I know you don't watch other TH-cam videos but van or car life sounds like something you're perfect for. Since you're already a minimalist and you can quit that job that you hate and live more free. Cheap RV Living is an excellent channel. I'm preparing for it and can't wait until I can transition.

I have many friends who have done this..."but it was my mom's, aunt's" and so on. People stay stuck in a place they don't want to be because of their stuff. They can't live in a smaller, more affordable place because their stuff won't fit. I can pick up and move, much like you, at a moments notice if need be. My attachment to things is so different. All this gives me mental space to concentrate on my health, both mentally and physically. Good on you for addressing fear. Thank you for your video. Listening to you brought back a childhood memory. I recall reading a book about a girl who had just one doll and wishing that I also had just one doll. I remember feeling overwhelmed by all of my toys as a child. Now, as a forty-something, I can give myself the gift of simplicity that I craved as a child.

Recently I have decided on a low/ no buy year for personal items such as clothing. Sure, the financial benefits are great, but I am actually doing it to reprogram myself and undercover the person I am underneath all the buying and browsing and wanting. Your message has definitely helped me make this decision, so truly thank you for all that you share here, Alicia. 🙏✨️ A video where you count your items would be fun, as would a video about your process of decluttering the opinions of other people.
I absolutely LOVE this video! It spoke right to my soul ✨ Thank you, friend, for being a guiding light in this world. What I love most about your content is that with each and every video, I get closer to becoming my authentic self. I’ll definitely be rewatching this one multiple times to get the most out of it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤❤❤️
I know you have a video on finances already but it would be interesting to see how much money you saved from opting out of the consumerist lifestyle. You mentioned you don't invest and you only have one account. But topics like learning about how not owning a home has been beneficial for you would be interesting like a part 2 video. That is if you have any more information to add, if not no problem :)
Such a great video. I found your perspectives on fear particularly interesting. I am in a process of decluttering. Not the first! But this time something feels different and there’s an internal motor pushing inside to get to a deeper place without all the stuff.
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and caring about the earths health. I hope you reach many more people. You’ve changed my outlook for sure, every time I’m at the store feeling excess temptation, I say what would Alicia do! ❤
Yes, please do a video about decluttering the opinions of others. That would be very helpful for me. Thank you for your content. It is making a difference in my life.
Very inspiring Alicia!🥰 I have noticed that the less I have the less I feel I need. Eventually, I want to move back to Europe and I want to do it with only couple suitcases. Even though that´s very down the road but feeling that every day I need less is empowering me 🥰
Thank you Alicia 🙏🏼 As someone who carries around so much to feel safe and cover various eventualities yet yearns to feel lighter and free, this really helped me 🥰 All of this video has been just what I needed to hear. Shoulder pain from backpack too so your advice is gratefully received about what you carry. I love how you are so true to yourself and you have much to teach us. I'm 58 and still learning who I am, after so many years of fitting in to others' wishes, I'm free of that now but more sitting and silence needed 🙂 ❤
Yes count your items and share with us please! I get the idea of the deeper meaning not being about a specific template such as x # of things, but it’s inspiring and helpful to see specific examples of how this actually plays out for someone. I love neurotic minimalism stuff though because I’m also an extreme minimalist, which is probably one reason I love your channel, so I’m biased!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the world, the future, health, self love and more. A lot of what you say really resonates with me and I’m tweaking my life a little every day towards minimalism. Decluttering things as well as routines and thought patterns. Having a husband and kids plus living in the north part of Sweden it’s certainly another ball game but still manageable. I wish your way of living will become the new normal.
You have such great insight! I wish you had a podcast, I would totally listen to every episode. I am very sensitive to how people talk and podcasts are often stuffed with jokes and all kinds of special effects etc. I hate it. I bet if you had a podcast, I would listen to it all the time!
I agree- so many things are over stimulating these days. Often if I want to enjoy TH-cam content without visual stimulus I’ll just turn my phone over (so I don’t get tempted lol.) 💜
I would love a video where you explain/present all the different one use items you creatively make multipurpose! Just like your robe in one of your last videos! Just an idea 🤗 love your videos , keep on inspiring us 🫡
Alicia, another great video. I couldn't agree more with all you said here. As far as the item count, I don't need to see it because I think it becomes a way to judge someone's authenticity as a minimalist. Also, we compare ourselves with others and if they have more things than you it can create guilt in them because they have more things . Well done on the video.
