For me in the UK, the Ukraine war defines this US presidential election because we know that Trunt endorses Putin, albeit not overtly or explicitly, as also does Vance.

Just voted in New Mexico…Very long lines for early voters…Poll administrators told me they have never seen anything like this…NM is blue but from what I’m reading early voting is very high which generally benefits Democrats and voter registration activity is up significantly and voters registering as Democrats represent basically 2 out of every 3 voters…

People leaving the rallies early isn’t as telling as the fact that they aren’t displaying as many yard signs as they used to. I live in a red area. In 2016 there were Trump yards signs and flags everywhere. In 2020 there were noticeably fewer. In 2024 they are a rare sight. Not that people won’t be voting for him but that they understand from their friends and neighbors that even if it seems necessary to vote for him for whatever reason, it’s a transgressive act.
Republicans are fearful of putting up yard signs in case the democrats vandalize the republicans’ property - they are the same democrats who are attempting to “save our democracy.”
I live in a rural area myself and notice the same thing here. There are very few Trump signs compared to years past.
Most people aren’t insane, so they know it’s a shameful thing to support such an obviously objective person. They might not fly the flags, but a portion of them still might circle his name in the privacy of their ballot box.
It’s a turnout election if you believe the polls in the swing states. The side that shows up in greater numbers wins. That comes down to enthusiasm and yard signs are a good indicator of that.
The US needs proportional representation, and get rid of the electoral colleges, they are insane looking from the outside in, you need major electoral reform.
They look pretty crazy on the inside looking out too. I learned about the electoral college as a teen and I was stunned!

Well proportional representation would work on a State level and just pick Federal appointments based on what party won the State, every State has one vote based on the party who wins the State and whoever gets the most State votes gets the presidents office, would that work ??
