Again, great video! I know you're a OMP guy but I've been thinking about the venom for the ease of battery change. I really like the way you do your videos. They're always like hanging with my friends.

Great flight! So what is that squeal noise? I've noticed it on almost all the M4 / M4 Max videos I've watched. Is it just the big pancake motor stirring the air?

I think mine specifically has something wrong with the belt idler up front, due to using preproduction parts. The noise you (and I) hear is louder in this video than most of the Max's I've seen fly in person. There may be some motor noise but most of the noise in mine I think isn't normal.

@@BladeScrapercool, thanks! I'm trying to decide between a SAB 420C or the M4 Max. They both tickly my fancy, but the whine I hear in most of the videos is puzzling.

The Squeal is very likely too high of a Gain on the Governor. Learnt this from a old Kyle Stacey and Bobby Watts Tuning video.

Seems like it gets decent hang time in autos but the blades stop so quickly after landing... What's the cause of the drag?

I think I had some bad bearings in the tail idlers when I first built it, or maybe just overtightened them. Replaced those idlers recently and it's significantly less draggy like my regular M4.

@@BladeScraper I noticed that on all M4s the rotors stop pretty quick after the power is cut... Must be drag in the one way or something. Does it auto pretty good after new bearings?

@@HugeVictor It's no worse than any other 380/420 I've ever had... perhaps a bit better than my Protos 380s were. The one way is smooth and low drag... most of the drag that's there comes from it being a belt drive. If you want a 380 size autoing champion, find one with a torque tube :)

@@BladeScraper Nice, thanks for the input, although I maintain that the Trex 470l I have seems to have a lot less drag and it's belt drive also. No idea where the difference is, I'll find out when I get an m4 max
