    Hi mate is there any chance for me to repair a ripped flex? The flex cable is torn completely in 2 by the connector which was my mistake making a rookie error while opening the phone. I have a new earpiece and am confident with soldering etc but I’m guessing it’s the flex itself that holds the data? Thanks!

      You could maybe scrape away the coating on the flex cable and used thin copper wire to bridge the thr tracses that are broken an recover it with a uv mask buts its a real pain todo

    Did this on an XR. Tested, all working, closed it all up and minute after I got a TrueDepth camera problem message. Where did I go wrong?

    • @sufyanhussain1361
      @sufyanhussain1361 ปีที่แล้ว

      You possibly ripped/damaged flex, possibly got the true depth sensor dirty or there could be weak contact between one of the connectors such as flood illuminator etc. Try open up the phone reseat all connectors, if that doesnt work most likely flex damaged.

    • @griffog2001
      @griffog2001 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sufyanhussain1361 But if that we’re the case it wouldn’t have worked at all?

    • @sufyanhussain1361
      @sufyanhussain1361 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@griffog2001 im talking about the flood illuminator sensor. It may have not been plugged in fully thus allowing no power to it. If that isn’t the case you may have tore a flex.

    • @iDoctorUK
      @iDoctorUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      What Sufyan said - also, the xr front camera assembly at the top of the phone is quite prone to popping out of its little housing when opening the device. its possible it could have slipped out unnoticed and become damaged when closing up the phone. tell tale signs of this are when the top of the screen doesn't quite sit right in the housing.

      You broke your screen while open the phone

    • @venusbleeds
      @venusbleeds 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But my phone is working well how could i break it. Also could it be electro static discharge?

    • @daballaa1
      @daballaa1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You most likely pulled on the LCD flex cable to hard and caused the issue on your screen. They are very delicate. Static discharge wouldn't cause that issue. Now, if your phone didn't turn on at all, then that may have been one of the possible ways the logic board could of got damaged. But your screen just has a line in it so you most likely accidentally pulled on the LCD flex cable to hard when removing it. There's no fix for that. You just have to replace the screen.
