I would've started crying as soon as I heard the "So if you care to find me..." lol. I also love how the audience remains silent for a bit after the final riff, as if they were trying to understand what had happened or if it truly had been real. xD She's just mind blowing and it's amazing how she still slays this whole OST after so many years. Just...wow. I have no words to express how talented Willemijn is.
I'm still not over this. She has been doing this for a decade. And this is still what she's pulling out. Incredible. I'm Team Tucker for life but this is the best DG I've ever heard
OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH THIS IS SO PERFECT I CANT EVEN OH MY GOSH THE RIFFS ARE PERFECT I HAVE BEEN SLAYED THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST DEFYING GRAVITY'S EVER TO EXSIST!!!!!!
my love for Willemijn and theater started when I was 11 and saw Wicked live with her as Elphie, and now, 5 years later my love for both has only became bigger. God what is that woman unbelievable amazing.
THE LAST RIFF OOOOOOOOOH MY GOD I'M SPEECHLESS i was not expecting this AT ALL i love her so much i wish i could go and see her but i'm on the other side of the world *sighs*
I know everyone loves Idina cause she is the original and I always see Rachel Tucker get a lot of praise, but Willemijn is my absolute FAVORITE Elphaba!!! Her voice is just gorgeous and so out of this world!!!!
Clorox Bleach You know darn well the Wicked producers ain't gonna do that when the show sells out every night on Broadway, even more than shows that just opened.
Sarah Michelle Gilligan I also think the producers are going to look to Lea Michele to play elphaba because I mean she can sing and act! She's sung defying gravity before and killed it. I would like to see her play elphaba, I don't know if it's rude or not haha but I already picture her with the green makeup and black cloak.
You can never know when you will come across greatness. for the 2,304 people who set at the Apollo Victoria theater, it happen at March 25th, 2017, around 20:30 approx.
Elphaba Lives I don't know what was happening but I would like to know .. maybe a very famous person in the audience ,a challenge for willemijn from the music director , casuality , a birthday ? IDK but I am LIVING for it !!! this is the most riffs the west end has ever seen
Both the musical director and assistant musical director were off so it was one of the orchestra conducting, so maybe she was taking advantage of having nobody to tell her off and going all out? :P
Elphaba Lives yesss that might be it !!! they usually shout at them when they riff and maybe the music conductor might have been like do what you want when i'm not here or maybe another music director has told them to go all the way and show all that they coukd do
I know just about everyone is talking about the end riffs but how has not a single person talked about her first few "de-e-fying gravity" like the extra note sounds so good
This is pretty damn incredible. I don't think anything will ever beat her 2014 Olivier performance for me, but this is my new favourite on-stage performance! (Although a small part of me did miss her 'is or was' riff she's being doing in this run)
I missed that riff too! But when she goes insane on just about every other line, it's hard to begrudge her one riff. I agree her 2014 Olivier Awards performance was something really special, especially considering she'd been off the entire previous week suffering with her back. Go Willemijn!
Oh. My. Oz. I love this version so much. I am at a loss for words at all those riffs. And the end note. Absolute perfection! Willemijn has so much talent it is literally out of this world. Suzie was absolutely incredible as Glinda. Words just cannot describe how amazing this performance was.
I saw her Monday 19th June and she was incredible! I just saw her this weekend at West End live as well - twice in a week!!!!!! I've just booked for her last show on July 22nd - she's gonna rock it.
My personal favorite Elphie in terms of character is Jackie Burns, but the best one in terms of vocals is Willemijn Verkaik! She SLAYS this song! EDIT: In terms of character, my favorite is now Lissa deGuzman. I saw her live and she was phenomenal! Willemihn is still objectively the best in terms of vocals though.
For me its her and Jessica Vosk. Jessica Vosk sings it so perfectly, i dont know which one is better so we just have to say, theyre both the best. I like some of the ways Willemijn's chose to do some of the lines at the end, really elevates the performance.
Haha I was trying to think of an Elphaba that does a similar riff and Jacqueline Hughes was the main contender ;) Rachel Tucker's has too few parts to it to be the same style as Willemijn's :P
I remember meeting Willemijn on my 21st birthday (I went to see Wicked on Broadway that day) and she was insanely nice! I was so moved by her performance that I even got a tattoo to remember the occasion two months later. (I meant to get the tattoo on the day of her last performance in May, but wires were crossed and I got the tattoo a week later. 😅)
Holy. Shit. I have heard this song done by Willemijn many times but not like this. Wow. She, Jessica Vosk and Shoshana have to be the best Elphie’s EVER. I’m seriously SHOOK.
It was Kerry Enright's last show in the ensemble, but because Kerry is 8+ months pregnant, she doesn't perform in act 1 anyway. At stage door someone asked her about her riffs and she said sometimes it just feels right to go for it, and yesterday was one of those times.
Why does this not have more views and likes? It is just wrong. Why is not on everyone's suggested/just start playing when try to watch a different video. I have edited in this battle cry in my original cast recording. I wish there was a professional recording of this for my car.
Amazing. It was a shame she didn't receive the same cheering and applause as Kerry Ellis did during the flying portion in her previous run. London, for her last show you've got a new chance to give the best Elphie in the world the credit she deserves😊
Brits don't tend to cheer when Elphaba flies in the UK except at last shows, occasionally there'll be a little outbreak of applause but it's a little bit awkward to do it on a standard show.
SHE'S BEEN PLAYING THIS ROLE FOR DAMN NEAR A DECADE AND SHE CONTINUES TO SWITCH IT UP AND SHAKE THE TABLE. YASSS
caps lock stuck?
I know! She's played it in the West End, in the Netherlands, in Germany, on Broadway, and now again in the West End
lol @ shake the table....i just heard k michelle in my head when i read this lol
citric2acid TB was yelling for emphasis.
I would've started crying as soon as I heard the "So if you care to find me..." lol. WILLEMIJN IS ONE OF THE GREATEST HUMAN ON EARTH. HOW DOES SHE DO THIS?????????????
MINDBLOWN.
I'm still not over this.
She has been doing this for a decade. And this is still what she's pulling out.
Incredible. I'm Team Tucker for life but this is the best DG I've ever heard

