    I applied these 14 techniques to many different channels here 👉 th-cam.com/video/fYNs1mnLRxw/w-d-xo.html This way you can see how these techniques work in your niche or at your channel size! There are timestamps in the description that allow you to jump to the channels that interest you the most.

    Dear one thing is so clear now that You tube has its own likes and dislikes I am so amazed to see that no matter how relevant your SEO is but You tube shows other people videos. Its okay i can understand that channel authority, subs and views etc play their part. Authoritative channels have their right to dominate search if their video is related to the topic in any way. But often You tube show totally irrelevant videos at top this is sad. Particularly I don't like to see today that You tube sent my video on 2nd number from number 1 and put totally irrelevant video on top. This was the search termI found from morning fame there was no video on topic so in one sense the demand was fulfilled. Also I made it so beautifully. For this video I am 100 % convinced that .its my spot on number 1 and You Tube should consider the efforts of new people as well.

      Excellent insights Zindagi! For your further studies, it really helps to distinguish between the different algorithms that TH-cam has because they work totally different. Here is an overview of them if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/3sB2C4kb4lU/w-d-xo.html

    Hey Nico!
    On the 2:53 example, the search term "how to upload videos on youtube mobile" has very low search volume (as I can see in Google Trends), and this is the biggest problem I am facing right now: I find a low competitive search term, but the search volume is always very low! How should I address this problem?
    Thanks again!

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, Morningfame estimates a pretty high search volume. That said, Google Trends does not have data for all search terms and this may be one that it doesn’t track because its search volume is below a certain minimum. Why vidIQ says zero I don’t know. But if you are curious why the tools don’t agree, check out this video in which I explain how the different tools deal with search volume: th-cam.com/video/2BC5xb9TefA/w-d-xo.html But in any way, don’t worry about search volume too much. Focus on search terms that you have a good chance to rank for and with them you start growing your channel until you can rank for more competitive search terms that usually have higher search volume as well. But first, you need to get your foot in the door.

    • @manualdocerebro9467
      @manualdocerebro9467 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Morningfame Nico, thank you very much for kindly answering my questions! So if I understood it well, it is better to rank for low competition-low volume than not ranking for high competition-high volume? Thanks again!

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly. If the competition is too high you won‘t rank and then any amount of search volume doesn‘t matter. So focus on competition first.

    Nico, like I mentioned on a previous comment, Morningfame has got to be one of the most intuitive and complete SEO researching tool I have ever tried. I already saved some very interesting topics resulting from your Keyword Research tool and I'm going to try them out on my next videos right away. I'm seriously considering going for a Plus version if I see some results after publishing the next few videos.
    However, I have some questions regarding on how to procede after we find some suitable keywords for our channel. Let's say that after using the Keyword Research tool, and after finding some good topics for your channel you find 4 keywords that are a good for optimization (Topics A, B, C, D). What should you do next if you are looking for ranking in an Evergreen content scenario? Should you:
    1) Focus on just one Keyword (Topic A, for example) and do several videos in a row, where you try different approaches regarding duration, video, thumbnails, etc. and see how that turns out?
    2) Should you space them out and go from one Keyword to another? For example (Topic A - Monday, Topic B - Thursday, etc) and wait some time to see how they play out?
    3) You should focus on one Keyword, then wait for the results and then refine your SEO according to the TH-cam Analytics and Reach Information?
    Once again, thank you for your excellent channel, work and amazingly complete Keyword Research Tool.

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is music in my ears buddy. I am glad that you enjoy my tool! The best thing you can do is to a video about each topic that you found and then see how your audience responds. SEO is of course an important part but the choice of your video topic also impacts your existing audience (subscribers). In the end it’s about building and intuitive understanding of what works best overall. So make the videos and observe. Therefore go for 2) to have enough space between the videos so that your subscribers have enough time to watch - well, listen - to all of the videos. If you publish them too quickly they might skip some of the new videos and that makes comparing them more tricky. 2) is a good middle. Imho 1) is going too much into the details at least for now and 3) is more cautious than necessary. Fingers crossed!

