if you buy an EEPROM. new is empty. It should by all means be read by programmers. then the file should be put on the EEPROM. with codes. or without the code off.
Hi. I removed the chip, read the code off it successfully, and soldered it back on. But now the unit doesn't power on. I've checked fuses and all seem OK. Any ideas what could be wrong?
if you have changed EEPROM program have not accurate. radio does not start with. must be correct EEPROM program to succeed. I like to send a. file. EEPROM only tell me what else you wish the code number. EEPROM to send the file. I 24c16

Well the strange thing is I didn't write anything to the chip. I read my chip and got the code off it. I didn't change it in any way. When I put it back on it turned on and I put the code in, it worked. But now it doesn't. I'm wondering if I've damaged the chip.
You used an .E2P dump in a regular .BIN programmer.... don't think this is right lol Also these chips are glued down with 2 points to prevent Hot-Air removal.....

if I buy a NEW 24c16 eeprom then download a bin online can I use that? Or is the code in the bin specific to each radio?

Ok I've just checked my 24c16 on the board with no power. Pins 1,2,3,4 and 7 are all connected to ground. Looks like my chip is dead.
Have you installed the signs of pin1 EEPROM from pin1. as in video
