  • My Commute in the modern Chinese city of Nanjing is often exciting but after many years I decided to go on an adventure. In this city of 9 million people I decided to take a different commute to work along Chinas incredible infrastructure. I took a taxi, car, High speed train and a driverless bus, stopping off at interesting sites along the way, trying to create a different experience everyday. The autonomous driving bus was exciting to experience, with the future on our roads heading towards autonomous driving fast.

    Really interesting video Adam. Amazing how fast technology is progressing.! I'm not sure if I'd feel comfortable travelling on the automated bus if there wasn't a human overseeing it also.
    I love your videos. 🥰 They are so well produced. 👍 Keep sharing ! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

      haha sure, that's the point of the video 😁, most people have the same or a very similar commute everyday, I open up the idea of changing that.

    Wuhan has launched 1,000 driverless taxis called "carrot run". Citizens only need to place an order through a mobile app to experience the unique charm of driverless taxis, and the fare is less than half of that of ordinary taxis, greatly reducing travel costs. Tesla is negotiating to enter into driverless taxi market in China, and the partner could be Baidu " Carrot run".

    • @middlekingdomproductions

      I’ll have to try it out sometime 👍 yeah it seems China might potentially be more open to allowing Tesla FSD onto the roads and their future robotaxis than other countries. Yeah the partnership with Baidu is necessary to proceed here with this technology. Baidu have some very cool mapping systems here, I’ve used their maps while driving. I don’t think most people realize that what Tesla are doing with FSD is without any radar, mapping or anything most self driving services use. It will be able to drive with only the cameras, no code.

  • @phu004

    I can see that the "driverless" car still requires some one sitting behind the wheel, it's still a bit risky to let a passenger vehicle controlled completely by AI.

    • @middlekingdomproductions

      Yeah for sure safety comes first but soon enough AI will be safer at driving than humans. I’m unsure what technology this bus is testing out. I guess it is probably using some form of Lidar. There are many cool videos of Tesla FSD online now, it’s getting very close to solving autonomous driving. It doesn’t use any form of Lidar or code anymore either, pure AI. An exciting future is coming fast 😃

      @@middlekingdomproductions Wuhan has 1000 taxi with no driver inside, this company is called Carrot Run . it does not have driver , the passenger sits the rear seat, with a monitor to show navigation map, and a menu for emergency call. also , there is a hammer to break windows if car accident occurs. A vloger shows how to change route or want a emergency stop because passenger inside might change their decision or desitination etc..

    How come you don't buy an Electric Scooter and ride it to school everyday ?

    • @middlekingdomproductions

      Taxis are the best option for me. I also drive an electric car but not to work. It’s also not possible to ride an electric scooter on the highway through the river tunnel so it would mean an extra 10km or something like that to travel the longer route over a bridge 😃