God what is that woman unbelievable amazing.
She is
MAN she was FEELING IT
Can I just give her my weave because I am SNATCHED
That's the best quote!
The body snatcher is now a weave snatcher 😂 So Fitting !
"I hope you're happy in the end" is the best I've heard!
All 3 are the best, Rachel tucker gives me the chills
She MUST play Elphaba in the Wicked Movie.
Clorox Bleach Honestly I would love to see Lea as Elphie but I don't think that she will even audition for the role, to predictable.
weirdloverofthings but why do they have to take it down? Les Mis is still running and there's a movie of that....
She said herself she thinks she is too old to play the role and she didn't get the call yet. :) But yes I'd love it. Or Lea Michelle otherwise
She's sung defying gravity before and killed it. it’s 2020 and I’m still in shambles. this is INCREDIBLE!!!
If she sounds this amazing now, I cant even imagine what her last will sound like!
i’ve always loved how suzie and willemijn’s voices sound like one voice on the defying gravity they sing together
I was there. Willemjin was my first Elphaba, and I feel so honoured to have seen such a goddess on live! She's incredible!
I saw her live and it literally gave me goosebumps. I've heard the song many times and she is by far the best at it, such an incredible voice!
she's really wanting to be the movie Elphaba :)
SHE WOULD BE BEAUTIFUL IN THE MOVIE ADAPTATION!!!!
+Anthony Potter Yes, she would! WILLEMIJN IS SO AMAZING AND TALENTED!
Collin Salvo I would not say no to this by any means.
Give her the freaking role!!!!
I dont think they will. They will probably bring a Young actress for this part.
Wtf willemijn... I think my heart just died from excitement - no doubt she's the riff queen
OMG that was absoloutly freaking epic. I've never heard it any better. She is absoloutly the Queen.
You can never know when you will come across greatness.
for the 2,304 people who set at the Apollo Victoria theater, it happen at March 25th, 2017, around 20:30 approx.
There is something so pure and perfect about her voice. She leaves me speechless and with chills every single time.
And Suzie's "I hope your happy" is PERFECT!
This is the most incredible Defying Gravity ever! Was it even a special show?! I HAVE to see her again!!
What the in the fuck?! How does she do it?! Willemijn, you never cease to amaze me! You're awesome!
that. last. note. wow. I am on the floor . this is her best EVER and suzie's different I hope you're happy !!!
I think she was so shook by Willemijn's amazing first bring me down she could barely think what was coming out of her mouth before it did :P
Elphaba Lives yes !!!! and also her TG with the F6 wow super rare riff !!! they went crazy in this performance !!!
Elphaba Lives I don't know what was happening but I would like to know .. maybe a very famous person in the audience ,a challenge for willemijn from the music director , casuality , a birthday ? IDK but I am LIVING for it !!! this is the most riffs the west end has ever seen

