I'll say it again, a lot of reactors still haven't notice that the 2 skeletons on top of the building was the 2 criminals that Darkwing captured before he died, so they were just dangling there until they died.
Thing you always need to remember is everytime Doc Seismic activates he is worsening his CTE. None of his motivation/drive is ever going to make sense to anyone but him.
Fun fact I learned about this series: Amber being terrible in season 1 was literally an accident. Kirkman did an interview where he mentioned that it was simply a miscommunication between the two writing teams for the different episodes. They didn't line up their plans and accidentally had one directly contradict the other, making Amber look like a manipulative psychopath.
It being an accident doesn't really change anything, if anything that makes the writers look incompetent now that they just changed her character. Also, how the hell does an accident like that happen to begin with, how late did the writing teams check the continuity of their story?
My theory is Cecil wants Mark to take every mission he can so like Omniman and the Kaiju from last season, he has something in his back rooms in case he, his father, or any other Viltrumites show up. Remember he would have sacrificed Mark to ensure Nolan’s death. I think other than Donald, as it’s been proven, Cecil would let ever hero under his command turn into a red smear if it meant human civilization kept existing as is. 💯
Well it's hard to imagine a competent "primary defender of humanity", which is what Cecil is, being any different. Humanity as a whole is always going to come first, before any individual hero.
@@BasilAbdef But that in and of itself is a problem, when you are rendering people and their autonomy into nothing but a statistic, you lose track of the little picture. Forcing Mark into nothing but a tool could lead to him resenting humanity, failing to properly prepare for Nolan for the sake of identifying his reasons for betrayal meant that stopping him was never going to work, having Mark immediately go aggro on the twins and Angstrom created a dangerous supervillain, him antagonizing Debbie makes Mark's most important emotional anchor less likely to support Cecil even when Cecil has a point, etc. Point is, Cecil is too arrogant for his "defender of humanity" bullshit and has made decisions that have already massively backfired because of this.
One of Cecil's problems with Nolan, going back 20+ years, is that he wouldn't take orders from him. When Mark went back to save the Atlanteans, he did it because it was the right thing and he understood their anger. But all Cecil could see is that Mark was disobeying him. Debbie might be depressed and off that red wine, but she still sees through people's BS. Cecil's primary motivation is making sure Mark is on a leash that he decides the length of, not making sure he's okay.
This reaction was amazing and so funny. I agree with mostly everything you guys said and it makes perfect sense.. I think that improved voice delivery can help give you more entertainment and emotion. I think they focused so much on Omni Man in the first season, that they didn't really have time to broaden other characters or explore and develop other characters, but now they can.. and it's doing well.. I am so hyped to see you guys react to episode 3, and yes.. I'd say The Boys is very similar to this yet very different at the same time.. It'd definitely be interesting to see you guys checking it out one day :D

@@Yewtewbayou know how much energy there is in a single atom, e=mc2 that means converting even a small amount of matter into energy will provide ample power to use her abilities especially if she converts external matter into energy as well.
@@speedy01247 sure, an atom contains a lot of energy, but it takes a lot of energy to manipulate matter. And she doesn't have free access to external energy. Debbie and Cecil have completely opposite reactions to the idea of Mark becoming like Nolan. Debbie is already so destroyed by this happening once she cant imagine missing it again. Cecil didnt realise Nolan's true nature until it was too late. He had no reason to distrust Nolan before the events of season 1, not having any reason to distrust Mark is meaningless to him now.
I think it was mentioned in the especial that she can use her powers on living beings, she just has a mental block against it, it's similar in the comics, where she has a mental block against using her powers on anything she perceives as consciences, including herself. I'm not gonna spoil, but the mental block can only goe away under certain very critical conditions to herself.
So interestingly enough, in the scene where Debbie breaks down and Mark consoles her, they actually left a bit of dialogue out from the comics. For context in the comics Debbie had kind of developed a bit of a drinking problem to cope with what happened and in the scene the show adapted she had drunk a lot, similar to when she confronted Nolan in season 1. When Mark tries to console her, she says, "Why did you have to fight him, Mark? Why did you have to drive him away?", which, while obviously quite the emotional gut punch, gave some insight as to the fact that Debbie actually still misses Nolan. Or rather the Nolan she knew.
I know Immortal is like thousands of years old, and I cant say he cant date anybody. But him starting to date someone who was just a teenager not super long ago is just weird.
It makes much more sense for him not to care about modern age standards. Those are very, very recent, and he's lived for much longer under different standards.
@@BasilAbdefAlso, the same thing applies to Nolan and Debbie. When one character is hundreds or thousands of years old, a character who has lived a few decades will *never* equal the other person's life experience.
@@SnowyWolborg Yes, the most objectionable part of Nolan's behavior isn't that he views humanity as meaningless gnats but rather that he's willing to mate with one so casually. If Debbie is a pet, it's pretty morally objectionable to take a pet for a spouse, regardless of if it's the equivalent of a weekend romp.
@@BasilAbdefI agree it’s weird and nolans a bad guy but he was totally coping when he said that, but it does make him look like even more of a freak lmfao. It must be hard. But yea he’s totally manipulating her lmfao bros like god knows how old AND he killed Lincoln soooo what’s up with that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So... The Shapesmith is a Martian, who in middle of the dust storm changed into an Astronaut and left Mars, HOWEVER the actual Astronaut got caught by the sequids in the commotion and he is currently coming to Earth In the 1st season you can see that that specific Martian on the spaceship switches the blue rectangle of American flag from low right corner, to upper left corner, where he is supposed to be, which can be done only by a Martian changing his shape
Yeah, the implication felt like the threat was coming directly to earth, but instead it ment the real human was left behind which caused the issue the martians tried to prevent and some steps later would also come to earth.
