They made a run for it. Their lawyer talked them into coming back and spun it as they were just leaving the area in fear for their safety. In reality they skip their court appearance and made a half-assed attempt to flee.
The printed news is unclear of the timetable AND if the parents knew of being charged. If on the lamb, who would leave the plates on the car? I believe sentence 2 is conjecture on someones part.

OK, now stop making up stuff. Their lawyers absolutely did NOT "talk them into coming back", since they refused to talk to their attorneys nor take any legal advice. In fact they'd already turned off their cell phones and withdrawn $4K from an ATM. They got some help from SOMEONE (as yet unidentified) in getting into the warehouse where they hid like the scumbags they are, completely abandoning their murderous son. There's nothing "half-assed" about their attempt to flee. They obviously did everything they could to evade responsibility for their acrtions, they're just not very bright or resourceful and seem to have almost zero friends.

If you read what he initially wrote with comprehension. Nate is literally saying the family's lawyers are trying to spin the story and make it sound like the parents were listening to them and were only worried about their safety. When in actuality the parents were attempting to get the hell out of dodge to avoid the consequences of their negligence.
Nate was 100% accurate. You just need to make sure to actually read what's being written.

You may not have read the play by play of what happened that day - this family is beyond the pale. Absolute trash. Some article (maybe cnn) has the article posted. It’s all recorded - from November 26 when his dad bought the gun (w him) to him posting it on Instagram a day later?, to the hour by hour report by the school counselor after the teacher reports his drawings and the family being called in to deny him counseling all while leaving him at school WITH THE GUN.
In other words they undoubtedly aided him in the massacre

@@dylandigsdub normally they do bring them in together and separate them once inside for booking process but when it's serious charges they will bring them in separate vehicles
@@gabybaby4348 They'll bring them in the same vehicle but usually make one or the other sit in the vehicle while the other group is brought into the jail.
I was actually in jail recently unfortunately and that's how it was done.
@@gabybaby4348 It really all depends on convenience and as you said the seriousness of the crime. If they stole a pair of Duck Dynasty underwear from Walmart together (I expect that to come out sooner or later) they would probably throw them into the same vehicle. However, in a case like this they would probably want to separate them to prevent them from trying to get their story straight.
Maybe if they arrested all parents of kids that commit murder on the streets of Detroit we wouldn't have the shootings and kids would get punished by their parents. Parents should be held accountable for their kids actions until they are 18. Make it a law.

You're right. The school did what they could but it was the PARENTS who flatly REFUSED to take Ethan home after the meeting and just LEFT their obviously disturbed, dangerous kid (WITH the gun they bought him, as it turns out) at the school.
Maybe he fell under the special ed laws and said that he was kidding around.
I want to hear the 911 call the dad made to police when he found out his gun was missing ....will be interesting to hear the wording and phrasing ...and now that they have been arrested ,you know that recording is coming out to the media circus to go towards his character

When are people going to stop blaming the Education System? You send your child to school to learn to read, write and do maths, amongst other subjects, in order to get an education to progress in the world. They are not their to raise your children. The parents job is to teach their children right from wrong, respect, good attitude and manners, empathy etc. The school isn’t responsible for what bad choices parents make when raising their children and definitely not responsible for the bad examples parents set. The school can give advice and guidance and if a child uses what he’s told, it’s the child and parents that need to be held accountable if bad choices are made. Stop wrapping these brats in bubble wrap and entitling them. What ever happened to consequences if wrong was done? There are far too many selfish parents that put their needs before their children and they give in to them so they don’t have to be bothered.

Are we going to see child abuse charges against them? Their son was in a mental health crisis. His drawings were violent and also he wrote help me and my life is worthless. Their neglect of himis what made this happen. He could have been taken to a mental health facility and treated. Those other kids would be alive. Some of you have no idea how the school system works when it comes to the discipline of students. Their hands are just as tied. No one in the schools make the rules. The rules come from the government. So hold the government accountable for what happened. Violent students are moved from school to school. You can go all the way up the chain of command and tell them a student has issues and is going to hurt someone, unless the student actually does hurt people, there is nothing that can be done. The laws are written to protect the students that cause the most harm to others. That is why I gave up teaching math after 13 years. The weekly assaults, biased curriculum, ridiculous parents and testing kids until their ability to think critically is destroyed was enough for me.
Look into your schools' laws (not the student and parent handbook) and you will see exactly how things are done. This is why parents need to be at those school board meetings.
Unfortunately teachers and other school staff just want a paycheck and ultimately condone that very system by showing up for work every day, knowing exactly what you stated above. It’s quite disturbing.
You're saying the school didn't have the authority to notify the police that one of their students had previously been caught searching for ammunition in class and now turned in a work assignment that morning with drawings of people being murdered and writing on it that says "The thoughts won't stop. Help me. ...my life is useless..blood everywhere..."?
@@8WessCoast24 there are actual police officers INSIDE the school so I would believe the teacher above everyone else on what they are allowed to do. Lots of times the administrators are also trying to avoid lawsuits that will cost the school much needed funds. It's a sucky situation all the way around but ultimately it's up to the parents and the lawmakers.

Detroit police said that someone assisted in hiding the Crumbleys in the building and is being looked at for criminal charges.
If you watch the arrest video, you can see the name of the business that they were hiding in. Seems to be an art dealer or something of that nature?🤔

It was actually Detroit PD that got the tip where the Crumbleys vehicle was by this wharehouse in Detroit. 40 minutes away from their home plus they drew out $4,000 in cash from their banks. Detroit has an International Airport. Sounds like the Crumbleys were getting ready to run somewhere far away ! They didn't even return their lawyers calls or texts for 24 hours. These are the worst parents I've seen in a very long time. Not a broken home either which usually causes hardships in the home.

Lead prosecutor said the gun was kept in the parent’s bedroom. Sheriff believes Ethan had the gun at the 10am meeting. If the parents weren’t aware that he took the gun from their bedroom that morning...case over. If he testifies that he took it without them knowing...case over!

Never keep suspects of the same crime together. From the moment they are apprehended they are separated. Ride in separate vehicles. Obviously booked into separate housing units (male and female). They will not be allowed to converse at all. Prosecution can even charge them separately if they so choose.
