Does the course enable someone to get into GRC?
i can't access your course to least read reviews to make up my mind
just finished my google cyber security course and got my cert
Update bro you get a job? You need other certs or degrees??
@user-jr9hb8xw9t still hunting for jobs , but I'm looking at getting my sec+ and doing projects
how are the job prospects looking for you? currently considering a bootcamp
Congratulations, I would recommend staying away from boot camps until you get your first job. You will see what is really needed in the job field and then you can look at more options for learning and find the best boot camp you need. Or learn on the job and in fun online groups
@user-jr9hb8xw9t not yet still on the hunt for jobs, I'll be getting my sec+ as soon as I get a job
As always I love your videos!! You have been my inspiration throughout my career journey 😊
Thanks so much! I’m glad 😊
Good Stuff Man! WGU Student here ✌🏽😎
Very informative video, thanks Josh!
Another great video! Josh on point as always
Hiiii Josh kove your stuff thanks for always posting.
Thank you brotha for the information and taking the time. At least i was on somewhat on the right track. I got myA+. Nd right now studying for sec + plus as well as google technical support certificate.
Bro aging backwards, do a skincare routine next video lmao. Shout out to you putting out content back to back.
Lmao thank you, ok I will do this. It’s just intermittent fasting, clean diet, Vaseline for lotion and probably genetics 🤣
@@JoshMadakor that's legit , I fast alot too and working on my diet. Vaseline huh, the secret to immortality right there ! You should get a tiege Hanley sponsorship 😂.
@@JoshMadakor i do all of the things that you do. You can add resveratrol to your diet. It speeds up anti aging to the max!
@@JoshMadakorWait are you doing a 16 / 8 or ?
@@PluPerfective Vaseline was one of Marilyn Monroe's beauty secret.
Thanks for the video
This is the best content on cyber security skillsets one should have 👏👏👏
I’m screaming Josh on top of my voice 😂, we are just lucky to have you man.
Great content again, Josh. Thank you, brother.
Thank you!!
Good stuff, thanks.
Great information Josh! Love the Data..I have always wanted a Cloud-based course-Had not idea your course uses my Azure. I want more practical, hands-on work to build my portfolio. Thank you.
Loving the back-to-back uploads Josh! I'm about to sign up for your IT course, a cyber role is my end game (for now lol) but I'm really interested in the IT field as a whole, so want to try my hand at an entry level IT role 💻
That sounds like a good plan! There are almost always cyber components to “normal” IT jobs, so you’ll probably get some early exposure haha. Also thanks for considering my course 🥲
Nice Bro!
This was an interesting video.
Love it! Been saving to get in your course. In the meantime gunna knock out some quick Udemy courses.
From what I know, HR love to see certs they get told to look out for. When interviewers want to know what you can do and if you can actually apply the skills your certs say you have
I've been a chef for 26 years and the 12 hour shifts are finally taking a toll on my body. I'm considering a career change and I've come across your content. Thanks for putting this out! I'm currently looking over your courses and looking to make the jump. Hopefully this old dog can still learn new tricks, cheers!
I welcome you to study 12 hours a day to become somebody who works in 12 hour shifts in cyber security, while also needing to keep learning every day.
Thanks so much for watching the content, I'm glad you found it! You can definitely get into the field! Once you have a good baseline of knowledge, I've that most cyber jobs are relatively easy. The hardest part comes with other people, depending on what you're trying to do, haha. I have a video about this coming eventually :)
Lol 12 hours, that's so long
@@JoshMadakor yes sir, the physicality of standing for 12-13 hours, working in a hot kitchen and mental aspect of dealing with customers and staff dealing with all the madness of the kitchen. If you ever watch the Hulu show "The Bear", specially the first season, it deals with a lot of challenges in the kitchen. It is physically and mentally draining. I'm ready for a change so I'm looking at cyber course on your website or the Course Career for IT. I'm just trying to figure out which one I go for. Thanks again!
you definitely can bro
I appreciate you
Appreciate you appreciating me, haha
Any advice on someone looking into starting out in GRC?
I just completed the Google Cybersecurity course!
Great content as always!
UnixGuy GRC course
@@JohnWickIsAlive I’ll check it out, much appreciated actually!
Golden.
