Another fantastic steal. Totally agree another RB needed and another CB. Don't forget guys look at the amount of games we'll be potentially playing this year without any injuries or suspensions. Would be amazing if we could bring back Drahma, but you never know who else our Blues have In their sights. KRO guys

When you think about the volume of games it really does add to that need for depth. So glad we have good strength down our left side now. I would also love Drameh to come back but I'm not sure if he will drop down to League 1. I think he has proven he is a high-end championship player. Who knows, we seem to have a bit of pulling power so anything can happen.

Bring back dramah and get 2/3 centre backs imo. At least 1 left footed cb too. Then I'd be more than happy with our defensive line up. On top of that another striker then we are ready to rock.
This is a good signing ,we definitely need 2 in each position for competition ,that was our major problem last season , very encouraging going forward

It gives us excellent flexibility in systems we can play, Buchanan played very well at CB when needed and he’d be excellent as the left of a 3. Also if we do play with 4 at the back the energy the fullbacks will need will be immense and being able to bring on a replacement to maintain the high energy tempo will be huge.
Finally we could be playing 60+ games this season. We’ll need a small nation sized squad!! When we go away to Wrexham the sheep will be outnumbered!!
It's great to start getting a bit of depth in certain areas and even better that we have versatile players. As you mention Buchanen playing CB if needed etc.
That's a really good point about keeping up the high energy and tempo. We need serious squad depth and fitness levels this season. Exciting times ahead!

Someone for Buchanan to think about is good news. Potentially Alex is a very good signing who is a good age, gets forward and may pop in a goal or two which has been sadly lacking from defenders for ages. KRO.

Watched a video and he reminds me of a mix between Gary Pendry but attacking like Julian Dix the oldies like will remember .

Buchanan and Cochrane will probably both be in the team at the same time. You find spaces for your best 11 especially if a few are adaptable in positions. Left side is looking very strong, a couple loan signings from Spurs and well be looking very handy. We need another forward to complement May. KRO

This is a very good signing in my opinion and makes us very strong on the left side. We will also need additions to strengthen the right side, central midfield and upfront as well as a good strong centre back. KRO and kind regards (Gary)

Absolutely and really good point. He is really versatile so if we can start to get further depth in numbers in other areas of the pitch I think we will be okay. A lot more to come through the door this pre-season :)

Gents, the squad is taking shape nicely. Equally, these new players seem equipped to step-up to the Championship if/when we’re promoted - which is obviously a recruitment strategy. Good times at Blues. KRO 👍🏻

They did say they want a championship ready squad ready for when we get back promoted so fair play for being true to their words as we have copped some absolutely great signings so far and we're only just getting going as well. A lot more players to come in.

I know it frustrates fans sometimes when things appear to be slow or things appear to be dragging with various targets but for the first time in years the club is being ran professionally and I’m really impressed with the way we are going about our business. KRO and kind regards (Gary)
Solihull Moor 0 Blues 3. Things are getting better. As for Cochrane, another player smart enough to recognise a good thing. Someone at Blues is doing a fantastic job at finding and hiring these bargain players. A Charlton fan on TH-cam was furious they'd let Alfie May go.

Its getting pretty ruthless now, good competition for places will produce better performance , but I wish people would stop harking back to the good old days, focus on the here and now - or as was said in Matrix Resurrections -

This is the sort of signing that all those fans that overreacted (significant) following the first friendly of the season.
Blues are doing their business and doing it well and another signing into the club with plenty of time left before we kick the season off on the 10th August.
Two quality players for each position is going to provide competition for places as well as being able to rest players. Of course, keeping the squad happy will be a challenge, but i think the competition for places benefits far outweighs the potential problems of keeping the squad happy.
Hopefully we will play a lot of games with the cups on top of our league campaign.
We definitely need numbers but what i like is that all the signings so far are of a really high quality/standard and are players for now and next season too in the championship (provided we get promoted of course).
This signing is one for now and one for the future.

I very happy, he is very good at pushing a ball up the pitch with confidence. Can dink a ball to feet very well. To our new AML player weve just signed thats just making this one peachy team for the season.

If Dixon is not be picked because of his attitude he will not last long under Chris Davis he needs to be reminded he has achieved nothing in football he can disappear just has quick and he every lucky lad to have opportunity Kro
I have heard several times that Dixon has bags of ability and has a really bright future but sometimes can have a bad attitude. I hope CD can really work with him, develop him and get the best out of him as he could be a real player in the future!

I would have preferred Harrison Burrows LB with 12 goals & 18 assists last term for Peterborough! He is a better attacker than Cochrane as he's also scored 6 goals from midfield including AM & CF positions! 🏴KRO!
From what I read Burrows is heading the championship. This is a big disadvantage of the drop is that players could be tempted by playing at a higher level but I have no doubt we would be able to match and if not offer higher wages it's just having the conversation and getting them to stay or drop to this level.
I think Cochrane is an excellent addition and offers us some more depth down that left side now which is really great. Just need to get more depth across more of the squad :)

Still waching the video so maybe you will touch on the subject but two observations. Ive seen comments regarding him and they say he is prone to be out of position defensively and gets invo.ved in yellow and red card situations. Where does this left hand side leave Anderson. Do you think he will be back up?
Next point. How do you see junior dixons situation... loan or sell?

To be honest listening and speaking with a few hearts fans they have said we have a real gem and player on our hands who should possibly be at the championship level so interested to know if that is true. I didn't see any huge indications of this but of course the internet can only tell us so much so you could be right. I still think we have bagged a quality player here and gets more depth into the squad which is fantastic.
I think Anderson will probably be on the bench most games. I can see Hannsen being our go to starter but he will rotate a lot for cup matches and the big schedule we have etc so he will get minutes I'm sure but competitive league games I see Hannsen as the starter.
It's hard to tell with Dixon but I think the fact he didn't go to Austria makes me think we might be eyeing up a loan move for him. I hope we don't sell him as I think he could be a real asset in a few years time.

I think it's great that we are aiming for 2 in each position now. Good for competition and squad depth. Both are versatile with Buchanan able to play in the middle and Alex also able to push up as well. Very good signing for a lot of reasons here :)

Thank you for your comment Dave. In today’s market and for this type of player £1.3 million represents great value. I’m really surprised and pleased that other teams didn’t come in for Alex as from what I’ve read he could have easily gone straight into the Championship. KRO and kind regards (Gary)

Thank you for your comment. I have to say, I’ve been impressed with the quality of the signing so far and I’m sure we will be the envy of many teams in the division who will have nowhere near the amount of money we have to spend.
Also, remember that we are in League One so even if we had mega millions to spend on players it is highly unlikely that that level of players would want to come down to this level. We may now be a club with money to spend but there are still financial rules we have to comply with.
I think the club are doing well and getting the types of players we need to get out of this division. I also think the players we have bought are with an eye on the future and are really good building blocks to take us forward. KRO and kind regards (Gary)