      @@Morningfame it was a little hard to understand at first. I knew the topic I wanted to work on, but your tool kept pointing me in another direction or telling me my chosen niche wasn't the correct perspective. You know my channel is about amateur radio. Creating that video from an amateur radio perspective, would not have netted the same results. The keyword tool offered dome highly searched suggestions (preparedness). For the first time I completely trusted the tool, and changed the perspective accordingly. I omitted most of the talk about amateur radio, instead focusing on preparedness, disasters, blackouts, ... the content from the amateur radio perspective with preparedness perspective is exactly the same, but how we present it is critical to our videos success. That's what I learned with your tool two weeks ago. You briefly covered this topic, in this video.
      Now for your question. It was a bit difficult to understand what the keyword tool is trying to tell me. Initially I didn't understand the related keywords and tags. Anyway once I found the keywords and tags with all A's, I built the video around that metadata.

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very interesting point! Indeed, when we look at a particular search term then we can guess by the term itself - or at least by looking at the videos that already rank for the term - we can guess what viewers will expect from the video considering they just typed that term into the search bar. Understanding this is important for high watch time because if we try to fit a half fitting search term for our video then that can basically result in clickbait - the video doesn’t deliver what people expect. Thus it’s just ace that you embraced that new perspective! 👌 More reason than I imagined before to do the research first. Thanks!

    Very helpful advice! If I may offer some advice myself, this tool isn't really for people such as myself who have just started out on TH-cam, basically every search term gets Fs all round. Hopefully once I get more videos, views and subscribers I will come back to this and see more benefits!

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My pleasure buddy and good point! For very small channels it difficult to get SEO working as almost all search terms are too competitive on TH-cam yet. And that is what gets reflected with the bad grades within Morningfame. However, it is not impossible. Have a look how I did the research for a channel with 8 subscribers: th-cam.com/video/fYNs1mnLRxw/w-d-xo.html That said, I recommend that you add additional growth strategies that help you bootstrap the growth of your channel. Here they are: th-cam.com/video/yskeWuV4f5o/w-d-xo.html I hope this helps!

      @@Morningfame Thanks so much! Your method for the channel with 8 subscribers definitely gave me something to think about!
      I wonder if it could also be a good tactic at this stage to pay a bit closer attention to the actual numbers too? For example, I know most search terms will give me Fs but not all Fs are created equal right? I may find a term that's a little closer in subscribers and views, which may be worth focusing on.

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome, I am happy to hear this! Yes, you could have a closer look. For this reason I actually added those graphs below the grades. But be careful here to not go too low. What you need to look at is how close your channel’s number is to the number of the Gateway video. Normally if your channel’s number is equal or higher than that of the Gateway video then you would get a D grade. So make sure that you at least are very close to the Gateway video. Be aware that the lower you go, the lower your chance to rank will get. But if you can’t of course find a better search term then that is the next best thing to do and to take the chance.

    I'm curious if it is possible to add a button to the keyword search tool to crunch the grades on the suggested keywords for the search term we are researching.
    That would make this 10x faster for keyword research since we currently have to check out each suggested keyword one by one to see a grade.

    • @Morningfame

      My pleasure Antony! I am limited by how many searches I can do and showing the grades right away requires a search for each search term. If I would automate it then I would waste valuable resources because it would also test terms that you yourself wouldn’t consider to begin with. Great question Farrukh! Yes, it’s all good and well. Actually, the main reason why you see differences is because the search results change all the time. Just repeat the same search on TH-cam directly just 10 seconds apart and you’ll see that you get different search results. I once did a video about the weirdness going on in Search: th-cam.com/video/uJcVvFvg4e4/w-d-xo.html The reason for this is actually that the algorithm always tests videos. But in any way, with Morningfame I deal with this situation by using averages and such so that these fluctuations don’t matter anymore.

You usually cannot rank for the short-tail version right away but if a video ranks for a long-tail search term first - e.g. “youtube seo 2020” - and does really well there then it may like in your case “graduate” and even rank for the short-tail part of the search term - e.g. just “youtube seo”. This is great info. One thing I'm still unsure about is the relevance score. What factors effect the score? And sometimes it will be an "A" in step 3 but jumps down to a "C" in step 4.

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Excellent question Tiffany! I should make a video about this. First of all, the difference that you see in steps #3 and #4 are because step #3 shows you how much you could get with perfect metadata. That is also why it says “Potentially” in the graph there. So it assumes you do all your metadata by the book and you get a 100% Relevance score. In step #4 then you enter you actual metadata. And it may not be perfect / by the book and thus you get e.g. a 90% Relevance score which is one grade worse. If you want to reach 100% and with it get the grade that you were promised in step #3 then you will need to improve your metadata. Pay attention to the little blue tip buttons spread across step #4. They give you custom tips based on the metadata you have entered so far in order to tell you what to do next to raise the Relevance score.
      You asked what affects your Relevance score. The metadata that you enter affects it of course and the tip buttons tell you what you may be missing to get the score further up. And then your own score - the percentage - is compared to the average Relevance score of the videos already ranking for your target search term. The farther your score sets itself apart from the average, the better the grade will be. The idea here is to have your own video to be much better optimized for the target search term than all the other videos that rank. The better yours is optimized, the more you have an edge over the competition.

