    Several years ago we were on the same boat. Once in a lifetime experience. Had a mom, older calf and young calf. All swam right up to the boat. The baby came to the boat and eyed us for a long time. Totally amazing.

      It was amazing! I feel really lucky to have seen it. The week after we went the same tour boat saw a killer whale with white sided dolphins around it in a big group. Wish I had a video of that too.

    great video under perfect conditions! Glad to see you so stoked about the puffin! Aside from Machias Seal, there's a spot off Cape Breton to see them as well. But it's a good sighting anywhere in the BoF. Your skimming bird looked to be a shearwater of some sort.

      It was a dream come true honestly to see one. Hopefully I can get out to an area and see them nesting someday.

      It's beautiful and from the water with the views of the north mountain it's incredible. Your wife is lucky she grew up in such a nice place.

    If you want to see a lot of puffins , then you need to go to Newfoundland and take the bird island whale watching tour just south of Saint Johns . You will see hundreds of puffins and probably a few humpbacks . 👍

    I read somewhere that all the Mylar balloons wash up on Sable Island, Halifax, Canada.

    Awesome day Mike, whales, dolphins and a puffin to boot. I managed to make it out to Machias\Seal Island this summer and got some great photo's and videos of the puffins. If you like to see them just let me know.

      You are lucky! I have always wanted to go there and even looking into it this year they were completely booked up. I think after the border opens it'll be even harder to get to the island with all the tourists taking up the spots on the tour boats. It seems like a place most maritimers never get the chance to go to.

    Nice video and informative. Could you share when you went for this trip and which was the timing? I was wondering if 9:30AM cruise is gonna be a worthy one.

      We were there July 24th. I think it's the luck of the draw when it comes to seeing whales but I am sure you won't be disappointed going in the morning or afternoon. The week after we were there they saw a killer whale which would have also been great to see.

    Amazing! What is the name of the whale watching company?

    • @rivervidsyt
      @rivervidsyt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is called Brier Island whale & Seabird Cruises. When you stay at the Brier Island Lodge you also get a discount on the whale watching.