Thank you Mark- and I definitely agree with you on that. It can fall into templates and comparison, which is not the message I want to promote, and why I’ve avoided “the count” up until this point. I’ve shown every single item I have down to my dental floss lol so I think that’s enough.. 😄💜
I admit that I was lying to myself about not using my time and resources shopping because I was going to thrift stores/garage sales. That is still as you call it dealing with the hungry ghost. It’s just like a bad relationship bungee. You know it is out of balance but don’t give yourself the space to really do the inquiry to get to deep truth. The excavation deep truth is the work that sets us free from unhealthy behaviors. The willingness to sit in silence is not a dark cave, it is a luminous cave once our eyes adjust. ❤️just sharing something I’m working on with my treasure hunting addiction of sorts. Maybe I’m the treasure I’m looking for and not anything out there
I agree with you! All true! 😊 I’ve been a minimalist for 8 years now but keep getting more and more inspired from other minimalists doing the same thing. Great video! I still struggle with my wardrobe and putting cute pieces together during the summertime. Maybe you can help? 🙏
That’s awesome you are always inspired to grow 🌟 As for summertime- stick to light and easy pieces that are comfortable and in colors that can all be mixed and matched. And don’t be afraid to outfit repeat! No one really ever notices anyway 😉
Thank you for giving me the reminder that that on the other side of fear is freedom….ive been fearful of letting an item go and released it today. It was great to let it go and felt such relief once I took the leap of faith. It was definitely a test and Your advice was helpful!
Don’t count the items. I’ve seen videos where extreme minimalists get obsessed with a number and then if they get a hair tie they spend 20 minutes angsting over the decision. I’ve really seen this!
Minimalism is so appealing and fascinating. The entire video was captivating. I soaked it up like a sponge. It all resonates. I get and it and will work on making my life -my own-. Not what societies idea of it is. Not what corporate america wants it to look like. Rather , what I want it to look like. I am in the process already of doing so, albeit slowly. I have a minimalist wardrobe. Not 'extremely' so, but I do go through and curate it. I sort it twice per year. If it hasn't been worn, I donate it. If something comes up that I truly need, I thrift it whenever possible. So, my foot is in the door, if you will. It feels good to ignore fast fashion and feel that pressure that comes with it. I look for comfort, practicality, fit, and hey if it's cute too that's a bonus! Anyway, I am starting to ramble! I love your videos and your outlook! Keep them coming! They're truly inspiring!
I am so amazed how I agree with everything you share. I’m not totally able at this time to transition to live the same as you… but I think I would if I could. I definitely want to be closer to alignment with these same values! 😊❤
I remember being shamed one time by a guy in my 20’s for not having a lot of clothes in my closet which spiraled me into spending all my money on clothes when I could have been resting on the weekends from working 50 hours at the hospital instead of shopping.
Another great video girl! Wanted to say thanks for sharing your journey and continuing to be authentic in your personal wisdoms. There was a light beam in a diamond crystal shard shape that started to form around your torso/heart chakra- almost seems kismet as you are truly speaking from a pure space of passion and originality. Love and hugs always to you my friend :)
Yes please count your belongings that would be awesome to know! I love your videos, they are so calming and addicting at the same time! I wanna be an extreme minimalist someday and a vegan!!
While some people may look at the background behind you and see a “lack,” I see peace. Thank you. I loved listening to you in this video while doing a meditation of sorts, coloring. I hope that makes sense. I find it relaxing too.
Hello Alicia! and thank you for this video which resonates with me. Since I followed you on YT I change day by day, you gave me the trigger to get rid of it... I feel freer! Thanks again !!!!😍😍😍😍
Thank you for the inspirational video. I have applied many of the practices you shared to both my personal and professional life. I would love to see a video about how you declutter your concern for other people’s opinions. Additionally, I'm interested in a video where you count the number of things you have-I’m sure it’s an impressively small number. I appreciate the great messages you share. ✨💜✨
So glad you are finding some insight here Molly and making positive changes in your life 🌟 I am planning a video talking about the opinions of others 😉💕
If you are starting to get that feeling of boredom, lol try doing diamond art it's so fun, they make different sizes, of all kinds of pictures, the small ones will be perfect for you,, and they make small sticker type ones to stick in your spiral, and cup coaster one too, but try it it's really fun!!
You are so absolutely right and you have a special gift for expressing your wisdom in clear words to us 🙏🏼 For me, minimalism is normal and all that unnecessary stuff that limits your freedom is abnormal. Let's hope that one day humanity will realize the consumer madness and start living in harmony with nature and mother earth.
