What's wrong with memes, care to explain?
Sometimes memes hate on certain things. Like dudes always wearing khaki pants for example. Some time ago I used to wonder what the criteria were to judge khakis as outworn. Turns out there never were any criteria, it just was this one’s person opinion who didn’t like khakis. It is also true that there is absolutely no problem with wearing khakis. I realized many memes hated on things I saw no need to hate on... things were disliked for no apparent reason. The judgement of the meme was never questioned. As soon as I questioned it (Do I actually agree with the idea suggested in the meme?), I realized I didn’t want to be a hater... thus, I got rid of memes.
Of course some memes are purely funny. You just never know what you’re going to get.
Other than that it is also true that hating makes you more insecure, much more than the other way around. Imagine hating on someone because they have pimples. Then imagine yourself getting pimples. You’d feel the embarrassment of every insulting comment you made or thought about the other person’s face.
Whereas, if you don’t hate on pimples because you have absolutely no problem with them and don’t judge people based on that (
Honestly, who doesn’t have pimples? Everyone has them at some point during their life time... hating on them makes absolutely no sense, you’re effectively hating on everyone

then you’ll have much less of a problem with pimples yourself.
Got rid of memes. Got rid of the idea that if someone says something negative in an annoyed tone, that it’s always true.

I am convinced that social media (which, ironically, this forum is as well although with more options for practical learning) is diluting a lot of peoples' creativity. This is why so much of the current art, music, etc is either re-cycling the past or is failing to excite people on a larger scale.

Fear is such a hard thing to shake off, we are raised to be aware of what other people think of us, how failure is not an option, how we should be perfect or we suck. And we build our whole personality around the expectations of other people, so much that if we could have anything right here and now, we would have no idea what to wish for. We don't really know who we are and what WE want for us and not to please others that it is killing us slowly, but surely!

As I get older and gain more life experience, the more I better come to understand this concept of letting go. It is the opposite of a vicious cycle. The more you let go, the more you get it back. I want to quit my job and live on a bus in the woods with my wife and kids, so I can be a bigger part of their young lives. Fear keeps me chugging through the corporate grind, because the fear of "not having" is so ingrained in my middle class American psyche. I'm sure it's easier for a multi-millionaire celebrity to eschew financial fears, with the goal of living a free and meaningful life. I want to. It's hard. My kids going to bed hungry or cold is my biggest financial fear.

I have no spouse or children, but being a young kid my family is expecting me to pursue some big career and all that but all I really want to do is live in my van and travel. Jim Carrey hit it out of the ball park with this speech. Its one of the most insightful speeches I have ever heard. I have saved another video of this speech where this speech is combined with powerful visuals and music which make the speech even more profound (search Tragedy & Hope channel) but I am also going to add this video to my "spiritual Awareness" playlist, since I like the way this uploader added cartoon drawings to the words which enhances the words.

I have went on quite the Journey of the last 6 months. What he says here is what I've learned to do in the last 6 months. To find love peace and happiness. For me and it's been working! I Simply do the next right thing fearing only doing the next wrong thing. Life is simply all about right or wrong. We are faced with choices on a daily basis think of it as a fork in the road. You really have to hone in and tune in on your gut feeling. Always choose the right thing no matter how painful it is. It's amazing how this works. You end up with new friends new jobs new vehicles. I'm not talking about greed. Like he said new doors will open for you. If you make the wrong choice and you miss a door just keep doing to the best of your ability the next right thing and new doors will automatically open for you. Someone in the comments section below said they catch themselves subconsciously worrying about what others think( looking for validation) I myself have that problem. You just have to have a lot of self-control and force yourself to do the next right thing.
Flow through the hard times and enjoy flowing through the good times. This also makes you live in the here and the now.(being Mindful & aware of your surroundings) He's right part of the fun is coming up with your own way to do it.
I remember first seeing him in Liar Liar and Dumb and Dumber as a child. It is interesting to see a comedian speaking out about these things.
If you watched Donnie Darko you might have second thoughts about the whole Love vs Fear thing.

I'm sure it has been said in older times by philosophers and great thinkers, but again you cannot achieve greatness you cannot achieve your goals if you do not strive in individualism also and believing in yourself more then anything else. fitting in makes you more invisible. shine bright and be a role model. you cannot achieve fame and wealth as well by being average. be a strong personality.