I can't wait to finished comptia sec+ and after i'll do pentesting..... i think to study red team thecniques ....i want to become an etichal hacker....but there are a lot of things to study xD
"Great channel! Thanks for the insightful content. Could you please provide the link to the Job Descriptions and prompt for ChatGPT, as mentioned in the video"
Thank you! And oh no, I can't find the prompt, but here are the job descriptions. I turned it into a spreadsheet instead: 💯 100 Entry Level (REMOTE) Cyber Jobs 💯

Very helpful as always, sir. I'd be interested to see your take similar to this on software engineering roles, if that's robust enough of a topic to cover 😁🌴 edit: glad to see more recent videos, was beginning to wonder when we'd see more! You make it digestible for new IT folks to approach, which I attribute to my success over the past year since leaving the military
Hey Josh...have you thought about selling a light version of the course with an option to upgrade later? What I mean by light is maybe removing the access to you and the internship components and only selling the vids...kinda like a coursera model.
Selling the light version for $50 to $100 could increase volume...where 1 out of 10 may buy the course at $500, 6 out of 10 may buy the light version and if 1 upgrades you make a profit. Just a thought😊 Keep up the great work otherwise
Thanks Josh for this. We appreciate what you’re doing for the Cybersecurity community. You’re surely making things easy for newbies. God bless you Sir!
God bless you Sir. Thanks for this material
My pleasure! Ty for watching!
Cisco has great training for free too. Much better than google
No not so much!
Any insights on WGU as you mentioned in the video for degrees? I have 1 year left at my public university (UTSA) for cybersecurity but heard good things about WGU. How long did it take you to finish? Any comparisons to an in person university?
Are you going to add more lessons on the course on things you haven’t cover ?
Guiding to get into cybersecurity ❌ selling self made course✅
Oh this video was about the most in-demand cybersecurity skills these days.
I think I delivered on that pretty well don't you? Any other thoughts?
Also, do you want to come on the channel and have a discussion? Just email me at the email address on my channel :)
What's up! I wanted to get your thoughts about the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) Exam since i didn't see it on your certs list. Thanks!
That's as entry level as it gets, so it won't be on job requirements other than entry level roles.
getting the job is just the start, it isn't the only thing that matters, it is like 10% at most
Big true, but it's one of the big hurdles
Josh did you see the testimonial a bout your course on Bearded IT Dad channel? The lady did everything you said to do and she got a job.
I just watched her interview and it is really great to know how effective and helpful the IT course (maybe not to all but) to majority of my students. I am really proud to where they are now :)
I got my associates degree in information security or cybersecurity but I never took IT certification exams.
For CISSP, what are the pre reqs? I m always confused if I should go for it as I have 10+ years of IT experience in Architecting cloud solutions and it includes security architecture experience as well
Cissp dews are 5 years working in 3 of the domains, 4 if you have another relevant cert or education. You don’t need to have a dedicated security job, just need 4-5 years experience in one of the cissp security domains :). I recommend getting it if you wanna boost employability to the max
Probably a dumb question but where do I find the prompt to copy and paste?
Hi josh quick question, i visited the site of the supposed course and you mentioned in a video there that the price will be 497-500 until May “2023”? Yet it’s still 497, though I don’t have any problem with that at all since I’m still a student (will be a big help) - if that really is still the price. Can I ask for a confirmation as to when exactly will this “497” price tag ends? Thanks in advance
Hi, my cyber course is priced $497. joshmadakor.tech/cyber
I already have a bachelors degree but it’s in English. Do you recommend I go for a MS in Cybersecurity at WGU or get another bachelors at WGU but in cybersecurity?
Currently enrolled in the cyber BS at WGU. the MS builds on the BS. Might be better off getting industry certs
❤
Unfortunately alot of the people writing job descriptions have no clue :(
@joshMadakor quick question, I finished A+, Network+ and security+ would you recommend me do your course first or Google cybersecurity first?
def do the google cyber course (joshmadakor.tech/google) first to build foundation then you can proceed with my cyber course. :)
@@JoshMadakor thank you, I appreciate you taking the time out to respond and help me out. I look forward to enrolling in your program. Cheers!
So do I need a degree or not? I have an associates in general studies and im taking google cyber security cert right now. I just wanna know, if i know everything I need to know and have the correct certs/skills, how hard will it be for me to get a interview vs someone with a degree?
Possible. The problems come when moving up. Think of it this way- if you're competing with someone else and everything's equal except the degree, who wins?
Hi, going to be joining WGU soon for CompSci! Have 15 classes hope i can finish before 6 months! What do u recommend for someone no experience in IT field to land a job in such a competitive market?