This is the best UK Defying Gravity EVER!
Things she did:
THAT
WHAT DID I JUST LISTEN TO?! OMG!
THAT WAS AMAZING! I'M CRYING FROM HOW BEAUTIFUl THAT WAS! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!
This beyond amazing, Willemijn is out of this world, what a treat this would be if i could see her live in London !
I've always enjoyed the way she says "renown".
I know just about everyone is talking about the end riffs but how has not a single person talked about her first few "de-e-fying gravity" like the extra note sounds so good
this one is gonna be mark down in Wicked's history :|
Yoad Shiran she already is
This is pretty damn incredible. I don't think anything will ever beat her 2014 Olivier performance for me, but this is my new favourite on-stage performance!
(Although a small part of me did miss her 'is or was' riff she's being doing in this run)

Yes! I was missing that one too! It has been my favourite of her new run. :)

....speechless....this is riff perfection
OH MY GOD, SWEET OZ! I thought I heard the perfect Defy Gravity once but THIS tops it all!
I can't even. I'm so unable to even. She's so perfect. 😍
It's been 3 years and I would still die for this recording bye
100% dying here with you too.
Another year later and here I am
@@roisinnigcrainn7722 same bestie, same
I WANT TO THROW THINGS SHE IS SO AMAZING THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HER PERFECTION UGHHHHH
I absolutely love her, so privileged to have seen her when I was younger
Think the MD Must have said go for it that night. Even the drummer has added stuff in that's different!
suzie sounds so in awe at the end as she should be
Okay what the hell that was perfection I'm crying that's incredible wow wow wow wow wow wow
She's now my favorite UK Elphaba.
My flex is that I saw that exact show on my 18th birthday.
Saw this a few weeks ago and they were both amazing. This song is stuck in my head
I was lucky enough to watch her live and it gave me chills. SERIOUS CHILLS.
HOLY MOTHER OF GODS. I AM SHAKING. WAS SHE ON DRUGS THAT NIGHT?!
All of those riffs are brilliant and insanely good, but OMFG THAT END NOTE IS 100% PURE SLAY. *dead*
She's dutch, so maybe she's high. Would be matching :D Cliché OFF
@@MegaThexmaster lol though
@Diane Wargo yeah it is!
She did a shot of vodka right before flying
i just got home from watching wicked and she did this and i was in awe, what a fucking legend
I’m so glad I got to see her on Broadway ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🐶
I saw her 40 times as Elphie. 38 times in Wicked NL and two times in Wicked UK
YES OH MY GOSH IM NOT EVEN HALF WAY THROUGH THIS AND IM IN LOVE
She really brings out the "majestic as FUCK" part Of Elphaba. Like seriously who could dislike this badassery 💚 :)
Wow ❤️ I can only imagine what her last will sound like this woman is just one suprise after another I love her
This is HANDS DOWN her best.
Damn. Now I know what the cool kids mean when they say "slay" because Willemijn fucking slaaaaayed this.
Oh my god! Tears in my eyes. Perfect last note!!!
wow wow wow wow!!!! absolutely amazing. she gets better and better
I saw her Monday 19th June and she was incredible! I just saw her this weekend at West End live as well - twice in a week!!!!!! I've just booked for her last show on July 22nd - she's gonna rock it.
Glinda:STOP!!
Elphie:👁👄👁
Glinda:Well, where are your wings?
Elphie:🧿👄🧿
Continues to Snatch Everyone Weaves Uncontrollably.
That was an epic flex. She is clearly the the GOAT, in a league all her own.
HOLY CRAP! Out-freaking-standing!!! WOWOWOWOWOW!
THAT LAST NOTE GAVE ME CHILLS!! Well the whole song did but that especially!!! I love her!! I don't know who I prefer Willemijn or Rachel....
Those last notes gave me chills
WHEN WILL WILL YOUR QUEEN EVER. SHE IS SUCH PERFECTION AGGGGHHHHHH
So amazed at this! I'm so honored to have been able to experience this exact recording and moment while I was in London. So in love with it. 💖💖
WOAH :O AMAZING. BEST RIFFS EVER... OMG
Holy. Crap. Give this woman all the awards in the world!
the ending of this is perfection
Saw this live! Amazing!

