I f'n love this band. They've got it all: sick all around band members, intelligent lyrics, the most brutal breakdowns ever, incredible blasts, awesome tech parts, great stage presence. They seamlessly meld the best genres of metal!
Best compliment I've ever received: saw these guys to a crowd of like 20 so Elliot was sharing the mic with me a bunch. Some random guy came up and told me I sounded just like him. I'm a twig so that was cool
The most important part of this video is not it's classification of genre. Rather, it's the fact that these guys are playing the best music of their kind. The fact that their message makes their music all the more critical of the "system" that created it, and that the music is as technical as it is insulting thereto, makes it so.
@ChevysDontNeedOil Yep. The single greatest night of my life was when they came to ottawa this past september. I carry the energy of that night with me always, as well as the memory of smoking a dub with the guitarist. :)
I love BTM. I cant find another band similar to em. The drummer and guitarists are all fucking beasts! Elliot's monotone growl, a lot of people don't like it, but I feel that's the beauty of BTM. The main focus is on the drums and guitars, with Elliot's monotone growl in the back like a cherry on top a sunday. mmm...sunday.
@XxMoshPittersxX Totally agree with everything you say there, technical death metal can be difficult to listen to sometimes. That's why I'm such a fan of power metal; slow chord changes, fast riffs, lots of solos!
the intro is done in 9/8+8/8 (2 parts), and that, from 0:23-0:43, the crazy riff is done in 10/8, then leads into the first groove with a plain 4/4 climb riff. I cannot wait to write a thesis on math/death metal.
for starters, the song is "society's disposable son" and the band is "beneath the massacre". next, not all songs say their title in the lyrics. if they don't, the title has some sort of symbalism to the lyrics. that is most likely the situation here =P
This shits one of the few tech death bands i love. To, most tech death is too similar, but btm always catches my attention. I remeber when i ordered evidence of inequity bc i was like, beneath the massacre?? Sounds sick! I was right on!
I saw them live last week and let me say that the show was FUCKING SICK Those guys are amazing on stage, they have so much energy. Also the slam was the most brutal I have ever experienced, simply awesome.
@Xenorex247 its not about figuring out, thats not what musics about, music is made for listening and for it to move us, not confuse us and be all like "WHAT THE HELL IS HE PLAYING???" unless you're (in general) so completely not musical that everything is like "WHAT THE HELL IS HE/SHE PLAYING" hehe
If my girlfriend sounded like this, I would actually listen to her.
lmao 🤣😅😂🤣😅
🤣
Right
😂😂
If girlfriends sounded like that I'd actually get one.
12 years on and still one of the heaviest, most brutal bands ive ever heard

I f'n love this band. They've got it all: sick all around band members, intelligent lyrics, the most brutal breakdowns ever, incredible blasts, awesome tech parts, great stage presence. They seamlessly meld the best genres of metal!
Can’t believe this is old enough to where we can label it a classic now! I feel old haha
Daaaaaammmn does this take me back.
Best compliment I've ever received: saw these guys to a crowd of like 20 so Elliot was sharing the mic with me a bunch. Some random guy came up and told me I sounded just like him. I'm a twig so that was cool
Exactly! BTM is one of the worlds best brutal death metal bands and deserve all the respect they can get!
This video glows with a warmth that comforts my soul. Seriously.
From lead role in the new Fast and Furious movie to fronting a brutal metal band, this guy does it all.

Technical deathcore
@@recession81 There's nothing about this band that's deathcore in the slightest. It's brutal tech death.
@@recession81 you're braindead.
I simply love every single second of this song.

Love this song and love this band! So brutal... So amazing!
Picking out a specific part of this song as being badass is impossible. And yes, that is one hell of a fucking proper breakdown.

blasting this song loud actually makes it sound better, you can hear that awesome bass punching lol

This entire album is a straight up eargasm

1:22 "I think smashing the mic into my skull will sound brutal over this."
one of the most talented bands in metal today. killer stuff.
@Xenorex247 Thank you so very much for putting it into words. If there is any most accurate adjective for this song, it is beautiful.
so awesome
You don't get how much this music is TECHNICAL ! They could play exactly the same song twenty or thirty times in a row...
one of the most talented bands in metal today. killer stuff.
@ChevysDontNeedOil Yep. The single greatest night of my life was when they came to ottawa this past september. I carry the energy of that night with me always, as well as the memory of smoking a dub with the guitarist. :)
Don't worry about it broski. All breakdowns sound alike to an extent. You're golden ;)
seen them live in Sudbury in 2008 for dystopia it was amazing, smoked some j's with them too
Holy shit this is technical! Crazy drums and really well written guitar!

@ConnorE3750 I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, lived there until I was 8, I'm 27 now, just went back and visited last month
Time is flying by soo fast
This is fucking amazing.
I expected some kind of deathcore shit, what I got was the best song I have heard this week.
@XxMoshPittersxX Totally agree with everything you say there, technical death metal can be difficult to listen to sometimes. That's why I'm such a fan of power metal; slow chord changes, fast riffs, lots of solos!

every time i listen to this band i feel like fucking exploding. what a band!
the intro is done in 9/8+8/8 (2 parts), and that, from 0:23-0:43, the crazy riff is done in 10/8, then leads into the first groove with a plain 4/4 climb riff. I cannot wait to write a thesis on math/death metal.
lol, I'd love to see you replicate that noise with a guitar.
it will literally take your puny mind forever to teach your fingers to bleed like that.
these guys are so sick live!!
How the drummer can remember all the double bass notes I will never know.
This is technical death metal.
And this is BRUTAL!!!!!!
That's some hectic double kick
triggers don't make you play any faster, they just register the hit and play a sample through midi so its more pronounced
I was almost sleeping until I clicked on this video randomly. HOLY SHIT!
Freaking insanity! I can't believe I didn't listen to these guys before!!
whatever the guitarist takes to play that ridiculously i need.
oh my fucking god, where you been all this years????
My favorite part is when the guy starts banging on his bass, so hilarious, gets me everytime.
SICK!!
for starters, the song is "society's disposable son" and the band is "beneath the massacre".
next, not all songs say their title in the lyrics. if they don't, the title has some sort of symbalism to the lyrics. that is most likely the situation here =P
I love how he brutalizes that bass. Fuckin awesome
In love with this song
@HeavyMetalen666 awesome! when was that show? i live in belguim to!
1:32 Drummer: Hows this bit go again? Oh fuck it... oh hey mum.

@HumanslaughterhouseX Definatly. Two legendary albums!
beatin' that bass like it owes him money!
This shits one of the few tech death bands i love. To, most tech death is too similar, but btm always catches my attention. I remeber when i ordered evidence of inequity bc i was like, beneath the massacre?? Sounds sick! I was right on!
it's definitely got elements of tech death and core. not too shabby.
I saw them live last week and let me say that the show was FUCKING SICK
Those guys are amazing on stage, they have so much energy.
Also the slam was the most brutal I have ever experienced, simply awesome.
The drummer is not bullshitting you ive seen them live and he plays perfectly.
@Xenorex247 its not about figuring out, thats not what musics about, music is made for listening and for it to move us, not confuse us and be all like "WHAT THE HELL IS HE PLAYING???" unless you're (in general) so completely not musical that everything is like "WHAT THE HELL IS HE/SHE PLAYING" hehe
good tune
