A tip for the future: u can actually color fabrics using regular paint(like acrylic f.e.) but you have to use a lot of water and wet the fabric, too. Basically ends up working like a fabric dye. If you ever try to do this try youtubing something like "upholstery painting" to get a clearer idea. Ladies out there be literally repainting their velvet sofas and it actually works. My mind was kinda blown

You might enjoy getting a small cheap airbrush and compressor. Depending on the paint it will only change the texture a bit, close to what the pens do. Just don't do a heavy coat. Otherwise I'd suggest looking into japanese brand fabric markers, i personally find they are better saturated!
for withered foxy, when you want his ear to retain its rigidity, try cutting out a piece of cardboard and glue it between two pieces of fabric. really helps with the stability of it!

Fabric Spray Paint is a thing. It works pretty well, and you would probably have fun with it.

Try fabric medium. You mix it with acrylic paint. Ive used this misture for painting jeans and its not as gloopy and textured as using fabric paint.
