Thanks for being brutally honest, Kevin, I agree with your points. Disney is the worst I've seen it for the many years I've been attending. The magic doesn't feel there anymore. And Hollywood Studios is like stuck in limbo, the theming is so inconsistent.
Totally agree - I use to love the park, so many great memories. I think they gambled on the new trilogy, and with it not meeting expectations they kept going. Turn that thing into Tatooine and find the nostalgia that fans want. Also Runaway Railway is an insult to the hundreds of cast members over the years that made it my favorite ride in the park.
When i used to use tampons (i now use a menstrual cup) tampons would come unwrapped in my bag ALL THE TIME and especially in a place like disney, my small bag was jam packed. So i wouldnt be surprised if a woman went digging through her bag for her phone and accidentally pulled out a clean tampon wrapper and dropping it without seeing it.
Im convinced that 99% of the merchandise is being pulled from the shelves for the star wars hotel so those guests have the ability to buy everything batuu has on sale. They have been doing a really poor job of keeping up stock at disneyworld with supply chain issues and the bigger one local resellers who will only drive the prices way way up.
Funny, I don’t think we have ever had chips at DL, just the wrap. Honestly I don’t need any more carbs with that bread. That said, I’m willing to bet ours are more expensive. (I take it back, 12.99 both coasts. Usually in vlogs food seems less expensive in FL. That’s relative of course, it’s Disney plus food is more everywhere nowadays…) I did hear it’s a more serious supply problem in FL (way further from China for one thing) plus trouble getting workers. Hopefully it’ll clear up soon (hopefully wages will go up too!)
That’s a huge difference from Galaxy’s Edge here in Disneyland. Our shelves are full, must be a East Coast/West Coast supply chain issue. Disappointing regardless.
When we went in late December for our family vacation (it was our sons first Disney trip), they were out of one of the parts for the lightsaber at Savi’s (the one my husband wanted, unfortunately), they were out of the cheap lightsabers to make (for our son), and they didn’t have the droid bags (not the carry case, but the bags you can buy to carry the droids in). We had wanted the bags, but at least they still had the carrying cases when we were there. Overall, between the drastic price increases, limited stock, and the absolute mess that is the Disney Genie system… I really don’t know if/when we’ll be coming back. Honestly I think we’ll just go to Universal next time instead.
Same feeling here; i took my wife and two kids this last december and between the high prices, genie mess, ridiculous line waiting and lack of merch variaty, i don think we'll go back. Have you notice they dont sell mugs anymore? Every store in the park sells mostly the same.
On the Smugglers Run ride, my first thought was where did the rest of the Falcon go, as it seems to be flying through gaps big enough for only the cockpit? 🤔🇬🇧
I went to Magic Kingdom for 2 hours last Fri so crowded. Spent $9 for water and popcorn. I am so glad I am done with Disney after March!! All they care about is the CEO filling lining his greedy little paws with customers 💰💰💰, and putting out a less enjoyable experience for the customer!!! Bah bye DISNEY!!!
well there was talk of Iger coming back as ceo and you do know that you can go to any quick service and ask for a ice water for free? I just bring my canteen filled and when it gets low go fill it.

Great review with all the shortages around the world I am sure they were bound to run out of things. but as for the cleanliness that I was shocked to see. The last time I was at Disney world in the 1990s trash would not even hit the ground before a cast member would grab it.
Hey guys, The reason they don’t do the real Star Wars, is it somewhere in the contract Disney still have to pay 25% royalty fees to Lucas on the original characters. So what you’re watching is literally Disney bootlegging Star Wars to get around the royalty fees. Just look at it when you go on rise on the resistance, its literally Star Wars a new Hope but with Disney. It’s not Luke Skywalker it’s Ray it’s not R2 D2, it’s bb-8. It’s not abmiral at bar it’s blue Admiral Akbar, It’s not Han Solo , it’s fin/Poe. You can tell if this thing tanked that they can rehash this thing into the old Star Wars real quickly
I don't feel as sorry. They keep coming in tidal waves, Disney won't feel the financial pinch so they won't bother to change anything for the better. Eveyrone is complaining about the prices and lack of value and yet, still one tidal wave after another of visitors all because "They just gotta get that one laaaaasst Disney trip in before giving up." Yeah right, and then they're back next year juuuuuuuust in case they can't come back. Then they do it again. And again. And again. Wash, rinse, repeat!
