as someone who was raised by atheists, and is very much not religious, Anne's perspective on prayer is absolutely beautiful. "You couldn't quite call it poetry, I suppose, but it sounds a lot like it, doesn't it?" -Anne. Well I wholeheartedly agree. It really is quite beautiful. And "Lord, make me an instrument of your peace" is just.. such a beautiful sentiment.. of all the things to ask the omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent Creator, asking Him to be an instrument of His peace, to sow love where there is hatred and so on.. it is just.. so pure, snd beautiful. I love this prayer. I shall learn it.

This entire sequence about Mary’s Easter party which starts with “It Is Well With My Soul” played instrumentally in the background and ends with this prayer might be my favourite sequence of the series so far. Perhaps also the scene where Matthew says “She’s my daughter” when he comes to fetch Anne, in one of the first episodes.
I tried my hardest not to cry this whole episode but this scene got me. As soon as I heard the beautiful singing. I couldn’t help but weep, such a loving send-off. I love the prayer too. May we rejoice in Heaven as this scene portrays
I love that Marilla is the one that says
"Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith"
Because that sort of describes her journey with Anne, and now she finally has faith and Anne and Anne has faith in Marilla

My mom always teared up when she heard “It is Well.” It brought her comfort in times of deep sorrow, when her parents passed. She was able to find peace that they were going to a better place.
And whenever I hear that song, it reminds me of her and the tears come to me. So powerful
As a Catholic/Christian I tought this scene was so beautiful

this is the prayer for peace of st Francisco of Assisi, one of the greatest saints of the catholic church, who left all his riches for the love of God and neighbor. There is a beautiful phrase of his that is so current: "love is not loved", he cried and shouted this prayer through the streets of Assisi.

This is one of my favorite hymns that we sing at church, so when I heard this in the background of this episode, I got a little emotional, and then when Anne started to sing and everyone joined her I completely lost it 😂😭😭
this scene is the most intense one all throush the series. I had to stop watching a couple of times during this episode to be ok enough to continue to watch.

Lovely scene. Everybody sings so well, but why does Matthew lurk in the background instead of singing with everybody else? He seems to switch positions a bit and is standing near the blanket at 0:43 and then at 0:49 he's behind Rachel's shoulder. Maybe he was getting emotional at the thought of losing Mary and he didn't want to be conspicuous when he started crying.
He hates crowds. Even when they're made of his own people.
