      Week 14 against the Vikings, he went 6 of 19 for 34 yards, 0 TDs and 3 Interceptions in a win against the Vikings. Rex was one of those guys that was either the best QB in the league or the worst QB in the league depending on the Sunday.

The Saints defense held Darnold to 43 yards passing (half of which came on one completion that put them in range for the game-winning FG), 0 TDs and 2 Ints. Darnold had a QB rating of 3. And the Saints still lost. Our kicker missed 2 FGs too, but still.
    This game was week 17 and should have gotten the entire offensive staff fired (our Andy Dalton led offense had been putrid all season), but nope. The only offensive coach we let go was the TE’s coach.

    Going entirely by stats, it has to be Joe Ferguson and the Bills beating the Jets in 1974 while completing zero passes for zero yards. But there were extenuating circumstances, namely the spectacular failure of the AstroTurf on national TV during a heavy rainstorm. Namath and the Jets got picked three times trying to hit receivers who couldn't run routes without sliding all over the ice - I mean turf - before they got smart and stopped passing, but by then it was too late.

      - 9 TDs (7 passing 2 rushing)
      - 1 INT

    The Rex Grossman one was what immediately popped into my mind, sure enough there he is representing a CLEAN 16 year radius BOTH WAYS of no one joining him on that chart. That is insane.
    This particular game in 2022, in hindsight, was a WONDERFUL conclusion to Tank Division. Even the winner of Tank Division totally laid an egg in the playoffs.

    Shoutout to the quickie cameo on the chart by the 1973 Falcons-Cardinals matchup, the only game in NFL history to see two eligible starting QBs record a 0.0 rating...

    I'd argue that the beginning of rules to benefit the passing game came in 1978, when the rules changed for pass interference.

    You should break down the Andrew Luck game, where he scored almost every single point in the game, for both teams, and till got the W.
    He threw 4 INTs, one of them a pick 6, and fumbled a TD for the Defense.

    I liked just to see the Rex Grossman breakdown! Been forever since anyone's talked about him and how he "led" the Bears to the Super Bowl.
    Edit I've always liked the passer rating than the QBR

    • @oel734
      @oel734 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same. I think the Passer rating is a more accurate metric on how a QB performs because it's focused on his PASSING (duh!) metrics than anything else.
