  • Drinking apple cider vinegar for health is super trendy these days. But with all that harsh acidic taste, it can be unpleasant to enjoy. Fortunately they figured out ages ago how to make a super refreshing, health boosting beverage by combining vinegar with natural sweeteners such as honey, and other foods believed to have medicinal benefits like ginger, lemons, and salt.
    This recipe makes a flavor concentrate that can be added as a base to make any number of recipes. Use it to make hot, cold or frozen drinks, or add as a sweet & sour ingredient in your favorite foods.
    You can experiment with other types of fruit, or change up the sweetener for a full vegan option. I love including berries to the mix for the bright flavor and amazing color it adds.

    I started making my own ACV a few years ago and I love these drinks. My gut health has improved so much after kicking the soda habit and opting for these kinds of drinks. If I want fizzy, I add seltzer water. Making fruit shrubs is very similar too…so delicious! Great video. Thanks!

      Yes my favorite way to serve it is to mix with seltzer 😊

      Absolutely! You can serve in a large jug already pre-mixed with ice and water or soda

      @@startswithkitchen I made it and it is tasty! I used a bit less vinegar though because the vinegar I have is home-made and a bit strong in flavour.
      The concentrate is great to mix with carbonated water. I have also mixed it with cider and rum, very nice!

      @@startswithkitchen I think I did too much honey. It's sweeter than I'd like. Not bad at all but I would have liked a lil more citrus flavor being prominent.
      I also made a blueberry but that's still steeping in the fridge

    Never heard of this! How long do you think the syrup will last in the fridge?

    • @startswithkitchen
      @startswithkitchen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It has also gone by the name Haymaker’s punch. Since the vinegar preserves it, I have kept it around for a few weeks at a time. After a month the flavor will turn but it usually doesn’t last long enough for that!

      @Omegawerewolfx 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      if you make it to taste, it will not last long

    Could I substitute oranges for lemons in this recipe?

      Sure can, I’ve done it with oranges & lemons together and also just oranges

    Why do you use salt ?

    • @startswithkitchen
      @startswithkitchen  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because it serves as a thirst quencher like Gatorade you need to replenish your salt if you’ve been working hard
