Basically they were in toxic relationship and this guy had developed eating disorders. And all this took a toll on his health that's why he ended up leaving the show(his first ever show as the lead) .

I really liked this guy😭 my first Kdrama to watch was welcome to Waikiki. I started watching Kdrama in January. Thank God he was my starting point. A genuine guy
He was in a toxic relationship with his partner during his project with Seohyun that caused him to act like that and he even got eating disorder during the filming that the ending of the drama was changed to his character dying at the end.. He already apologized to Seohyun though. But despite of the problems, his acting in that drama was smooth, they did a great job.

His trauma was literally related to the girl around him at that time, i don't see anything on his fault, if you know how it works you will understand his situation, i haven't been in such a romantic relationship but have dealt with someone extremely controlling as a family member and it's really hard to get out of it specially when you love them dearly, sometimes you even fail to see you're being controlled,or how your behavior to others is bad from third person's point of view. Actor statement: he was never in a toxic relationship with his girlfriend and that the female lead actress have nothing to do with his awful actions towards his cast mates especially the female lead actress and the director.
He also said during that time he was going through eating disorder, depression, anxiety, sleeping problems and that he was being mistreated horrible by his management company and that he is planning on suing them for what they did to him.

He already apologized to Seohyun though. But despite of the problems, his acting in that drama was smooth, they did a great job.

His trauma was literally related to the girl around him at that time, i don't see anything on his fault, if you know how it works you will understand his situation, i haven't been in such a romantic relationship but have dealt with someone extremely controlling as a family member and it's really hard to get out of it specially when you love them dearly, sometimes you even fail to see you're being controlled,or how your behavior to others is bad from third person's point of view. I don't blame him for his behavior at that time, and he literally apologized to everyone and seohyun publically for his behavior when he realized he had done her wrong.