Certifications and job hop. For example if you have a cissp but no experience you won’t get a management role . Take a soc analyst job and then jump to a management position afterwards.
If you can't get a soc job, try looking into Help Desk roles as well.
@@negan4089does an internship count as experience?
Can I get a coupon code for your course Josh!
I would love to do your course. Maybe i could have afforded it this time last year but my country's currency has gotten worse against the dollar and the exchange rate has quadrupled. That's like 3 months salary now, lmao. All I can rely on now are free online courses. Damn I hate it here.
Sorry to hear that. Where are you from if I may ask?
Nigeria
how long is your course? how much experience will it give me with hands on experience in a time aspect if i was to put it on my resume? ( ie 6 months 3 months 1 year
The course is about 20 hours of video, which will probably take you 80-100 hours to complete! :)
Have some questions on your course. Is there an email to someone who can assist ? Thanks for all you do
Thanks for the comment! And yes, you can use the email on my channel page in TH-cam :), if I type it, the spammers will get it :(
one question: how are scripting skills more in demand when actually AI can soon code better than any human ?
when enrolling your course is it lifetime access or
yes, it's a one-time payment for a lifetime access. you can also access it anytime and anywhere :)
How would you rate Dakota State University's cyber operations bs? The curriculum seems like you'd get a good dose of computer science as well.
I would honestly rate it very highly, it just depends on how much time/money you want to spend because it's def gonna be more than WGU for instance. But the program itself and the school is very good I'd say
@@JoshMadakor yeah I’m trying to figure out the price difference and whether it makes sense. What would be the equivalent bs at wgu that teaches a similar curriculum?
@joshmadakor Are you still associated with the Cybersecurity course on LevelUp?
if you mean in Leveld, then yes! ^^ joshmadakor.tech/cyber
Awesome!! I am ready to proceed. Am I able to complete it within a month? Will we be able to talk at some point?
Quick question; I’m currently working full time in sales but I want to pivot into Tech.
Should I first: go all in on the Google cyber security course and ComprTIA security+ ?
OR
Should I try to finish the IT management degree in WGU?
Go for Google Cybersecurity Course for a foundational knowledge
finish first the IT degree and then if you want to enter in cybersecurity, i advise you take the google cyber course first ^^
@@JoshMadakor thanks boss, you’re the best!
I currently have CISSP
You get lots of recruiter spams? haha
@@JoshMadakor yes sometimes. I just recently updated my LinkedIn profile. I don’t have a bachelor degree but I have the certification.
I see other youtubers mention splunk but never explain what it actually is. seems like its a type of siem
Oh yeah. It’s comically expensive so I tend to use/talk about other ones lol
@@JoshMadakor so is it ideal to learn how to learn how to use that as well? Or is it the same as others?
Do I need a degree to get started in cybersecurity?
Short answer No. He talks about this in other videos.
I cant find the text file to follow along
Oh I turned it into a spreadsheet, here it is:

@@JoshMadakor thanks. You are a big motivation to me and my classmates, I’ve even started a blog since watching your vidoes, an after Im actually working in the field Ill start making videos for the TH-cam channel I made for when that time comes
Love your videos. The way you break everything down makes it very unique.
How do you see Ai playing a role in CS? What skills should we be trying to gain as far as Ai and cybersecurity?
Manually copied and pasted? No script / scraper? Oof. 😅
I def explored this, but indeed makes it challenging :)
Eww light mode
What’s funny is that I had AI write my first resume for my first job in cybersecurity and it worked perfectly. I’m great at my job and I’m constantly learning new skills but I suck at upselling myself because…… well I’m a nerd…
Change the cybersecurity course price to $50.
I see your point, but I have to disagree with you. First of all this is the "cheapest bootcamp" on the subject. They usually cost thousands of dollars. Second, they've invested hundreds of hours and put a lot of effort to create this comprehensive course which is current, btw. Finally and most importantly, if it's too inexpensive it becomes devalued and those who enroll will not appreciate and understand that there is no free lunch. You got to make some sacrifices in life to achieve your goals.
@@MrBoydgois it a begginer friendly course?
@@MrBoydgo well, i trust josh to make relevant course. but it's not a bootcamp -- it's an online course. i would buy it at $50. that's just my opinion. $500 is too expensive as an online course.
@rock-99 that's the going baseline rate for a course that balances time commitment with in demand skills. $499 is THE doorway/gate.
@@musicalprodigy1 have you taken the course?
