“I took a break from CS2, playing some CS…” lmao good to see you back, fella
Also fellow creator created a mod where every single item on find it now has an accurate thumbnail. Every building, every prop. It's crazy good if you plop your buildings! Look it up!
his name slips my mind, but god, the train station he created was sooo good.
@@CustomBoochSully was his name
He is using it in this video..
@@Yoghurtmale8 ah yes, thanks.
I saw this! Sully and is doing wonders with CSL2 modders like him will make this game amazing
For the parking lots, you need the "Better Bulldozer" mod to delete them. You can also delete invisible networks, cims and cars, surfaces, and basically anything you can't bulldoze in vanilla
If you want to delete the parking lot download the mod Better Bulldozer by Yenyang... Also good to have you back!
Thank you this will save me!
@@twodollarstwenty you can also delete these blue adds on the building with it! so no more default adds on buildings to cover up!
@lentsey9363 wow!!
You really need the water mod that makes the water look decent at any distance instead of a puddle and also shows currents!
I didn’t know about this, what’s the mods name?
@@twodollarstwentyI think it's Water Visual Tweaker
@@makdims Yep
That's a great asset for a central station. Super weird how the colours slightly change with each plop. I experienced the same thing with trying to place concrete barriers to detail a median. It was very frustrating.
29:22 as a non native speaker of the english language , it does warm my heart that also native speakers see parasol as a wierd name for it, opposed to Sonnenschirm
The clean textures are probably just what the developers were going for. You'd think mods could easily replace these or add decals, but I don't know anything about modding so idk.
when asset modding arrives I think we'll see a lot of nice buildings and props
theres a texture replacement mod but you have to make the textures for it yourself or import them afaik
They've ammended the geneva convention to add CS2 detailing under explicit examples of Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment
Custom stuff!! Maybe now we can finally see the creators finger prints on a city, this is a classic 2.20 build!
Come on and get your finger prints all over this
Welcome back Two Dollars Twenty
One day, when mods allow it, you could add some extra platforms in that sit above the current ones, perhaps off to one side, so the station becomes 2 layers, which is quite common in Europe. It'd also be a good chance to create interesting track layouts. This might be good for the addition of a city wide metro system for example.
Very cool idea! Keep an eye out for a light rail addition soon 😉
@@twodollarstwenty Maybe have them over the road between the station and harbour so it truly becomes one big hub?
Wow. What you've accomplished here - bravo! 👏
There’s a mod that you can use your keyboard to cycle through the different variations of buildings.
Excellent thank you!
This looks so much like Flinders in Melbourne. I think you ought to use that as a launch point to make that little peninsula/jetty more dynamic!
Either "unlock" a signature building or two, or make this where the city's main subway network also links up!
Glad to see you back. We missed you. Cool episode, and im sure, you'll see with the Icon Asset Library, you are going to have a blast in customization . Can't wait for next week
Yep I saw it and love it! Next episode is even more detailing 😊
Great episode & nice to see you back to detailing! 👌
bro the color thing is the reason i don't play cs2 that much, it just all starts to blend with bright vibrance.
Nice to see you back again!
I used the conc footpath raised up to the train door level for my custom station platforms, worked well for the passengers, though any props I put on it would sink to ground level on a game load :(
He's back!!🥳 really appreciate your videos.
I decided since about late November that I wasn't going to touch this game until asset modding is supported because while the game is somewhat good it's just not enough for me in terms of creativity that I would like but videos like this make me very excited about what asset modding in this game is going to be, so in the meantime I'll just be waiting patiently until asset modding is supported which hopefully is soon.
Excited to see what other modders make for the game! The idea of using that point grid to make parking lots and paint surfaces sounds like it has great potential. Good to see you back too $2.20!
Wow, kudos for sticking it out!
well well well well well well well WELL
This sheltered pathway is so Australian!😂 it remembered me the Cairns airport terminals connection. Also Townsville airport! Also Sydney airport Uber area! Actually things like that are everywhere 😂😂❤
That is so true. Gotta keep it of that sun!
As an industrial electrician I might suggest that a building of this magnitude would have it’s own mini substation with backup generators. Also, if it’s in the old part of town you would probably have above ground electrical lines for distribution. I’ve noticed that a lot of creators use the road power lines too much for city areas that are older. Throwing in substations around town might be a good way to grunge up and get that old town feel.
Also, I’m not sure of other towns but my home city’s older neighborhoods have a lot of superfluous rail lines that are seldom used branching off the main line and in to the factory buildings of old. The lines are rarely ever raised and cross the roads at uncontrolled crossings. I feel like a port town of this magnitude would have relied heavily on rail in their Industrial Revolution stage.
You might even be able to repurpose some of these old rail lines in to metro lines as the city requires as the population grows.
Great comment
I miss you a lot ! You are like a CS pioneer who inspire and find new technique. The build is amazing !
