very insightful - I followed this space in depth last year and could not get past the tedious gameplay required to make money, they all had an MLM quality to them- early players made money by dumping on new comers - not a sustainable model. Bummer cuz there seemed to be so much potential. Its still there but no one has really cracked it - it can work if gameplay can be linked to real life usefulness - boring office work getting done by someone playing a game can realistically pay $15/hr. consistently - but no one has linked this yet
I agree with you, the potential is there. However I fear that if a P2E aspect is involved, it’ll be exploited- whether it’s only one “cog in the wheel” or not
I don´t know what you are saying. You skimmed a lot of topics but didn´t give any conclusive arguments, data or in depth examples for your points. I'm sorry for being rude, but this video has a lot more potential. WoW and the other games you´ve mentioned had years and years of development, while axie infinity is a cheap pokemon clone. There are people earning money by playing WoW and FFXIV (Gold Bots). 6:42 Also i don´t see any arguments for innovation or long term potential in Gala games etc. except for trying to put a P2E feature into games. I think if the P2E developers really cared about making a good game where P2E is one aspect instead the sole purpose, these games would be still alive. But let's be honest: They're trying to take a money short cut
Thanks for the comment! It appears we're actually arguing the same side of this topic. The point of this video is that I think P2E has a long way to go, and may never "arrive" simply because putting money first is a bad strategy for building community and loyalty like these other games have done for years.
