    I would like to ask, in terms of the turtles, how long are they kept in those tanks for

    • @caramacrae5444
      @caramacrae5444  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the most part the turtles were kept in the tanks untill they had a better chance of survival in the wild. Some turtles are release anywhere between 2 weeks old to a few months. Nests are brought to the center to hatch safely and ensure they are not eaten by predators.

    That's is a great job. Securing the nest itself instead of moving the eggs. That's the proper scientific way to do it. Some conservation centers remove the eggs from the nest and later after hatching, keep the babies for some time in a tank and release directly in the water. This is a very bad process. Baby turtles need to recognize the beach on which they were born to be able to come back and lay eggs later. The mother lay the eggs away from the shoar line purposely.

    How long would you go for, ideal amount?

    • @caramacrae5444
      @caramacrae5444  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I went for 2 weeks but I feel like 3 weeks would best. Because the first week is just an introduction week where you do lots of activities, so the actual volunteering doesn't start till the second week.

    Are there any language requirements for applying? Is there a selection, or everyone can apply?

    • @dvstnh
      @dvstnh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s not any language requirements, but the website does give you resources to learn a little bit of the local language before you go (you can also do an introduction week with language classes as well). When I applied, I had no volunteer experience. I think the only selection is making sure you’re a decent applicant and also making sure that there is enough space to accommodate you for the dates you choose. I would 100% recommend applying!

      There's no specific requirements experience wise, but I did have to submit a criminal background check to get approved by the organization. Also everyone spoke english while I was there but for many people english was their second language!

      @@caramacrae5444 hii i dont get it “suggested spending: Voluunters in Bali-Ubud generally consider $80-100 per week to be enough. “Do i give $100 a week? And “all programs charge a $329 Registration fee in addition to the program fee” so i will give $767+$329 im so sorry, I didn’t understand well😔

    • @caramacrae5444
      @caramacrae5444  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@minagbd so you have to pay them the 329$ registration fee directly which is a one time fee no matter how many weeks you voluenteer and then you directly pay them the program fee. The 100$ is just suggested money that you should bring with you to spend when youre there on things like going to a resturant, snacks, excursions of your choosing. It's basically just a suggestion for any extra spending money you might need, you dont pay that to them.
