I am *Pentecostal Apostolic* from *Toronto, Ontario, Canada* & we always have an opening prayer & a closing prayer during Sunday service. Our Tuesday prayer meeting which used to be in the sanctuary has now been moved to zoom & is attend by most of the Saints of the church. We also have first Saturday fasting which is not well attended, but which I love to attend. Also, since Covid I attend a zoom prayer meeting every Thursday evening & every Saturday morning with Saints from my region, other provinces & other countries. Prayer requests are sent to an email address so they can be prayed for during the zoom session or we place them in the chat during the session & they are read out loud & one of Saints will lead in prayer about them while we listen & pray & worship silently while that Saint is praying. We always cover the Saint who prayed against spiritual backlash as we understand prayer can be spiritual warfare. We also have a time of testimony where prayers that were answered are spoken about & we give God praise.
I personally don’t consider myself good at prayer, although I am drawn to prayer & Saints who pray. I admire people who seem to have a flow when they play. On occasion I am asked to lead in prayer on Tuesday nights & I do it out of obedience although I am not comfortable doing it. Prayer for me is an intimate exchange between God & I where I’m expressing myself to God & I don’t want anyone else to hear. I tend always to be talking to the Lord about things as I go throughout my day but I’d like to improve on my prayer life. I much prefer attending a prayer meeting over evangelistic service. I find a good prayer service we are corporately gathering for prayer together also have the opportunity to pray privately in that corporate setting is edifying for me.
*In prayer we try to allow the Holy Spirit to pray through us & be led by the Holy Spirit as we pray.* 🇨🇦😮

I love the insight that Pastor H. B. Charles gives us concerning prayer. Prayer is absolutely essential in the life of a Christian. God responds to prayer!

Apostle Paul taught us to pray incessantly. Jesus showed us prayers were personal communication with God. I pray anywhere, anytime, and for anyone more than myself or my immediate family. God always bless us, and we have resources to pray on behalf of the needy.

GOD have Mercy!!! 😮 If we Love Him - we will want to Know Him, Worship Him, Adore Him, Talk to Him, Obey Him, Serve Him, Trust Him, Honor Him, GIVE Him all the Glory, (He told us to Ask, Seek & Knock & to keep asking, seeking, knocking). He is the LIVING WORD!!! Jesus said: if you are thirsty come & drink of the water of Life, if you are Hungry come & eat! Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, the Life, the Door! He is your redeemer - thank Him & Praise Him "HE Lives in them Midst of the praises of His people! He Loves you He paid & purchased you back on the cross!!! Read His Word!!!!

💯!! You can NOT trust Him or pray to God if you don’t know Him and His character without the reading of scripture🤷🏽‍♀️ Just read and meditate on it. This is the abiding that John 15 talks about. Jesus wants and expects fruit if you claim to be His disciple. Let’s get about our Fathers business and pray for the Holy Spirits help, guidance and wisdom🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Awaiting the illumination of the Holy Spirit

Ask. Repentance is dispensable to be a fully committed believer. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary to declare yourself not just a Jesus follower, but born again. Total surrender and sanctification.

I commented halfway , but I should have waited for the end.
It's rather disappointing to find out all Minister's home prayer life is rather lame. Well with all due respect, it's a need to start at home before the 100000 out there...😢😢😢

THE # 1 ELEMENT OF A PRAYER LIFE.
The Lord Jesus said, he that believeth in me, OUT OF HIS BELLY ""' SHALL FLOW RIVERS OF LIVING WATERS'''". THIS HE SPOKE OF THE SPIRIT.
YOU MUST BE """" FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT""" TO HAVE THE PRAYER LIFE GOD HAS ORDAINED US TO HAVE.
YOU MUST PRAY AND ASK GOD TO FILL YOU WITH THE HOLY GHOST. IF THE RIVERS OF WATERS ARE NOT FLOWING OUT OF YOUR BELLY, THAT MEANS OBVIOUSLY """" YOU ARE NOT FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST"""". BECAUSE IF YOU ARE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST, YOU CAN """" EFFORTLESSLY PRAY ALL NIGHT LONG""""""
SEEK GOD TO BE """""FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST'""""
Very sorry to say, THESE GUYS ARE """GLUELESS"""""
This is the aftermath of The prevailing FALSE DOCTRINES IN THE """"MAJORITY OF CHURCHES"''. THAT CONVINCE YOU THAT YOU ARE FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST, WHEN IN FACT, YOU ARE NOT, BUT ARE DRY AS A BONE.

I am trying to imagine what it would be like to be so bashful and unable to express my own thoughts to need sinething as hokey and gimmicky in pastoral care as to need cards.

a 'how to' intellectualization might equal a waste of time. who cares about so much structure, focus, and man-centred effort. man... how much of God is in this?

    • @User_Happy35

I found some of this discussion helpful. Having structure helps some of us to continue to pray even when you're not "feeling" like it.

I belive what He's expressing is Roman's 8 for prayer.