It might be a bit rough but so glad to see you back to detailing, it’s inspiring me to get back to CS2! Glad to see you back!
When I saw the thumbnail, I immediately thought of Hoboken and just like that, you mentioned your inspiration! Very cool to see my home represented.
CS2's color management is absolutely absimal. I cannot comprehend how a team of professionals, working full time on the project could look at this and say: 'Hey, this looks good enough!' This unfortunately means that doesn't matter how good the build is, it won't look nowhere as good as CS1 city would. Can't wait for full graphical mods for CS2 to cover up CO's deficits.
personally wouldnt put a train yard there. But rather a historical area perhaps pedestrian "Dimesyards"
Could be an old trainyard converted into a nice industrial commercial mixed use area.
The actual big yards should be outside of the city for logistic purposes
I see it like that: the station was rebuild in the 50s or 60s after a massive storm. Unfortunately it was built with that hideous concrete roof. But there will be a day when that concrete needs to be renovated and then the old roof will be rebuilt!
Wow. I appreciate all the effort and struggles you went through in this video.
Your cities always look absolutely stunning.
Yep ELT will definitely make this stuff way easier!
Also, if you want a station platform and are feeling bold: go into the Editor and make one! Once you've built your prefab just save it and you'll be able to use it in your builds thereafter... very nice.
I waited so long for this hahah
But good on you for taking a break
they DID do marketing about how depending on what your city is producing, those type of businesses would pop up, maybe thats why theres so much effort in the brands and unique store names!
As an FYI, it’s HOE-BOE-KEN, and it’s located in Hoboken, not Jersey City. Hoboken is its own place :)
you know you could make that parking lot functional with the "two way invisible road w parking" you drwa it in like like the invisible paths and it has parking built in on the sides, then you just use surface tool to add pavement.
Haey man, good to see you back. I hope all is going good for you man.
It is thanks for asking x
Need more of this series! Cant wait to see a NYC styled and scaled city in CS2! Especially with the new detailing mods coming out May 10th
So good!
Classic $2.20 content.
I love that CS2 is improving each day (even if its because the modding community saved it).
Videos like this gives me hope that CS2 is gonna be just as great as its predecessor.
Thanks dude! I think you’ll like the next one for that reason then 😉
maybe the station can have a modern look towards the harbor by using glass if it is available like many really old stations have like they have a new airport terminal like building and also a old heritage building ... good to see you back !!
I am full of joy to hear toure doing some wim city 4 videos. The music is absolutely perfect and i know you use it all the time but it is sublime.
Do have a play around with the silly you drive it missions from the Rush Hour expansion pack. Theyve got some good classic maxis humour and references.
Cant wait for the videos. Hoping to see a good Elevated train. They were great on SC4
Realy looking forward to watch this!
8:50 So good to see you!
There's a mod called Asset Variation Changer that will allow you to lock in the color of an asset so they don't keep changing. Works great for props, but I've noticed the buildings don't seem to function. I'm sure that bug will get sorted out.
For the platform not being raised. Sully was able to compromise with this problem by having the invisible pathway raised to the proper hight and connecting it to the invisible translation, this will make 90% of the platform the correct hight except for when the passengers are boarding the train which will revert back to the same level as the track.
Would be cool if once you get more find it and move it features you change the roof to glass and add in some actual platforms for the tracks. Would be an awesome custom station
can't wait for the new oceania episode
Can't wait to see Simcity 4, recently reinstalled that and can't believe that there are still mods being created for it, it's aged so well
There is a mod you can use to cycle through asset colours (Asset Variation Changer) by just hovering the asset and pressing the arrow key.
Looks so cartoony compared to Oceania. There's some nice mechanics in CS2 - just wish they'd added them to CS1...
I agree though CSL1 was cartoony too just with better textures (and then also not). I’m really hoping this is improved with mods
They couldn't add anything to CS1 anymore really. It was just too limiting the old engine it was built on.
He's back!
Can't wait for SC4 content - are you doing modded or just vanilla to start?
I’ll start fairly vanilla and we’ll add mods and assets as we go 😊
This could be not possible to do but you could make one of the train lines go in a loop around the downtown area underground and have 4 or 5 sunken subway stations the people can use to travel around the city. Then you can extend the train lines from the loop downtown area to the rest of the suburbs. Also, next to the train station where you said you're thinking of building a bus depot. I think it would be cool to extend that land over the water and build an Olympics sports village instead of another harbour because of the transportation accessibility of tbat area.
this was a fun video
You could also add a bus depot/main station to this build
To add more realism you should make the railroad connect earlier so their is only one bridge span instead of two.
Reminds me so much of Rautatientori, Helsinkis central station
If you have any questions, id love to answer them! I have lived in New Jersey all my life.
