  • Here's a quick repair I did to replace the 3.5mm jack on the Bose QC20i noise cancelling in-ear noise cancelling headphones. It's not too pretty, but it works.
    Edit: I also managed to fix my other QC20's with the broken earbud and broken noise cancelling the help of tweezers, fine nosed pliers and super glue, and this video: • How to Fix White Noise...

    Just want to say that I appreciate you so much for doing this and posting it! It is not a thing that gets a ton of views due to how specific it is, so I really appreciate when people like you post things like this, for practically the sole purpose of helping others. You saved me a ton of time (and money, which, being a student, is fantastic). Any chance you know how the wiring looks from the box to the "remote"? (The "remote" being the pause, play, etc. buttons.) What about the wiring from the "remote" to the earplugs?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the work! Diagram is a lot of help. I whink one should consider using shrinkable rather than glue when attaching the jack, do rememper to put it on before attaching the jack.

    Thanks for your video. We also have the same issue with the 4pole connector on QC20i (Gray) after it got slightly bent, one be of the channels stopped working. I’ve cut off the original tip and trying to figure out where are the strands for soldering. These are so miniature it’s nearly impossible to find what there to solder - ours doesn’t seem have the white wire 🤔

    I have a pair of QC25 over ears and the cable was severed. Should I just match up the colored wires and solder them back together? It seems like there are 2 red, 2 green and 1 white.

      hello, could you please help answer my question below?

    @nezburn nezburn do you have any videos of the unit open? My aux cable has been ripped off the circuit board and I am unsure of what order the wires solder on to it. Do you have any clear pictures of where the wires inside the aux cable attaches to the board, or would you be able to take some please?

      Hey, any chance you figured it out?

    hey great Job! I actually have the same exact problem, I need to perform this repair and your video is the first I have come across. Is there a wiring diagram I can find that will give me a very detailed view of all the wires and where they go? just a little confused because your diagram shows two blue wires soldered, then two red then two green and one white. I thought one blue would go to the front and the other is the ground because you said there would be 3 grounds. Or should both blues be soldered to the front? Sorry just really confused by all of this.
    thanks again!!!

    I have a QC20 with the same problem as your dark one mentioned that noise cancelling doesn’t work on anymore. Mine got slammed in a drawer. Now my noise canceling is gone too. Have you been able to fix yours? And have you made a video on it?

    This is a long shot, but if you still watch this: Can you give advice on how the ambient side button functions? SW1, 2 &3 are obvious. Side ambient button is not clear from any pic/video I've found. I'd like to remove that button and solder a remote flush diy swtch in for motorcycle use. The concept is to stick the QC20 in shaped PVC piping and make it like a QC30.

      I still use it daily, and while it's not pretty it works. It'd be better if the stubby cable was an inch or two longer.

    • @delatroy
      @delatroy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nezbrun is it possible to extend the stubby cable somehow?

    has anyone had to replace the actual ear-piece? one no longer works. not sure if it can be replaced but no longer under warranty. bummer because it happened to both mine and my husbands, so that's a lot of money down the drain if not replaceable