Oh the overwhelm- I’m in a constant state. Gym 7x a week at 4:30, busy job, working on second degree, always reading a book or two… I love all of these things but I’ve started to notice that I can’t sit still. This is my sign to start carving out a little time to just sit still and not always be attending to something. I love learning about so many things, but I think I have too many inputs.
A lot of really good points. Thank you for sharing. Item counts definitely aren't the point and we aren't here to compare ourselves to others, BUT it would be interesting to hear what that number looks like.
Hello Alicia... happy to hear you..I agree with what you are saying here, and thank you for re-reminding me, about doing nothing.. really appreciate your message....deatra
Do you have a video on how minimalism affects your friendships? Id love to hear how your lifestyle affects your friendships because I noticed a lot of friendships have consumerism as the glue of it. If they want to hang out, spending money is involved.
Great topic idea. In a few vids I’ve touched on how my friendships are way deeper than surface things/consumerism, but I’ll see if I can make a video specifically dedicated to this. 💙
I don't own many things. But I see how many things I've posted on a second hand website. There are so many things that I can rid of! Since more than 1 year I am jobless (it was my decision). And I am just enjoying sitting in the garden with my laptop. I don't need anything but my calmness before I find that job which would suit me.
Wow - I just found your channel and I absolutely love what you have to say about having so many things in our homes. I am starting to part with some of my 'things' that are there for what reason I ask myself? I absolutely LOVE that you can pack your whole apartment into your car when /if you move, thus bypassing the expense of hiring a mover. AMAZING
Impressing people you realize you don’t even like even like is a very sick game. Luckily in your 40’s, you really come in to yourself to where you truly don’t care to get validation from people that don’t even matter to your life in a loving way
Just thinking that if I had to compare you to one of the classic board games of my childhood you wouldn’t be chutes and ladders, you’d be twister! All that room you have to play it! Your love of movement! And it’s only 2 pieces!! 😂
How many hours a week do you work bartending? Is it a day job or night? I want to hear about your job. I have 3 jobs right now. I do caretaking, house cleaning and have a job catering too.
WOW! o Thank you for being a leader! Humans are naturally followers. Thank you again for showing a different way o This hit hard I am existing I am bored😢 o Also malls I think it replaces or stands in for community, the village. o Weirdo!? I also name and talk to my inanimate objects.😂 o Consumming too much- putting too much into a schedule. o My parents went Art Deco until mom and I broke our toes on glass and metal tables! Lol. o Keeping up with the Jones but not your self really loving your stuff and your life instead. Your so right about listening to your voice, The Pull, the recipe. o I am working on my reasons to be fearful - Yes slay your dragons! o And right back to consumerism, just imbibing way too much😮 again thank you for showing a different path!
Sounds like some things are really hitting home for you. Taking that first step to recognizing the patterns in your life that need attention, and then committing to making new choices is not always easy and avoided by many. So I applaud you for this 💛🌟
@@Exploravore I will watch it. I am buying, returning, and selling constantly. So tiring. I have been practicing minimalismish for 7 years but can't take it to the next level of extreme minimalism and stop the cycle of chaos. My mind wants extreme minimalism I just cant get there.
@DC-ef8op you can get there. Expressing your intent is the first step. I also have a video titled “How I cured my shopping addiction to become an ultra minimalist” that may help you as well 💛
@ms.construed1305 stopping the input of consumption is a great first step. Start tackling the decluttering small at first, letting go of obvious things you don’t need. As more and more is released, you will be able to see more things that you can let go of as well 💜
Do you have a Vacum? I know that’s random, but notice you have carpet. I have a roomba and love it bc it is quiet and doesn’t scare the bejeesus out of my cat. It also is my catalyst everyday to do my lil cleaning routine everyday😉
@@ExploravoreI just got one of those push vacuums. You know, the ones they have a restaurants sometimes? No electricity, quiet, small and easily stored. I just got one and it cleans my floors SO well and no big vacuum for a tiny apartment.
I would also like to know how many items you own. One thing that is helping me tremendously is counting and writing down each item that I’m letting go of. I own 50 years of collections. So this helps me let go more easily. I’m curious to know how many items I had and will have one day. It’s become like a game to me.😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤
Your bracelet almost like a tattoo the way you styled it. I was just talking to my vegan brother about what would people do if they didn’t have tv? My brother said, “live better lives”. Making the choice to not own a tv is an act of rebellion these days
It’s more fun to be weird. You are living a free life. I love it.
