i really enjoyed this video, the storytelling and emotions were so well captured. that said, it’s hard to believe the mom would kick her own child out and then expect financial support for college. it feels so one-sided and honestly, kind of selfish on her part. wonder if anyone else feels that way too?

wow, this video had me hooked from start to finish! i can't help but wonder, though, if the mom really thought she could just dismiss her child's feelings like that. seems pretty unfair, right? it's one thing to start a new family, but another to disregard the old one completely. i’d love to hear what others think!

Have you considered that sometimes people might project their own experiences or biases onto your situation? What do you think might happen if you tried explaining your feelings more deeply to those around you?

My mother used to tell me this
"If a parent doesn’t love the mother or father of their kids they won’t love the kids."
Humans are just really great at compartmentalizing. Also the way the ex treats them will be a major factor. Humans have a tendency is to go towards that which bring pleasure, and run away from that which brings pain. If each time a mom or dad goes to see their kids and the ex makes them feel like a failure, or what have you, they will be more resistant in coming back.
Or the spouse is jealous of the fact the human they love has past baggage and being a stepparent especially in a lot of non western cultures is considered dishonorable because your paying for a human being you didn't help create that eats the food you buy, clothes they wear that you pay for. I can go on and on