Do some extra dead end tracks and fill them in with dev mode passenger train props to represent trains not in use (also have gravel or concrete as suriseva under the tracks)
The Infrastructurist did a vid on a custom bus interchange that you could try.
Can you pls finish sunset city in CS1??! You had so many good plans, like an airport that I was dying to watch. You’re leaving us on a cliffhanger here! What happens to Mike Burgensy? What happens to Fabian? I would love if you could finish that city once and for all! Hope you have a good day!
Hey Dollar, you're gonna want to hear this (If you haven't already). This mod called EXTRA 3.0 on PDX Mods will be coming out on Friday (May 10th). And just by looking at the trailer, It might save CS2 :D
I’ve actually got a video already made using that mod 🤫 watch out for it on the weekend or earlier
@@twodollarstwenty oooooooooh :O
you should add a connecting path between the harbor road and the waterfront path
HI 2$20, I think you should build an area for buses or trams near your train station; sense the area is still developing and it would be sad to rip out a bunch of buildings layer down the line
You read my mind
Very Flinders Street vibes
fun!
Where can we find the mods you're using in this map ?
New Mod Called "Extra3.0" Just released, allowing to add wear and tear and decals. You should check it out for next video
I’m all over it!
@twodollarstwenty will we ever get to see Shirly and Sunset city??????? .... btw amazing episode :D
Land appeared out of nowhere at 39:30
The goat is back 🙏
I was about to ask where the video was on your twitter post and HERE WE ARE!
Looking forward to your next one with asset icon library 😃
Grand Central terminal*
In my city the people are sometimes not using the paths, both normal or unvisible. The are just going where they want, even if there is a building, they go through. Wish they would follow the ways I was building like here in front of the station. Don't know how to solved this
I can't even get the game to start anymore and that is after doing 2 uninstalls/reinstalls. To be fair though I was playing the Gamepass version and my guess is there is files buried in a "temp" folder somewhere.
Are you gonna make some manor lords content?
I could never do a full custom, i need full assets lol
What is the mode to get parcking place with road 13:23 we can see it in the menu. This 36:21
bro us making new York while i fail to fix the damn traffic💀💀
melbourne vibes
Very much so!
You look like Travis Head
try manor lords!
I’m tempted I love games like that! I just don’t think it has enough creative elements to it just yet
I recommend the "Better Bulldozer" mod. You can specifically select to delete paths. I find it useful for seeing and deleting invisible paths.
Thank you I’ll check it out
Wow that build took an iron will, I felt tired just watching you manually align hundreds of tiny props..
See I feel the exact opposite. I don't like the generic burger shops and other generic buildings. One of my favorite things to do in CS1 is building my own shopping centers with all my favorite stores and restaurants. To me, most of the generic options look like they had less than 10 seconds of thought put into them. They feel like "burger shop" "toy store" "shop" - it feels lifeless and uninspired to have all these nameless shops and restaurants.
On the other hand, when YOU make your own and your own stories to go with them, now that's a totally different story!
That’s interesting. I know most people prefer real life brands probably for that reason. The brands are pretty generic so we’ll definitely have to go in later with some custom ones 😉
Dude, it reaaallly feels like you're just not enjoying CS2. I'd love some more CS1 while we wait for the mods to kick in!
I struggled with this build that’s for sure but it was still enjoyable. mods will kick in this weekend 😊
@@twodollarstwenty In all honesty, it's just great to have a two dollars video - keep it up bud
What mod is that at the 30:02 mark?
I believe that’s Find It
Sounds different this video
Are mods finally available.?
Yep! Code mods and maps, no assets yet.
Don’t burn yourself out man, if you wanna go back to OG CS or Sim City 4 I garuntee you nobody would be upset, and hell I’m sure people would wanna see those videos too
@the dollars twenty
Could you not just use the invisible paths to elevate the platforms and then add the “ platforms “ you were trying to use levelling up both so the sims won’t behave like they were ?
Idk just a guess , I don’t play the game but I love watching your videos .
Take care
From London Uk
there 8000 assets in the game now ,i think thats a lot ,this only vanilla,in 8 years maybe you have 50k assets.
I’m happy with that we just need some cool custom buildings now!
are you going to build the path train system the nyc subway system the hudson bergen light rail and the new jersey transit and the metroi north commuter rail and the long island railroad
No offense, but why would a main station open up onto the coastline? You want people to be in or at the centre. It would have made massivly more sense to bend the tracks to the right after the bridge and have the central station open up into downtown. A central station is not a destination but more like a central point and that should be...central.
As it is right now, its more like a destination to stay at or to visit, like a park at the coast and everyone arriving there needs to take another public transport to get into downtown or have a walk, thats too much for most commuters.
Having a "central" station on the waterfront _on a peninsula_ isn't the most brilliant idea...
We take modders for granted they are like 30 percent of the game yes I just said that with out them the game dies in 3 years max
