  • Vintage Camper, Shasta Compact Garage Kept Since 1972! Retro!
    • Vintage Camper Tour, 1...
    This is my 1972 Shasta Compact! I have been searching for a vintage camper for a long time and after searching for over six months waiting and have multiple trailers sold out from under me I found the perfect camper! This is an all original 1972 Shasta Compact Camper that has been Garage kept all its life! It is complete down to the smallest detail Now I know what you are all thinking Its ashame that this camper has been inside all of its life and has 2 live outside in the hot sun and the freezing winters But after feeling guilty about that myself it is now safely stored indoors at my storage unit! I cant wit to take this camper out with my family! Me and my mother both love metal detecting and treasure hunting! One of our favorite places 2 search is at a special beach in Delaware and after a good storm there are incredible things 2 be found because of the loss of sand! But right after a big storm it can be tricky to find a place 2 stay so we got this and look forward to all the adventures it will take us on! Thank you guys for watching and I hope you come back to this channel for updates on the camper!

    I had one exactly like this color and all. I changed the water pump to electric. The back end wood rotted out from dry rot. It was a wonderful camper. It was turned into a ice fishing house the last I heard. The ice box worked well. Yours is in exceptionally good shape!

      I'm 15 and I'm obsessed with retro stuff, weather its tech, architecture, furniture and especially the cars. I own a 1970s record player with 1970s headphones and i am hopefully getting a 70s TV this week. I like to buy old stuff to prevent others getting hold of them and ruining them.

    Growing up in the Bronx, we had a Shasta Compact! My parents used it and all the kids slept in tents. We went all over with that little trailor, had the best times of my life back then. Can still rember all crowding in on really rainy nites.

    Had one in 1972, loved it but when I towed it with a AMC Hornet, 128hp, did okay with tow until I met a big rig, then I basically lost 25-35 miles per hour. Was great with just a small family, my wife and two boys under 6. Plenty room, good in weather, enjoyed it much, but needed A/ c.

    @MrMcmars77 7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    A couple things... First, what is a "Standard 20 volt service?" Also, this thing is beautiful, so don't go modifying it or changing it or you will devalue it permanently. And one last thing, it looks like that because it's been stored all it's life. If you leave it outside, it won't stay that way long. You'll have leaking seams and everything else. I've had several, trust me on this one...

    • @squeakychairproductions6813
      @squeakychairproductions6813  7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Ok first thing is you caught me with the 20 volt hook up, I ment to say 20 amp Lol. Secondly I am very aware of the value of this camper and im not modifying it in any way because that would be a shame. As for storage it's it being stored indoors and it will remain that way for as long as I own it. I really appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!

      He'd better put some JB Weld on that fan crack or the water will eventually soak the structure around the inside of the fan and his whole roof will rot. At least JB Weld it until he can find a replacement cap. He should check around at some vintage trailer rallies, sites, groups on facebook. Can find tons of replacement parts from originals. Too many people get these little gems and "glamp" them, ripping out all originality. Those people should be shot...keep them vintage as much as possible! How else are future generations going to know what they looked like if we don't keep them original? And I was lucky enough to have been born in 1960 so I was 12 when these came out. I got to see them and enjoy them. I'd like all future generations to experience what I did...I'm glad this youngster is getting that feeling. Its heart warming.

    Nice unit. I would leave it as is. Just some cleaning and you have an unique camper.

    I found a 1971 Kit Rambler all intact too.
    Only thing changed was original curtains.

      What other videos do you do? Do you show things that you dig up on the beaches,? That sounds like that would be interesting too.

    I just purchased the exact same trailer today! It too is in excellent shape albeit some of the original fixtures are gone. Your video helped me see what needs to be replaced to get it back to its original splendor!! :)

    Man, you are so lucky to find this trailer. I must say it is beautiful and so very well kept. I would imagine it was expensive. I love these old type of trailers. I love antiques to.

    Thanks for sharing your Shasta find! I love it! We just purchased a 1972 Twilight Bungalow that’s been refurbished and the storage inside is amazing! Just need to figure out where to install a small shower lol!
