I did all 8 today. It took me about 50 minutes. It gets easier the further into the drill you go but don't let it fool you, this drill is tough and will get you sweating and you heart pumping. Maybe doing it on soft grass (like I did) is harder, I don't know.

Depends on what you are training for. If you are trying to improve/increase acceleration, speed, quickness, or power you can't do that well if you are fatigued. It's about training the neurological system, fast twitch muscles, and ATP-CP/fast-glycholitic fuel systems. So yes short intense bursts and long rests is called for. If you are trying to condition yourself to repeat these bursts of speed, power, etc, you'd do more work and lest rest, but that is a different phase of training and comes after you increase the attribute. If you try and do both at the same time you'll see, at best, a slight improvement in both and a huge amount of fatigue... likely leading to inhibition of skill related practice and playing ability and/or increase chance/incidence of injury.
