      It's the Chinese bringing in most of the money these days, so it's an important demographic by far for Thailand to have.

      @@johnk-pc2zx Tell that to small mum and dad businesses who often struggle. Most will want more, not less tourism, and they won't care who it's coming from. If you don't want Chinese and Russians, or so many of them, then you have to think of a way to replace that lost revenue, I can't think of any way.

    How do foreign hotels setup in Thailand? If they can't own land, does Marriot just gift a random Thai with a $2M piece of land and hope they are nice and renew the lease in 30 years? How does it work?

    Buying land is one thing. Being able to buy a house with land should be allowed in a limited amount. I don't see anything wrong with that. I would rather own a house with a small amount of land, rather than buying just a condo. They could easily restrict the amount of land that foreigners can purchase and limit it to a single small lot that a house sits on, for your own domicile.

    I just read an article that stated Thailand joined BRICS. Said Russia invited Thailand and they accepted. Can you do a video on this please. I was planning on moving there in May from America and I’m not sure what that would mean for me now.

    Been watching your channel for a couple years now. Can foreigners own "townhomes"? I can't seem to get a straight answer anywhere. Technically they are similar to condos - say 100 townhome community where the land is fractionally owned by each townhome owner. It offers more space and small backyard, which is what I'm looking for. If foreigners can own townhomes, does the fractional land ownership which is relinquished under foreign rule (I assume), get returned to a Thai national if you sell that property to a Thai national down the road?

      You can own the house but not the land that the house is on, you have to lease that for a maximum of 30 years

    • @yuriyzenda5857
      @yuriyzenda5857 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@scoutcav Thanks. My question was very specific to how the law treats "townhomes". With houses, where you own the house and not own the land but must go through a separate land lease agreement - it's too much hassle. You don't get that hassle with a condo purchase. So, from a legal lens, is the townhouse purchase treated like a house purchase or like a condo purchase?

    Nothing wrong with owning 49% of land as long as you have the correct contract in place to retain control, it's totally normal you make it sound like a dark art, have you had a bad experience?

      @@jjmstudios It is legal as long as the Thai owns 51% and their majority rights are not diluted to prevent Thai control of the property. The schemes that are illegal attempt to prevent actual Thai control.
