I'm a big fan of your show. I've been watching it for a couple years. It's very informational. I'm sure a lot of us don't have $10,000 worth of equipment for catching fish... Can you make a vid of you fishing a first time lake with just a map?
Clayton, you can help fish with trauma by turning on the aerator and water circulator in your live well and let them rest for a few minutes before release. forces super oxygenated water into hem
Great video as usual! I would love it if you could show what walleyes and other fish look like on side scan on the Garmin. I am struggling with that. Thank you!
I will try to do that soon as the fish are moving back into the shallows. Sometimes when you are in 25-30 feet it is hard to see them on side imaging :)

Couple of reasons, one was a quote from a guy that is involved with Humminbird saying "Clayton I am not even sure what you do for us" Number two the Garmin live imaging is light year ahead of the Mega Live... I have noticed so much of a difference between the two.
Hey Clayton, been watching a lot of the vids recently, and just wanted to ask if you had any tips for this lake? went out to it for the first time 2 weeks ago and while we were with some friends who new it a bit more, it was still a bit of a struggle as we are used to some of the smaller lakes a bit to the south east. haha, i typed this up right before the end of the video, thats pretty funny. i'll have to take a closer look at some of those details to try to understand what the fish like at that lake.
Love this time of year. The fishing is really heating up. Only problem is I have a ton of work to get done. Did manage to get out and pulled a 28" the other night. Go easy on the root beer 😂 🍻
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Great, you could try corn, worm, or bowfishing. I fillet a small one, but I recommend cutting off the meat by the oily skin and the midline of the fillet. There's a bunch of Y bones in it. I fed some to my pet dog, which I figure is a good use other than burying the fish.
I’m not a guide. But I do love putting people on fish and just sit back and watch grab bait and help the youngsters as much as I can. I’ve been pretty blessed with the caliber fish I have caught. And I’m not the greatest of fishermen but it’s always been a part of my life and my 23 year old daughter is always ready to go in the boat. And she is a stick. Been a joy watching her grow up with that in her life.

Awesome Clayton‼️Mondo Walleye. I’m getting pumped for the ice season. I’m building my lake trout setup based on your recommendations. Had a question on the line. On your 30 lb suffix 832 ice braid are you finding spools bigger than 50 yds? That’s all I can find and with a 3000 size reel 50 yds seems pretty shallow even with a 15-20 ft fluorocarbon leader.
Just run backing :). Ice braid sells in smaller spools so they can keep the cost down a little bit. I should note also if you are going to fish inside a shack the ice braid isn’t as important.
