Decades ago, I lived in Calgary (as a girl). We kept cows outside the city; it was a thing to board your investment cows at these places. I went every day with my dad to visit our cows and treat them like horses and to visit with the horses in a barn too (and often, people, it was really, really cold and very snowy, green in the summer, yes, but very different in the winter). It's a very distant memory, but one I love (even the crazy cold). These were the best of times with my dad.. My dad knew a man who had a very large ranch too. I have no memory of where it was. I just found this show and watched first one episode and half of the second. Until a scene with a letter to the dad, with the post address showing AB, I kept thinking I've been to this place. The letter told me it was near Calgary, so that made sense. Seriously, I had tears in my eyes from the first scene, and I didn't know why. I sent your video to my 91-year-old dad asking if been to these places, as a girl. I hope he knows. Thanks for your video so that I could have a frame of reference to ask my dad.
Thank you for sharing your memories! This area is south west of Calgary and a beautiful area at that. I hope that your dad remembers and that this is the area you remember as a girl :)
@@dustinwilson3011 Hi there, I just wanted to let you know I sent my dad your video and he watched it. He told me this the road to get to that family friend's place, which was south of "Heartland" near the town of Pincher Creek. I used to love going on that trip -- Calgary to that man's land near Pincher Creek. Also, I remember Pincher Creek well. I named a fictitious monster that name -- Pincher Creek, and would tease my sister with it. I made up for it though with my other fictitious character named "Birdie" (which was my hand with my pointer finger extended for the beak); my sister believed Birdie was real and loved it. I have very fond memories of riding in the car down that road to Pincher Creek from Calgary as a girl, of course, except the part where I would get in trouble for bringing out Pincher Creek -- the monster to tease my sister with. Kids will be kids in the back seat while riding for three hours (or whatever it was). I've never been back, but your video, and this show, figuratively take me back, if that makes sense. Thanks again for your wonderful video and for all the markers that helped me (and really my dad) realize where this is.
@@whispergirl that's awesome that he remembered! I love driving highway 22 down to Pincher Creek aswell as I have family down there :) but Pincher Creek monster away from there Haha But you are very welcome and glad this video helped with such great memories !!
My niece is married to a cowboy and my nieces in-laws have over 160 acres, where they’re located just up the road was an area where a piece of land was used in the show of heartland. It had the camping trailer that Caleb lived in for sometime well it’s no longer there but it was exciting to see. For me to go to my nieces place where her and her husband and two little ones live, you have to take stony trail going west and then it connects you to 22X. It’s now winter in Calgary. The temperature right now is -22 and the windchill feels like -32. Best time to come visit is when it’s spring, summer, fall, unless you can handle our winter, which gets pretty fiercely cold. I just learned yesterday that we have a cold front coming in and it’s not good. The temperatures will be high up in the -30s so that means if you’re outside your fingers will freeze instantly so it’s best to dress warm. ☺️
slow reply , but yes its a beautiful area. I didnt get to see the trailer myself as it was already gone when i went but i know the exact area you are talking about. starting to warm up so people can start to go check some places out for sure haha

Sooo, I deleted a comment I made about it being overgrown and you couldn’t see the ranch house very well. No DUH that it’s overgrown. Filming has been delayed due to Covid-19 and there hasn’t been a reason to trim back the branches.
