    Seems a useful chrono good honest review as always. I use the small FX chrono as I can shoot over the top of it down range to calculate BC of pellets. That said using this on the muzzle with FX downrange would halve the shots needed.

    The beauty of 3D printing is how versatile it is to changing design features....effectively a very quick way of rapid prototyping & getting things made quickly to prove concepts, etc

    • @NateChrony.
      @NateChrony. หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely - also the complexity of design would mean 3 different molds & a process to join the pieces... at $10k each mold... the cost is silly & would make the product cost HUGE.
      And yes, many, many errors have been made throughout development & adjusted :)

    Definately needs a couple of years refinement before it gets my vote. All the parts are priced separately, would be better as a comprehensive kit. Reminds me of the old Combro Chrony which was cheaper and neater, Sorry but not impressed.

      Thanks for the feedback. The only options are the USB cables - which many have, so charging for something you (probably?) have is unnecessary, and the variable or custom adapters. Adding these adapters in when they're not needed would drive up the price unnecessarily, and the vast majority of air guns are 1/2 UNF, which are included for free.

    Wouldn't be confident using it on a springer & definitely be wary on a break barrel. Would be a lot better with aluminum barrel mount adaptors with a screw going through a nut set into the plastic body to a threaded hole in the aluminium adaptors. Making the adaptors out of Aluminium would not be as expensive as making the full body out of aluminium.

      Not bad thinking! we had to design a lot for this exact use case & it took some work and was solved a few different ways. We've had many customers that are using Magnum springers & break barrels without issue to the unit for a long time now (there was 1 problem with an adapter due to a bad batch of materials, they got a bunch of replacement adapters at no cost). The only issue we had was the USB cable coming loose when >20ft/lb pistons, so there's a retention tab added on the standard unit (not the mini) you can use a zip tie the cable to. V2 has a different design approach for this issue. Also the adapters are deliberately plastic for a few critical reasons.
      Part of our QC testing is to load the adapters at the fixing hole perpendicular to the thread, they typically exceed 90lb force & max out the test rig.
      After all that, I claim its durable - if it breaks/fails during normal use, let me know & i'll make it right.

    Light and portable option, would be useful on pistols as well if it had an onboard battery. Certainly worth looking into.

    • @NateChrony.
      @NateChrony. หลายเดือนก่อน

      Battery option coming on v2 unit - but it'll be "significantly" heavier. We did it without battery to make it as light as possible - for target pistols specifically. Our v2 unit is ~60grams, with an aluminium cover ~80 grams!
      (side note - Shipping lithium batteries & the different laws around them are horrific, as well as insurance)

    The taking off of the silencer which can cause the need for rezero is a no from me, I also like to take my chrony (fx) in the field with me sometimes, i would definitely lose some of those bits plus wires and power bank which would be an added cost for me adds to that, would have to be very cheap to consider it as a first purchase into the chrony world so to speak especially over the crombo at £50,00 which has no need for wires battery, apps pocket full of bits. Wish the product all the best but i cant see it catching on in all fairness especially when your prone to displacing bits like me and also the charging of power banks adds to the list of prep i dont want

    • @NateChrony.
      @NateChrony. หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are variable adapters that go over a silencer - it never needs to be removed or re-zero'd. App? There are no apps used at all. What bits - there is only 1 piece as the adapter would be screwed to the Chrony. Combro - did you carry spare button cells? what about the rubber bands & alignment tool? 3 pieces... Battery - You've got your phone on you, if Android you use your phone for the battery, some iPhones do this as well - some dont, but as they move to USB-C it should be fine.

    • @NateChrony.
      @NateChrony. หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Valid feedback. If I add a screen - cost goes up, battery - insane shipping issues & laws around these, cost goes up (battery option in development with a partner though). Also more durable without these. It is a trade-off & we went a different path.

      In reply to your reply, having no screen and the faff of wires etc. If the price was lower many more would put up with the faff. At this price many won't. FX pocket will still be go to quality of heap ebay

    £82 then you have to buy all the bits, I'll stick with my old combro lol

      @NateChrony. หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you have a 1/2 UNF barrel & a USB cable, then there's no bits to buy. Additional adapters are a very small fraction of sales, i can count on 1 hand the USB cables that i've sold in 1 year. The stripped down package seems to be right for the market.

      Appreciate the feedback on appearance, the v2 should fix a lot of the visuals.
      Complicated - understand, its the trade-off - strip down what we sell you, as you supply screen, battery etc. & you save a lot. It "looks" complicated as he's got 4 separate adapters shown, for different rifles - You only ever need 1 adapter.
