i tried winter sowing two years in a row and most of my seeds seem to be dead after checking on them, im guessing the seeds swell up ready to germinate then a random frost kills them, below zero. Were having weird weather now, because of global warming, it's going to be another record heat also =( im going to try putting the seeds in the fridge then put them out under grow lights, that way i have more control. Well i hope everyone has better luck then i did, thanks for the video.

Thats a great point Alejandro. If your seeds start to sprout and then the temps drop below zero- its likely too cold for them to remain out. I do hear of people sheltering them. We had a very warm winter after solstice and so I haven't experienced many freezing temps. A friend runs the fb winter sowers group- you may get some ideas for your area on how to protect them. Best- TTG.

Hi-I have yet to try this and have some swamp milkweed I'd like to winter sow yet this year. This was great information but didn't include anything about what to do for those bluebells after 60 days. Do those get thinned and replanted in pots inside until after the first frost?

Great question. I dont bring them inside. You can divide and replant outside once they have true leaves- they are used to the weather.
