Do they have water nearby? My crows find it helpful in lubricating their food for maximum gullet packing 😂

Yes, there is a small pond just off camera, and a creek about 50 meters away.

Addie keeps the vultures away! She has gotten braver, but I hope she knows what she is doing.

@@crows714 No kidding since unlike Turkey vultures, these Black vultures actually hunt, not needing to fully rely on carrion. I have the exact same birds seen in your videos but no B. vultures, and with the Black Vultures it seems you may be in the mid-Atlantic / Southern US... I would love to find, and am still trying to find a place like yours - It's complete madness now and I hope will relax soon.

03:50 And why do some crows ( both in this vid) nervously approach familiar food and Dine and Dash away over and over? Kind of inefficient using all that extra energy being jittery.

Crows seem to be always cautious. But the extra caution in the video could be the camera and digital audio recorder just off screen. When it rains and I have to put plastic hoodies on the recording equipment, the crows will hardly come at all.

@@crows714 I did some recording of crows eating peanuts with a camera in full view. Same reaction. When I hid the camera in a bush and very low to the ground, I got some great video and audio. I was using an 11mm lens with the new Sony a6700 with better focusing tech set for birds. But my birds have taken to hit and run, grab a peanut or two then fly on my neighbor's roofs to dine.
