    Moving country and just traveling is a huge difference and I think it's very impressive that you could fit all your things into that suitcase! And even a cast iron pan!

    I am currently moving country and let's open this by saying I am NOT a minimalist person
    but how you can fit all of your clothes in a single bag truly is impressive... half of my suitcase is electronics ahahah

    I love that you promote responsible minimalism. Getting rid of things should serve a purpose just as bringing new things into your life should.

      Thank you, I just kind of want to share an alternative option because while I love minimalism I also think sometimes it can be quite wasteful! It's good to be home 🙌🏼💛

    WELL DONE! I've moved countries twice and within Hong Kong 3 times. How you did it with so much grace and organisation is salutable (I just made that word up hahaha).
    And THAT was definitely minimalist and practical because cast iron pans are not only an investment but you are also saving time not having to buy stuff again. Love it! =)

    When moving, especially country to country, it's necessary to take more than you would normally just travel with, there is nothing wrong with how you packed. I'm extremely impressed that all you had fit, and how beautifully organized everything was. I hope you had a good journey home, that your belongings made it safely, and your reunion with family and your furbabies was a wonderful one.

    Right now I’m down to two suitcases, a storage box on wheels, and 3 shipping boxes worth of things. Im trying to get down to two suitcases and my backpack however. My ultimate goal is one suitcase but I also have houseware items that I don’t want to have to repurchase. So that makes things heavier.

    • @Livingthelifeyoulove
      @Livingthelifeyoulove  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wow you're doing amazing! It's so hard to pack with less when you have housewear items as they're so bulky + I think it's so important to invest in things that last a lifetime and so that's the part where I think minimalism has to mould to our lifestyles rather than us moulding to it. You're doing amazing! 🙌🏼

    • @classassignment3643
      @classassignment3643 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Living the life you love thank you so much! I moved for grad school to a new state, far away from home with this amount. I’m hoping to continue to whittle down. I really really like it, bc it feels good to me. I’m finally starting to feel less attached to some of these material things and I tossed out a lot of clothes that had a less than positive memory, experience, & history to them. That helped me prepare for my move.

    I am actually really glad that you took everything with you. You had some really intentional purchases, nice things that will last forever. It made more sense to take them home than to leave them and have to repurchase them. Plus..I think that was pretty minimal considering that you packed everything that you have right now and it fit into one suitcase! It’s a good think you make jewelry on Etsy. It’s small and easy to pack. I also make jewelry but I also sell vintage home goods on Etsy and those are not at all easy to pack! I have actually taken over my sons large closet with huge Rubbermaid bins full of vintage goods! Hahahahaha! Oops. Anyway. I hope that you and Dom have a good, smooth, and are trip back to the UK.

    Being able to fit a frying pan and some boxes inside the suitcase and an extra bag I could say is minimalist because that is impressive. 😄 I'm planning to move to the uk once I graduate college and get at least 2 years of work experience in the field. I don't have experience going on a plane even a bit so I might try doing some small travels during those 2 years. Is it weird that I already have a list of things I want to pack in my not yet existing carry on and suitcase?😅 From watching multiple packing videos, I get to realize and remove things I don't actually need or want to bring anymore since they're not really that important to me though most of it are electronics and sentimental things. Also, what luggage size would you recommend if I want to bring most of my clothes and put them in my luggage? I'm planning to bring at most 5 pairs of clothes in my carry on as well.
