    We cant always control our thoughts - but we can control the way we react to them. 🙏🏻

    This was so helpful to me that i cant even begin to describe it! all the videos I have watched tell me to just ignore it or stop it or get it out and I feel like the more I say stop it or go away or think about smth else the more deeply it embeds itself into my thoughts and they just never stop almost as if a never-ending movie is playing about everything stressful. Thankyou for clearing it out for me

    👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 thank you. Well presented answers. I was taught very similar techniques long ago and successfully used them. So much so that the night mind racing completely stopped. But now, all these years later, they returned due to a new circumstance. I just couldn't remember exactly how i broke out of the night thinking loops before. Also, i have a loved one who could benefit from this knowledge. I appreciate you.

    Starting hearing this randomly in tiny remote Scottish pubs with open mic nights in the last few years and thought It could be folk/Irish/Scottish tunes due to the passion and multiple instruments played phenomenally in sync, mostly Irish folks singing, what a tune!!! Universal and sounds great with any instruments 👌

    My problem has been occurring for 2 to 3 years and I solved it completely in May 2023. However, since about 10 days ago, I have been having trouble sleeping properly, and it has affected my schedule. I usually go to bed at 12 p.m., but I get up at 2 p.m. or 3 a.m., so I cannot go to college the following day. In September, I only went to college 2 days out of 12 and i have to start from the basics of working with my brains and solve the issue and keep on doing meditation on a regular basis.

    Thinking more about something is like adding drop into a pool of water , however this only worsens the situation ,but if there is a problem how can we not think (actively) of solving it. i mean how can you always keep observing mind ,thinking is must and that is the problem whenever i start to think that's where the problem keeps on coming
    That doesn't mean i should stop thinking.
    Because if i don't think how will i get solutions for my problem?
    So how how should i not think and get solutions?

      I can recommend looking into vagus nerve stimulation techniques, the last video I made has some examples of these. There are more online such as using your finger on your ear. I know it sounds strange but it helps with communicating to the nervous system to move back into the rest and digest state

      If you meditate daily, you will eventually have a calmer mind and less thoughts when practicing it. Your mind will eventually “give up” by putting your attention on the silent gaps in between thoughts, as well as on your breathing.

    How do you know which thoughts are active & which thoughts are passive ?

    • @MentalHealthPower
      @MentalHealthPower  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      When you are reading text, that is an example of you creating active thoughts. You are purposeful creating the thoughts. Or if you were to calculate something in your mind, this is another example. There are many others but it's when you are manually using your mind to create thoughts. With enough meditation practice, you can more easily recognise when it is you manually creating thoughts and when it is your mind automatically doing it. As an example, sometimes I may have music pop into my mind and it is playing that music for a bit, that's something my mind created on its own and I didn't purposefully do that. Or I may notice random comments it makes about things but I didn't actively create those thoughts. At least this is how it is for me so I assume it's similar for others.

    pls how do i know whether or not my thoughts are active or passive

    • @MentalHealthPower
      @MentalHealthPower  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Imagine the word "cat" or bring up the image of a cat in your mind if you can. When you hear yourself in your mind say "cat", you purposefully created that thought. I would call that an active thought because you took the purposeful action to create it. We do the same when we are for example trying to solve a maths problem, we have to sort of manually put thoughts together to figure it out. Sometimes our mind creates thoughts and images automatically without us actually manually creating them, this is a passive thought. Because everyone uses their mind a bit differently, I can't get more specific and it may take some practice and time in learning how your own mind works with this - e.g when I read a book, in my mind I am purposefully creating the words so I hear it in my mind, but then my mind passively creates the images, it does that automatically, but if I need to think about something a bit more I might manually bring an imagine up into my mind. Some people say they do not hear a voice in their mind and it is not as easy for them to notice their own thoughts so again - it depends on the person and for some people it may be about practice.

    I have had a problem with Racing Thoughts for 3-4 years, I thought this was normal but now I understand that it is not normal because I have really bad Racing Thoughts when im trying to sleep in bed and when i wake up. do you have any solution or idea? whats wrong with me because this has been going on for a really long time and what's the best way to stop it forever and start focusing on sleeping. this gives me insomnia

      Daily meditation practice was the solution for me. I never skip a day. I have been doing either concentration based meditation or mindfulness based meditation for 6 years. I started getting good results even after a few weeks of doing it. The key is to just keep doing it daily and to not look for results, as the positive effects gradually build up. Meditation re-trains our mind and how we relate to it and our thoughts. I can recommend starting with guided meditation videos or apps that will get you started. When you are comfortable with that, start meditating without any guided audio. It is like going to the gym - it takes practice and dedication to see results. Also the racing thoughts for me were a symptom of anxiety, stress and trauma, so I was working on reducing those too. I talk about this more in my other videos.

      @@MentalHealthPower I'm the kind of sensitive person who really worries and get stressed about almost everything, and this also caused me anxiety and insomnia. Do you think that the best medicine would be meditation every day?
      do you think 10 minutes a day is enough? and what if it gets missed sometime? is it always better to do it in the morning or in the evening?

      @@ehsanahmadyar2681 I cannot say if meditation is the best solution, but from my experience and if you look at research on it, it shows it helps many people with stress and anxiety. Another thing to do would be to work with a therapist to resolve the underlying issues. Yes just start with 10 mins a day or even a few minutes then gradually build it up over time, even if you miss one day or two its ok just be as consistent as possible. You will need to experiment with when its better to meditate but if insomnia is an issue try in the evening. The goal is just to observe your thoughts, feelings and sensations and over a longer period of time they have less control over us. It is better for you to research more into it to find a way of meditating that works for you.
