There is an ice area in the world with "blood flow" coming out of it due to an over abundance of iron present. The lake beneath the ice was tested and is millions of years old and still has bacteria in it. That prehistoric bacteria is currently unknown to science.

@@NateSchulte agreed, it's not known whether the bacteria could be beneficial or dangerous, and the more the ice melts the more bacteria is released. Literally a plot in a horror movie. That stuff has been frozen in that lake around the ice age. Also somewhere else to stay away from is Lake Baikal in Russia. A Navy dive team exploring the lake claimed to have seen something , and whatever it was caused 3 divers to die and the remaining four survivors refused to discuss what they saw. Loch Ness (which claims to harbor a monster) is about 745 feet deep and 10,000 years old. Lake Baikal is about 5000 feet deep and 25 million years old.

Well dog lovers, what else. Most filmmakers don't have the balls to make dogs get killed. Out of so many disaster or crisis films u have watched, how many of them where a dog actually dies (at least the death is shown to audience)? Pretty much 1 out of 10. In this case, the dog died so the filmmakers thought maybe at least let the hybrid dog live, regardless the potential of it destroying society or at least causing a huge disaster.
I was hoping the dude who got bitten by a mosquito would turn into a huge flying human mosquito hybrid.
What I learned from this movie is that one politician lady had more massive balls than the entire rest of the crew combined.
So refreshing.

Hol' up, if the hiker was saved via extracting the creature from her leg; I'd say it's safe to assume the same could have been done for the dog. Though, it would all come down to the time and duration of infection. Meaning the dog could've been screwed either way. Though, it still brings to mind that they could've possibly saved the dog.

regardless, it's safe to assume that the bacteria doesn't form a cyst, which means any of the bacteria left after removal will just reinfect the newly vulnerable wound.
so you either get it all, or you haven't gotten any at all.