    Super thorough explanation on how to best find target keywords a small channel can rank in! Great job :) But the tough part is not to rank in long tail keywords, it's to find the ones that will bring enough velocity to then rank in bigger keywords phrases.

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks buddy! Indeed, low competition is just one part of it. Once you have identified a few fitting search terms that all have low enough competition then pick the one as your target search term that has the highest search volume. That is what you mean by velocity, right?

    • @OverwatchLimbo
      @OverwatchLimbo 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Morningfame Yes! Velocity is how many views you're getting per hour/day. I think from what I observed and tested that "burst' of views (which result in burst of watch time and engagement) is what make you gain ranks. That's why it's so important to reach out to as many subscribers as possible and to heavily promote your videos in the first couple of hours after publishing: to get that initial velocity that will result in ranking in low competition searches, that will then ensure a steady income of views to your videos and help them rank better in highly competitive searches with some time. So, if you gain 200 views over 2 days, it won't help as much as if you get 200 views in the first two hours, even for low competition searches.

On occasion I will give a "too competitive" topic a try, especially if I feel like I can make a better video; sometimes it flops, but other times I get a gradual growing evergreen video that moves up the ranks over time. And yes, put the target search term in the title and weave it into the text you add to the description. You will see that you get a high Relevance score then when you enter your metadata in step #4 of the keyword tool. Also pay attention to the blue tip buttons there which tell you what you can do in order to increase your Relevance score based on what you entered so far.

      @@Morningfame .. I'm about to send you a screenshot because I'm in the MMO niche as I explained and I've insert all longtail keywords I believe in the morningfame software and keeping getting FFFA and EEFB and FFFB channel scores instead of score DDDB since I'm a new TH-camr in the make money online niche. I'm about to screen these because this have to change sir...

    Amazing video, MorningFame is really a mastercraft, loving the tips and the insights !
    I wonder if the keyword searcher grades are usuable for very tiny channel ?
    I just started my channel and I have actually 50 subscribers, do you think looking at the competition grades is really useful ? If not what would you recommend for a faster growth on SEO?

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s awesome to hear Paul! Yes, I designed the keyword tool with small channels in mind. I bet what you experience is that you usually get bad grades. This basically reflects that TH-cam is a competitive space and your small channel is just too small for compete for most search terms. But that said, with these techniques to can really crack the code and find search terms that have low enough competition for you. Just have a look at how I applied the techniques to an 8 subs channel for example: th-cam.com/video/fYNs1mnLRxw/w-d-xo.html And feel free to check out the timestamps in the description. I found search terms for a few more small channels around 50 subs. You’ll see that the catalyst is really the last technique in this video here. Keep at it! SEO is a very dependable growth strategy for small channels. Cheers, Nico

    Hi Nico. I tend to spend time trying to get a higher search volume. Sometimes I'll get a 40 something and if I sit there and work on it a few more minutes I can get 70's or 90's in a couple cases. How steep is the success curve after 11? Hope that makes sense. thanks so much for this tool and videos. Finally seeing some consistent growth on YT.

    • @Morningfame
      @Morningfame  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am happy to hear that you like the tool Raw! :) These numbers are actually only designed to be useful to compare two search terms. So it is hard to say how big of a difference two numbers actually are. But roughly think of them as being on a logarithmic scale. 40 is definitely more than 4x than 11. And 80 is more than 2x 40. I am glad you say that you only use a few more minutes to find a search term that has higher search volume. I wouldn’t invest too much time into optimizing that aspect. But how you do it is a great approach. And at the end of your research, when you have several DDDB or better search terms to pick from, of course the one with the highest search volume number is best. But always think of whether the search term fits your video topic. So if the highest one is not fitting your video topic well enough then rather pick one with lower search volume. The reason is that people expect to find videos that fit what they searched for. So your own video will only keep ranking high if it is indeed a good fit for the search term. I hope this helps! Nico
