women have been used, hurt, manipulated, and abused all bc of “our journeys” I broke up with my girlfriend before I wanted to explore more. Others can too. Honesty and being open about it to her is one thing. Exploring your sexuality behind her back is cheating and should stop being normalized.
