I would next recommend ' Rehna Tu' from the same movie delhi 6. I hope This 7 minute long unique composition of A.R.Rahman will drive you both crazy. It's my favourite from this movie.
Delhi 6 is referring to Old Delhi. The full postal code of the area must be 110006 (110 for Delhi and 006 for the specific locality in which the film is set). A dove is just a white pigeon I think. There may be differences in size but they are essentially the same species. Masakali is the name of the dove in the film. The translation skips the name in favour of "white dove" to give context to someone who hasn't watched the film. The song is really about the girl through the metaphor of a dove. It is not unknown in Indian music for a male singer to be the inner voice of a woman. I suppose it goes back to the days when the performing arts were not considered a respectable occupation for women. So men had to sing everyone's thoughts irrespective of gender.
Mohit Chauhan is an absolute Legend ! His voice alone speaks music especially that melodic hook in this song is like an instrument in itself :) .... Btw, have you guys checked the 'Rockstar' soundtrack (AR Composition) where Mohit Chauhan had sung some of the best tracks ever !

We were happy for an Indian to win but it just did not make sense because we felt that SM was a basic album. In hindsight it’s ARR’s only basic album till date. Every single song in Delhi 6 is an absolute gem: Masakali, Genda Phool, Rehna Tu(whose MTV Unplugged version is GOLD), Dil Gira Daftan heck even the silly Kala Bandar. P.S: Masakali is not an actual word. The lyricist Prasoon Joshi came up with the word when they were composing the songs and the decided to name the dove in the movie Masakali to fit the song.

Mohit Chauhan is divine and precious - His talent does not belong to any random movie or music album The music of this film is Gold, it's classic. But the movie is a disaster. The sale of music albums helped the film to recover from the loss.
AR Rahman was not pleased with the director of this movie because he refused to use and picturize whole version of these songs. They went with curtailed version of songs for the film.
RD BURMAN WAS KING OF PERCUSSIONS, HE PROBABLY MADE 1000s OF SONGS WITH DIFFERENT RHYTHMS AND STYLES. ONCE YOU START LISTENING TO RD BURMAN THERE IS NO GOING BACK I DON'T KNOW HOW HE GOT THE PERFECT QUALITY MUSIC IN THE 8 TRACK ERA
She used to be Coldplay’s fashion designer for most probably 2 years, I don't remember exactly! That's why I said worked and that's why Coldplay requested her to be in that video

I m not sure that movie would be a good watch.. Although I haven't seen it myself so wont judge but I do remember that this movie was appreciated for its music composituin rather than the story itself and yes the music and songs are awesome.. Massakali is such a difficult song ti sing but a soothing one to listen.. Translations simplify things but it has many tongue twister that are sung in fast pace ..