Weird and free forever 💛✨
Every single thing you said resonates with me, it’s as if you’re voicing what I have been silently trying to figure out for some time. I loved “on the other side of fear is freedom”, so so true☺️Thanks 🙏🏻
Glad you found some resonance here today 🙏🏻🌸
I know you don't watch other TH-cam videos but van or car life sounds like something you're perfect for. Since you're already a minimalist and you can quit that job that you hate and live more free. Cheap RV Living is an excellent channel. I'm preparing for it and can't wait until I can transition.
I have total respect for people that live that lifestyle. Personally long term I want to live in a cabin near forest and mountains :)
Great video! What I really resonated with was your number five, the fear aspect. Internally, without the "artillery" as you put it (so perfect) I was able to think and rely on my life experience, my creativity and the strength that I have inside. I was able to breathe and heal in a way I could not before. Externally, just the physical aspect of having less makes you less afraid. If you need to move, you can move without spending thousands of dollars on movers to cart around furniture that you don't even like to begin with.
I believe the most meaningful and important thing one human can do for another is to help them feel less afraid.
Very well said- thank you for sharing this 🙏🏻💛
Definitely would love an item count!
I’ve been minimalist since I was a young kid. Then went through a stage of wanting more as a young adult. Now in my 40’s I am becoming an extreme minimalist and am so inspired by your videos! Such good motivation to continue on my journey!

I love diamond art! It’s my one exception to minimalism
You are so right! Whats normal? In my world you are the most normal. ❤
😏💕
Preach Sister. We are the normal one's! The minority are the sane.
‼️
You are so absolutely right and you have a special gift for expressing your wisdom in clear words to us 🙏🏼
For me, minimalism is normal and all that unnecessary stuff that limits your freedom is abnormal. Let's hope that one day humanity will realize the consumer madness and start living in harmony with nature and mother earth.
Just keep spreading the light 🙏🏻✨💚
Its an inspiration listening to you. 🙏 💖
Thank you 🙏🏻✨
You are amazing! Keep going as you are! ☀️🩵
Thank you 🙏🏻🦋
You are brave, smart, and gorgeous. All an example to follow!
Thank you for these kind words my friend 🙏🏻🦋
Very true.
Consumption is going too far.
I count them. 216 items as for now. I really want to know how much ultra minimalist has. Liberating to not have excess.
Nice! Yes it is so freeing..
Learning and being passionate about what you do is awesome. But yes finding some time here and there for stillness to recharge can do wonders 🩵✨
Reducing to 6 times a week at the gym or if are a woman [can't tell] and have a period, taking a rest during your period would help!
Thank you again ❤
Great video as always xx😊
Thankyou you are amazing i going to try i love your living ❤
Lean into freedom! 🦋
A lot of really good points. Thank you for sharing. Item counts definitely aren't the point and we aren't here to compare ourselves to others, BUT it would be interesting to hear what that number looks like.
Thank you for giving me something to think about.
I love to listen to you, thanks for sharing Alicia / Alisha / Alysia
Thank you 🙏🏻💛 …and first spelling is correct ;)
@@Exploravore yes indeed, ps I haven't been wearing underpants aaahaha
@AvantiSeaHawk hell yes welcome to the anti panty club 😏😏
I'm in the midst of another purge! I like the idea of one bowl!
I, too, am playing a different game! Thanks for the inspirational content! 😚💛✨️
Awesome! Keep following what your soul is calling you to ✨💙✨
I actually did declutter a charging cord it turned out I needed. 😂. But it’s ok! I can buy the thing again once the charge runs out. Not a tragedy.
Haha yes it’s rarely a tragedy 😉
I love this! Thank you!
You are most welcome. Glad you enjoyed 💙✨
Hello Alicia... happy to hear you..I agree with what you are saying here, and thank you for re-reminding me, about doing nothing.. really appreciate your message....deatra
Hello my friend Deatra nice to see you here as always. We are all here to help each other 🩵✨
Do you have a video on how minimalism affects your friendships?
Yes manifesting from a place of calm is the best thing 💚🌟
Play your own game ✨️💓
ALWAYS 🔥🔥
Yes please count your items!
Thank you for another great video!
You are very welcome 🙏🏻🌷
Wow - I just found your channel and I absolutely love what you have to say about having so many things in our homes. I am starting to part with some of my 'things' that are there for what reason I ask myself? I absolutely LOVE that you can pack your whole apartment into your car when /if you move, thus bypassing the expense of hiring a mover. AMAZING
Hi Tracey welcome to the family here! 💚🌟 Glad you are finding some inspiration ✨
Hi, can you tell us why you sleep on the floor on a Japanese mattress? And what your experiences are?
