Great interview. I’ve enjoyed Fr. de Souza’s columns in the NP for some time now. Don’t always agree with him but always enjoy how he crafts his point of view. With respect to MAID legislation, I’m pretty much convinced, given how cynical Trudeau et al are, that they see this legislation as a fix for the coming crunch in healthcare as the population ages. There is already anecdotal evidence that assisted suicide is being offered as a “treatment option” and I worry that it will be commonplace soon and offered without embarrassment or shame. From there, it will only be a short time before it becomes “the right thing to do”. The next stop on that train will be when others, the state, or with support of the state, make the decision on our behalf.
UN Agenda 21/30 is an agenda to destroy western civilization. It seems that our "elected" representatives, whether municipal, provincial or federal, are subservient to this cartel. The question is, what is the mechanism that allows this to be so?

What I dont understand is who is pushing for this assisted death? I understood it when you had people who were facing a terminal prognosis but who wants this expanded reach? If the mentally is are not legally competent, who will be asking for this? Their doctors? Their family? This is so dangerous
Remember back about 25 years ago, the man in Saskatchewan who went to prison for his part in the death of his disabled daughter? I no longer recall the details of the case, but this proposed bill seems to enable exactly that.
@@martinliehs2513 he was Richard Latimer and I followed the cases quite a bit as I have a disabled family matter. That case was particularly heart wrenching because the daughter was in terrible untreatable pain. The family was quite loving towards her and I think they snapped under the stress of dealing with her pain. You wouldn't believe how many times my family was told that we should have sent our infant family member to an institution for the "good of the community" because they didnt want to see disabled people like them. Virtual TV has a lot of advantages to live TV because we can easily pick up an interview anytime. I have a request for a future interview or interview(s). I am personally of the belief that Federalism and large and all powerful Centralist Governments cannot manage countries of large land mass where economic diversity, cultural diversity, climate diversity, geographic diversity, even demographic diversity, etc., exists. Common policy of Centralist Government fails to deliver what Government must/should provide. Rome failed, Colonial Rule failed, Former Soviet Union failed, now issues in Canada and the USA reveal distinctly different thoughts related to the list of issues previously mentioned. The current structure of Canadian Confederation is a Colonial relic from a time long ago when some number of Canadian Provinces did not even exist. I have heard the story of Central Government and Multi-Culturalism for all my life. I do not need to hear more. It is time to hear NEWFOUNDLANDERS, ALBERTANS, SASKATCHEWAN, perhaps the YUKON, and Leader of the Assembly of First Nations. The latter groups have been “dictated to” and never been equal partners in Confederation. Canada is a country 10-times larger in population since the time of Confederation, 150 years ago. The Canadian Senate in particular is an anarchism. Only 35% of the Canadian voting population voted for the political party in office. No representation at all in the Province I live ..... for good reason(s). Can the current Confederation change without radicalism? You have many, many Canadians that think change MUST occur. In fact, our neighbour to the south may see change sooner than Canadians. Time for the conversation, those in power do not want to see happen !

So blessed to know Fr. de Souza and I miss his 7:30 pm homilies at St. Mary’s.
Why is the UN not being referenced? Isn’t that where the issue stems?
