You can keep your P-51s and your Supermarine Spitfires, in my book this is the most beautiful WW2 fighter plane, period. It's just a pit bull of an aircraft: compact, tough, looks mean, has a wicked bite, but has an air of grace and athleticism.
Thom gets all my respect, just flying the wings off that P40. Beautiful aircraft beautifully piloted and filmed; that 8 point roll, my God just superlative. Thanks to all involved for sharing!!! Ciao.
My favorite WW2 fighter when I was 8, and still my favorite fighter at age 61. Great lines, great sound, and built like a steel bridge. Tough airplane. I owned a 180HP Globe Swift, and the planform view of the Swift is nearly identical to the P-40. The wing shape is very nearly the same. And the Swifts were built by people who came from Curtiss-Wright after the war.
Such a beautiful airplane that deserves a better reputation. All you hear about its history is what it did in China. The German troops in Africa hated them. They were the best ground support aircraft of their day, and a fast bomber. They could out dive any of the German aircraft, British Aircraft, and most of the American ones. For most of WWII they held the dive record at 600 mph.
Esse magnífico avião, resultado de uma filosofia, baseada na defesa do território dos USA , de fato não tinha desempenho em Altitude s . Mas durante os anos difíceis da guerra lutou com bravura. E seu desempenho foi muito superior, ao que é difundido.
I've seen a Curtiss Kittyhawk at an English airshow, and it sounded remarkably similar to the Warhawk in this video. Are Kittyhawks and Warhawks the same aircraft?
You’re correct! Same aircraft slightly different variants. If I remember correctly P-40B & Cs here, were British Tomahawk MKII’s. P-40D,E, & F here, were named the Kittyhawk mkI, mkIA, and mkII over there.
This aircraft was part of the AVG in 1945 where japan invaded China and that the flying tigers was inaugurated by a commander named lieutenant Clare Chennault
Es de la Fuerza Aérea de los Estados Unidos, utilizado durante los primeros años de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Ya para 1943 había mejores y más potentes aviones de combate aunque el P-40 se siguió utilizando.

Sweet display - 8 Point roll was a ripper... The Pilot was dialed right in 👍👍👍
the P-40. the work horse of early military aviation.
The P-40N was the latest version ( lighter with more powerful engine ).
Love that Allison snarl.......
Great display. Glad to see some air shows happening over there in the midst of madness. Thanks for sharing mate 👍🏻

Astonishing the P40, the best of all!!! And the Allison engine sounds better than Merlin , Db605 and radial engines!!!
Magnificent! plane and pilot
Dear God, I love this plane.
Those airframes were so ridiculously tough that this wasn't stressing that old 'bird at all. Love the 8 pointer.
Thanks AirshowStuff Awesome P-40....
Dang do I miss airshows. Can't wait for the return of the Planes of Fame Airshow in October!
We are hoping to be there too!

And in the Pacific with the Australian and New Zealand Airforces.
Cool plane.

Nice..
Who was the Pilot? Could've given the story behind him.

Remember Pappy Boyington? He flew with them I think.
April 1941 - 4 July 1942
