    Enjoyed making this, but seriously. I have to be more efficient and bring my game. Editing is very time consuming :)

    Looks very nice! I've never tried to ski but it's one of the things I wanted to try. I'm still adjusting with the cold weather as well. 😂

      I don't think you ever get used to the cold. Much prefer warm weather if I'm honest. Thanks for the positive feedback :)

    This year, it was horrible, it was very warm and the slopes had very little snow and lots of ice. You were REAAALLY lucky in 2020

      Hi Shakir175. Sorry to hear your trip wasn't so good. It's difficult to plan sometimes isn't it? You never really know how it's going to be until you arrive. Wish I had a crystal ball 😂 thanks for watching 👍

      @@Boxplanet Sure, glad that you were lucky. I just have a feeling that with global warming we will no longer have snowy winters for smooth skiing.

    • @Boxplanet

      That's an awful thought isn't it 😕 let's hope it stays snowy 👍

    Great video! Just been to Val Thorens and agree with your views. Looking at La Plagne / Les Arcs for next trip - do you still recommend for families?

    • @Boxplanet
      @Boxplanet  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes. Absolutely. It's a brilliant place for families in Les Arcs. Especially is it's a car free resort.

    Great vlog ...we are heading to Val Thorens in a couple of weeks after doing the last two years at Les Arcs

    • @Boxplanet
      @Boxplanet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Harvey, I hope you have a great time. It's always good to get a different perspective. Where did you stay in Les Arcs and where are you staying in Val Thorens? Also, top tip. There is a good reasonably price cafe that sells pizza, chicken, crepes etc. that don't cost the earth in the foyer of the swimming pool It's like a little sports bar.

      Boxplanet hi mate , first time we stayed in Arc 2000 (chalet des neiges) which was just across from the underground bowling bar in the square . Last year we stayed in 1900 which was lovely but can’t remember the name of the hotel (had an outside pool) . Really like Les Arcs but we decided we needed a change !! 😬
      In Val Thorens we are staying in Les apartments de mea which are in the centre somewhere, Fingers crossed 🤞 for blue skies and sun ☀️

    • @Boxplanet
      @Boxplanet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@harveyknott8002, we also stayed in Chalet des Neiges. It's certainly sets the bar very high in my opinion. We haven't stayed at 1950 but I often wondered what it would be like, especially as most evenings were spent down there. I hope you have a good experience in Val Thorens, let me know what you think when you get back. Maybe upload some content 🤔

    Great video, very informative. Hoping to get out to Meribel in February 2021 (coronavirus depending). Have you any plans to head back to Les Arcs or will you be trying another ski resort? Would love to see more ski vlogs :)

      Hi, thanks for watching. We're waiting to see what happens with the COVIID situation, but hoping to catch a quick ski holiday in January or February. I think that we'll be going back to Les Arcs again. Love that place. What is Meribel like?

    • @macaroonscandyfloss
      @macaroonscandyfloss 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Boxplanet Fingers crossed you get away too! I’ve never actually been to Meribel, but I was recommended by a friend who loves it. Apparently it has some lovely tree lined runs, great apres, restaurants and accommodation. Supposedly not as expensive as Courchevel, but you can ski there with the 3 valleys pass if you want too (as well as Val Thorens and Le Menuires).
      I think we’re going to go for a catered chalet as we’ve never been before. It’ll give us the chance to try a few places out for dinner on the hosts nights off too!

      Sounds like you've got it covered. A recommend is pure gold :) you should take some video and upload it. I'd be very interested to see what it's like!

    Great video but I’m gonna have to say VT is more exclusive than LA... 3 valleys with Meribel/Courchevel

      Hi there and thanks for watching. Where did you stay in VT and have you got any suggestions for my next visit? I'm always keen to hear what inside scoop other may have!

    Hi,
    From Barcelona, is there any night train direct to Val Thorens ?
    Because when I was checking for the travel, I have to take a early morning flight from Barcelona to Geneva, Geneva airport to Val thorens by Alpy bus which would be in the mid of day. So, I'm wasting a complete day in travel.

    • @Boxplanet
      @Boxplanet  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Arani, I feel your pain :( Whenever I plan skiing trips I always account for a day travel each side of skiing to ensure I can reliably forecast my time on the snow. This time we had four days skiing (and four days ski pass) but were away for a six day trip. Out of interest I've checked to see if there is a night train from BAR and I can't see one. It looks like you are stuck on the Geneva flight :( It's my biggest beef with the whole skiing thing as no matter where you go, you have an epic journey ahead! Anyway, good luck with your trip, I hope it turns out well. Let me know ;)

    In terms of Budget what you saying per person for a group of 9 lads roughly for a week? A few people I know saying £700-£800. obviously drinking etc. heard the price of a pint can be very steep there?

    • @Boxplanet
      @Boxplanet  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello Matt. I reckon the advice of £700-£800 from your mates is probably not far off. You'd be able to save by hiring a minibus and all travelling from the airport to the ski resort. Probably be able to negotiate a good group discount on the ski-hire too! The ski-passes are probably going to the the most expensive component. Drinks are expensive because they've got you captured. The local supermarkets are reasonable so at least you can have a few in the accom before you head out to party! Good luck.
