I never thought the passing of someone I never had the opportunity to meet would sadden me so much. Much love and respect for this video, you definitely did a great job.
Yo, someone said that the key to Immortality is to live a life worthy of remembering and that speaks of Adam so much! He always be worthy of remembering. He ‘s the man and He always was and always will be! By the way I love this video. My fave of all the Tributes I've seen and I think it would have been one of Adams too. Such a nice way to honor him.
as a fan that's devoted thousands of hours to beastie boys related stuff i must say this tribute video is great. awesome editing. you managed to pick out stuff that portrayed yauch in the way we all will remember him for. especially like the picture slides in the end showing him from start to end.
Great job. This video is f#$king superb. My take has been this: I did not know this man. I never met this man. He was a voice, a sonic reproduction coming from a needle dragging across a groove on an LP, or a digitized 1 or 0 on a shiny disc. On two separate occasions, we have been in the same building, him on stage, and me a face in a very large crowd. We never spoke. Our paths never crossed. I did not know this man. So why do I feel so sick and sad? R.I.P. MCA
So much given so much lost so many great moments of my life were engulfed with your awesome sounds so much groove and so much style. Thank you so much, you are being missed already and left a void that will never be filled R.i.p. Your legacy will go on forever
mad respect. thanks for making this man. Yauch will always live on!!! He taught me so much and impacted the world more than he ever would have known. Personally I would not be the person I am today if it weren't for him. So mad respect and thanks to MCA and so much love to Adam H and Mike D.
Yo, someone said that the key to Immortality is to live a life worthy of remembering and that speaks of you Adam so much! You'll always be worthy of remembering. You're the man and always were and always will be Rock on Bro and we'll see ya soon!

and im sure he would have loved it. he was always keeping an eye on the boards too and seemed to appreciate and realize the impact they made for people on there. he even knew peoples board names and shit.
Great work on this! It's indeed a beautiful tribute to a truly beautiful man. I think your edit really hits it's stride when the vocals kick in at the 2:00 mark. It literally gave me tears of joy. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this, it's helping a lot of people heal during this time of great loss. You also couldn't have picked a better track to cut this to. "A Year And A Day" has always been the musical embodiment of everything that I love, respect, and will miss dearly about MCA.
I can't figure out how to send a private message to you, but I will do the PWR2MCA fist thing this weekend. When I get paid, I also am going to donate to his Free Tibet group--I think that might be something he would have wanted. My heart still aches (quite literally) over his death. The terrible finality of it still stops me in my tracks. Thank you again for the video--you truly captured the joy and exuberance of Yauch and his Beastie brothers. It really does help to watch it.
Wow...what a Powerful tribute..Fantastic job - you were able to show all things Adam was to everyone. I'm gonna download and keep this...Thanks....I really wish I could get my hands on a copy of an interview done by an independent Los Angeles Music weekly, it was of the Boys just after License to Ill exploded on the scene and they were at the record company gearing up for the tour, one of the funniest no holds barred interviews ever, you knew they were gonna be around for years to come.
Well, it's hardly a challenge to find gorgeous photos of the man! But I appreciate what you said so much. It means a lot to me to hear you say that. I didn't want to do a slow-paced, depressing tribute. I wanted it to reflect his amazing life; not the sadness of his death. He packed a lot into those 47 years. And we were privileged to witness him doing it. It feels great to know that this video might give his fans a tiny bit of comfort. We need it right now. STAND TOGETHER.
Wow! I got to say you got me with this video. Adams death never fully registered with me until seeing this. I kept telling myself that naw this was some Andy Kaufman like prank and everything would end up being alright as crazy as that sounds. And then I see this and something about it made reality finally sink in( 3:50 really hit home). Fantastic tribute and editing of some clips I've never seen set to a superb track. R.I.P MCA
the main song is called "A Year And A Day" (the fourth track in the B-Boy Bouillabaisse on Paul's Boutique). I spliced the instrumental version onto the front of it. (There are also samples of "Pass The Mic" and "Sounds of Science" at the start.)
Hi Thanks for the info on reaching Ben Escobedo, the problem is the interview was in a small Los Angeles underground music scene monthly that like many others has been gone for a long time. But if I do locate the it I'll let you know so I can get a copy to you..I remember it starts with the epic line ----"HEY !!!! burped Adam Yauch..aka MCA..How do you spell sauce ? " ( the boys were sending out for burritos from a still famous hole in the wall down the street from Capitol.
Hey what a great, unique tribute vid. Awesome work! So many tribute vids go over the top with super sad music and thousands of fade ins/outs. This vid really shows what an interesting guy mca was and celebrates his life and all the good times he had as a beastie boiiiiii!
Thanks for the reply..the bummer is it's a printed article from a since defunct LA underground Music weekly..but i will email and ask him anyway,,Thanks ( I was working with a couple of bands touring out of LA and picked up the mag while getting supplies for our upcoming road trip, think i found it at the infamous liquor store on Crescent Heights and Sunset next to the Comedy Club
The audio? Or video? I would be happy to share either! Use keepvid DOT com or Google "TH-cam to mp3". Hope this helps! Message me if you get stuck! xoxo (PS. If you want the original; call Paul's Boutique and ask for Janice. Their number is 718-498-1043.)
Ahhhhh. You have much to learn, grasshopper. You must consult the Beastievideo Grandmaster for help in this matter. Google: "Ben Escobedo porkys1982" - it will take you to his Vimeo page and you'll find his email there. Seek his help. I am certain he'll have the tape you speak of in a dusty box in his garage!
THANKS dude; any support for the project would be dearly appreciated! My email is mspacman723 AT gmail DOT com (and my name is Sarah) xoxo THANKS for your lovely words