Dear queen, just in case you somehow see this from your throne, when I go to see you in a few days time, please sing it like this. Please. Thanks.
she was my first elphaba and i adored her. incredible
OH. MY. GOD. That last riff was just PERFECTION.
For me its her and Jessica Vosk. Jessica Vosk sings it so perfectly, i dont know which one is better so we just have to say, theyre both the best. I like some of the ways Willemijn's chose to do some of the lines at the end, really elevates the performance.
Willemijn will always, without a doubt, be my *FAVOURITE* Elphaba.
Hope she will Come back to germany on Day 😥
Frozeeeeeen 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Jacqueline Hughes style hehe ;) This was deffo one of my favourite Wicked performances I've seen!
Haha I was trying to think of an Elphaba that does a similar riff and Jacqueline Hughes was the main contender ;) Rachel Tucker's has too few parts to it to be the same style as Willemijn's :P

OMG this is how I wanna sound in my arts class, cause I'll be singing this ♥_♥

God I hope she comes back SOMEWHERE, I don't even care where, I will travel the fucking world to see her live in Wicked.
She's on fire!!!!!!
OH MY GOD THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!
Holy. Shit. I have heard this song done by Willemijn many times but not like this. Wow. She, Jessica Vosk and Shoshana have to be the best Elphie’s EVER. I’m seriously SHOOK.
I’ve heard sooo many versions trying to find the perfect one! This is defs my top favourite Defying Gravity! Those riffs!!! Ahhh, goosebumps!!!
As Megan and Eden would say: "Holy Crap!"
A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! She honestly kills me!!! Next thing she'll be doing is Jenny's BMD riff 😂 😉
idk if anyone noticed but the beginning of the climax of the song it sounded like how cynthia erivo sang it in the leaked clip idk just me?
Dutch pride❤️🇳🇱
Woah....I wonder why she was riffing so much??? Was it someone's last show??? Or was she just feeling it that night?
Wafi Habib it was Kerry's last show. But last saturday she did it as well.
It was Kerry Enright's last show in the ensemble, but because Kerry is 8+ months pregnant, she doesn't perform in act 1 anyway. At stage door someone asked her about her riffs and she said sometimes it just feels right to go for it, and yesterday was one of those times.
What is she doing in the emsemble at 8 months pregnant? Wow!
That's the dedication of Wicked's cast members! I think she's due in a couple of weeks.
Who? Willemijn or Suzie?
She's the best of all of them.
Why does this not have more views and likes? It is just wrong. Why is not on everyone's suggested/just start playing when try to watch a different video. I have edited in this battle cry in my original cast recording. I wish there was a professional recording of this for my car.
My favorite defying gravity by far
Bahaha oh her final phrase I stopped breathing for a second. Astonishingly good!
i've seen her on 13 and she was perfeeeect❤❤❤❤
will is just beyond . sustained brilliance