Review vid coming soon ;)
Love this ✨🩵✨💯
I couldn't agree more 💞
Impressing people you realize you don’t even like even like is a very sick game. Luckily in your 40’s, you really come in to yourself to where you truly don’t care to get validation from people that don’t even matter to your life in a loving way
Yes amen ✨✨
Thank you for sharing. I got some Fiji Lemongrass Tangerine soap and I love it!!!!
Awesome!! 😃
Your hair looks nice 😊
Thank you 🌷
Share, share, share 💖🇦🇺
Just thinking that if I had to compare you to one of the classic board games of my childhood you wouldn’t be chutes and ladders, you’d be twister! All that room you have to play it! Your love of movement! And it’s only 2 pieces!! 😂
Hahaha good call! Loved twister! 😄
Great video.Thanks 😘🥰
You are welcome!
Great talk❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you 🙏🏻🌟
deep thoughts
How many hours a week do you work bartending? Is it a day job or night? I want to hear about your job. I have 3 jobs right now. I do caretaking, house cleaning and have a job catering too.
Three is a lot! …I work full time, 40 hours per week. It’s at a restaurant, so luckily no late nights mostly days 🩷
WOW! o Thank you for being a leader! Humans are naturally followers. Thank you again for showing a different way
o This hit hard I am existing I am bored😢 o Also malls I think it replaces or stands in for community, the village.
So I applaud you for this 💛🌟
Great video 😊
Thank you 💚💚
Especially that I'm healing from hip replacement surgery...
I hope you continue to heal well 🙏🏻✨
Great video! ❤
Thank you 🌸
Please teach me the way my stuff stresses me out so much.
If you are new to minimizing my video “Top 10 Decluttering Tips from a Minimalist Pro” might help you get started 💜
I also have a video titled “How I cured my shopping addiction to become an ultra minimalist” that may help you as well 💛
I have 2 disorganized rooms.. full. And I have not bought anything for 10 months.
@ms.construed1305 stopping the input of consumption is a great first step. Start tackling the decluttering small at first, letting go of obvious things you don’t need. As more and more is released, you will be able to see more things that you can let go of as well 💜
👍😉I have downsized my subscriptions on TH-cam to yourself and Roaming Wild Rosie 😊,one of your best videos / content
Thank my friend Felix. Always nice to see you here 💙🌟
From one " wierdo" to another, i wouldnt want to be any other way❤
Hell yes- me neither. Weirdos unite 🔥💚🔥
Do you have a Vacum? I know that’s random, but notice you have carpet. I have a roomba and love it bc it is quiet and doesn’t scare the bejeesus out of my cat. It also is my catalyst everyday to do my lil cleaning routine everyday😉
I don’t have one yet- but will likely (begrudgingly) have to get one lol
You could probably borrow a friends rumba😉the positive is it’s compact.
@@ExploravoreI just got one of those push vacuums. You know, the ones they have a restaurants sometimes? No electricity, quiet, small and easily stored. I just got one and it cleans my floors SO well and no big vacuum for a tiny apartment.
@palepoet ooh. This is a good idea. lol thank you 💜
❤
Do you have a full length mirror? I think I might get rid of mine.
I do not. My apartment came with mirrored closets, but in other places I just went without.
I would also like to know how many items you own. One thing that is helping me tremendously is counting and writing down each item that I’m letting go of. I own 50 years of collections. So this helps me let go more easily. I’m curious to know how many items I had and will have one day. It’s become like a game to me.😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤
That’s a cool practice!
Your bracelet almost like a tattoo the way you styled it. I was just talking to my vegan brother about what would people do if they didn’t have tv? My brother said, “live better lives”. Making the choice to not own a tv is an act of rebellion these days
💯💯 …and I feel like my bracelet is a bit of a tattoo- it feels very much a spiritual part of me, and I can’t commit to a real one anyway 😅
Normal is boring.
Agreed 😝
My daughter’s first tattoo was „normal people scare me“ from the series „American Horror Stories“. I love it and think it is so true sometimes.
@Jackiex71 hah love that 💜🔥
Can someone explain what this premiere upload is?😂 I just don’t get it
It’s just to show that the video is new ;)
count how many things you own
Thanks for your video Alicia I’m listening in the car!😊🩵
Love this one thank you I’ll be coming back to it a few time to really get it in my head 🫶🏽🫶🏽
Glad you enjoyed 💚💚
