Natas part changed what we thought you could do on a skateboard (like ollie-ing over garbage cans and up picnic tables). Easily one of the most influential parts of any skate movie ever IMO...
Sure, skateboarding has evolved and people are better younger and do crazier tricks. Yet there's something so relaxing , organic and aesthetic about these early skate films.
oh my god, whow, this video was the first skatefilm that i saw, it was a great time, good vibrations, always after school i saw this video alltime and than we skate skate skate just for fun...and we forgot to go to school...yeah...
Back around 86' when Natas would make an appearance at The Embarcadero in S.F. everybody would stop to watch him ollie up the concrete stage effortlessly. The stage seemed unbelievably high.... He was mr. ollie.
My friends and I used to watch this over and over back in the late 80s, along with Streets of Fire. Then masses of videos started coming out in the early 90s and my mates moved on from the old 80s vids. But I never stopped watching this (and a few others like Molecules of Motion, Sick Boys, Animal Chin and Public Domain). Every now and then in the 90s and 2000s I’d put on Wheels of Fire if I was hosting a bbq or get-together and all of the old gang would be so into it! Even mates who weren’t into skating would comment on how well it was shot and how cool the soundtrack is. It was an all-round favourite, long after it’s release.
That board was crazy! Lol, It was meant for Jason Lee but he didnt want the drama that went along with the graphic so Natas took it for fun. Also, important to note that that board kind of was the end of Natas's career..he broke his ankle on that board with the pentagram. He never really skated as a pro again after that..call it coincedence or bad juju associated with the board graphic. 😂
Whooaaa, a 42min epic OG skate vid, siick!! This is a skateboarding history lesson. Looks like this has some skateboarding 1st's...fakie ollies, kickflips, shove its, fs 360s down drops, multi grind tricks in-one-go on a curb, bs hurricane, bs 270 boardslide, 1st trick on one of those California picnic tables (ollie onto it!), boardslide early pull-out, skating the top of transport trucks, 2-song parts, messing with security guards. They were skating the giant transition thing that Rune Glifburg fs slashes at the start of his Flip Extremely Sorry part. Natas rules!
These guys are lucky. There wasn’t as many people living in the US, nowadays there’s loads of cars all over the country on the road and turning into parking lots. You can’t have peace of mind anywhere to skate
André Perry Fox What does the 90's have to do with anything? This video was released in 1987. Even 1988 was a quantum leap over 1987. By 1992 skateboarding wasn't even recognizable from what went before. Would you leave that comment if the video was Plan B's "Questionable"?

That was my era. I love where skateboarding is now, but this was a link in the chain towards it's evolution.

Natas' part is still relevant today.
member how everybody was on about natas spelled backward back in the day? that was the time of satanists and dungeons and dragons evil...

Roskopp bailed the mctwist in the intro.
When skateboarding was just fun
Too true, those of us who enjoyed their skating truly found "Animal Chin" 😉😋

Love grabkes song, eight days a week was the bands name if I recall right😃
Kendall dropping in on a haystack/dirtstack 😂

Epic
YAPPLE DAAAAPLE
noticed all boards had big wheels,
no tiny skate wheels
They're reissuing a lot of those wheels. I've got a set of 65mm Slimeballs on one of my boards. I think they reissued Hosoi's wheels.
whats the name of the first song?
Eight Dayz-"What's so strange about me?"
Thanksss
14:45 what's this freestyles name he's gnarly
His name is Troy Sliter.
oh mister officer go buy a donut !
3:46 shat myself
18:45 Skip Engblom?
i think so.
90's street sucked big time
Can you pull a method or an airwalk air off a curb like Natas? Ollie onto a picnic table? No many can. Even today. 25 years later.
i can do the pop shove it and ollie.. but what I meant was the nineties was a big shift from what I enjoy watching
André Perry Fox
