Chris brother I'm begging you it's literally just filling out the shapes. You have 4 empty holes and 2 kinds of crabs. One that occupies one space, and one that occupies two spaces. Which kind of crab occupies 4 spaces with just 2 copies of it, since the altar tells you that you need 3 total (counting the big Decorator Crab which you already inserted)? Do not take a trip to the Marrows just to catch 2 crabs my soul will literally leave my body.

I put my crab pots in the opening of the Marrows Bay as markers. That way when I'm barreling through the fog at full speed I have some cheeky extra bouys to help guide me

It says "three crab-like creatures, the largest with decorations". The big t-shaped crab is covered in rocks, place it in the middle bottom as an upside-down T, then the rock crabs vertical to either side. I saw it immediately, nearly shouting at the screen. It's right there! :)

Do you know what's better than someone speedrunning the game with optimal moves? Watching Odd have a heck of a lot of fun. I've never played the game, but I'm enjoying this playthrough very much.
So just a heads up theres a quest series from robed figures that require so late game fish once youve talked to them your on a time limit and seeing your play style your going to fail that time limit so hold off until you way later
Dude... don't be so afraid to go out at night, it's mostly scary when you haven't had enough sleep and you can observe that based on the eye that freaks out.
i have noticed evend drenching 3 pieces took 4 hours. My guess is the fishing speed is not about how fast the minigame rotates real time, but how much ingame time passes. Maybe both.
1. Docks and Light Buoys DO NOT DAMAGE when you hit them (didn't test high speed tho) 2. You can just drop all crab pots next to trader, spacing them out doesn't make them better. And it's safer than next to a rock ;) 3. The encyclopedia told you that the single-space crabs DO NOT exist in Gale Cliffs. And not sure why you look for shallower spot if encyclopedia said "0-82 ft". If you want them, you need to visit Marrow. But do you want them? ;)
You can just press Y when docked to move things from your ship to the storage btw, and ya might wanna check the net before ya sell to make sure you don't have something ya need elsewhere.
And the vessel evolves!!! As always I love watching your progress and your learning process trying to figure things out as you go. I'm still enthralled with this game. I wonder if at some point the boat will be crazy enough to go through long journeys at night. That would be cool to watch!!!
As a former DM, watching Chris struggle with the RIDICULOUSLY OBVIOUS CRAB PUZZLE brought me back. Why is it so common for people to overthink the most basic, simple puzzles...
You may want to actually go into the cliffs before moving onto another area, and you don't need explosives to explore some of it. There is a lot in there to find when the leviathan leaves to do its rounds. Just don't forget to explore the area with your gamer senses "on" - without giving any spoilers. That was some good fishing today. 🎣
I was screaming at the screen every time he was looking at entrance to the cliffs and when he checked map. HE KNOWS he needs to go there, he just teases us :
Trying not to post any spoilers either but he should pay close attention to the quest details for the family crest and look for the area it describes...
I havent played the game so I dont know its a think but sometimes looks like the wind trying to show you the way. It becomes very colourfull 27:08 - 27:17 . nice playtrough by the way
I'm playing this game myself + watching a bunch of people play it on youtube, and... yeah, I'm also not great at driving the boat, especially in the tight places like Gale Cliffs when being chased by the big monster. Some people I watch seem to hardly ever damage their boat, but I'm with you on needing to repair frequently! haha
Odd going turbo and drifting into everything- call that 2fast2furious: gale cliffs boat addition lmaoooooo. One day Odd will learn the art of the boat drift lol😂
I believe you should focus your research on engine and fishing pole. Especially the JET DRIVE ENGINE its the most efficient until the second last engine. Install all jet drive in all engine slot. And focus on speed. Get explosion when you do the whaler men quest

4 spaces left for 2 crabs.... can't be the 1 square ones. Also i would assume these area challenges can be done in their area. So until you research equipment for all it's enough to use what's needed in that area, and explore fully that zone. Reminder net's advantage it got it's own space for fish and works automatically, Crab pots are easy to use if placed near fish market (far from rocks with that bumper car driving skills lol), can be emptied even late before sleep or starting around 4 am to empty them.
Sorry Odd. By this episode you got me so I interested in the game I bought it for myself. It was cheaper than when your playthrough convinced me to buy a PS4 to play the God of War reboot so there is that. :p

Yes I like to have crab pots at all the biomes and agreed having two at either end of the Marrows entrances as extra guides around the rocks at night.
As long as they aren't broken (need repairs). The pot lights stop working then.

You don't have to think about the placement in the crab quest just put the crabs. And also you need 2 rock crabs in that

Try placing crab pots at different depths, like 30 ft.

I think the Lobster rock shrine needs two of the 2x1 lobsters and one of the big red T-shaped lobsters like you dropped off

That's what I did. The Jet Drives are nice. Expensive cause they are about $300 a pop but worth it in the long run.