@@largol33t1 I went with my dad this past spring break in a school related trip, and it being my first time, and the first time in 40 years that my dad went, we were hopeful of having an amazing experience considering the image that Disney has taken. While magic kingdom, and animal kingdom were great, the main part we were excited for was the Star Wars part. Here were some of my take always, Savis you really have to schedule about 6months in advance, definitely way before many families are sure about if they’re going. Second, most of the merchandise was completely sold out, or very limited, even though the park had only been open for about 3 1/2 hours. Third, the shop to purchase regular lightsabers’ cue system was horrendous. My dad and I scheduled on their wait list to get a lightsaber, about noon, and we didn’t get a text telling us to head on back until about 6. ( keep in mind the staff said that it would be an hour wait ) In the end, while I can’t not say that I didn’t have fun, the star wars was definitely a let down, not to mention with very little cast members, it didn’t give the Disney entertainment that is advertised to the general public.
While guests should be understanding of shortages due to the state of the world at the moment, Disney should be more proactive in addressing those shortages and keeping guests informed rather than forcing staff members to deal with that after the backlash kicks in. It's sad to see how guests are littering all over the place.
Universal: You don’t choose the Wand, the wand chooses you and you will be able to interact with the wizarding world. Disney: Umm, give me money for Droid and Lightsaber and then put it away, ok.
@@kiwikiwi2483 I mean, they have messed up before, I mean Fast and Furious was a Dumpster Fire and in my opinion, HHN doesn’t feel like what it was and is now feeling like it’s targeted towards kids. And in the past three years(besides HHN) Universal really hasn’t Done anything wrong and tries to do better. Disney isn’t doing that
@@kiwikiwi2483 i wonder why? Could it be that Disney is like three times the cost? I went to universal at Christmas and stayed at one of their deluxe resort for around $200 a night. Fast pass was included with the deluxe hotel. It was great. Meanwhile a Disney deluxe hotel is upwards of $600-700 a night and I have to pay for Genie+ on top of that. It is insane.
Kevin, Smugglers Run does have an alternate mode called "Chewbacca Mode." To access it everyone in your flight crew has to press their assigned button at the same time at the start of the ride. You'll know you're in Chewbacca Mode when you hear Chewy screaming. He screams throughout the ride in place of Hondo's directions
I remember being at WDW in 1992 and my friend and I both saying, "Having a whole area for Star Wars would be a perfect fit for Disney!" but then we got this planet we've never heard of and no classic characters or locations and it's like, "This isn't really Star Wars at all." But I personally don't care at all about merchandise, I avoid gift shops when I am at Disney, so to have just two attractions and no classic characters is really a complete bummer.
No interest in gift shops and merch at the parks?? Current Disney management would tell you to piss right off. That's their entire focus: accessorizing the rube's... uh... I mean guest's experience. You aren't making them money.
@@dan_hitchman007 If there is a long gap between trips, I buy the classic, old school Mickey Mouse t-shirt at the Magic Kingdom on each visit and that's it. The rest of the time I completely avoid gift shops. The only "Disney merch" I own is a Pinocchio bobble-head and a Jiminy Cricket lapel pin.
Disney in general seems to be cutting cost at the expense of guest experience while also raising prices to give them as much profit as possible. Under current leadership this is going to continue until guests stop buying into it and they start to see their profits drop. It's going to continue to get worse, we're only at the beginning of these changes.
It is sad...I went last week with my children and grandchildren to Disney.....and was surprised to see so little upgrade in the park..I have been to the Magic Kingdom many times over my lifetime and it stunned me to see almost all of the same attractions that I first enjoyed in 1973 at my first visit.....The cast member excitement of interacting with the crowds was minimal ...the MAGIC that Disney once had is gone .....the money that they extort from you must go into the Hotels or Movies ....because the Park experience was dull.......so sorry for the grand kids ...they left the Park with no good vibe ...like I did for years with my kids.....so long Disney...
Idk I went last year and had that same magic it did when I had gone 20 years earlier. My son had a blast, maybe it’s changed in a year idk, we’re going again towards the end of the year so I guess I’ll see
They’ve laid so many may people off. I think that’s why we’re seeing so much trash, low quality food, and chipping paint. Usually artists come in at night to touch up. Wouldn’t be surprised if they’re laid off too.
I heard that they increased the food prices as well. lol You know quite well all of the higher ups are getting normal wages and bonuses etc. Heaven forbid they get lower salaries. greedy fkers.
I went to Galaxy's Edge about a week ago for a Field Trip. It was pretty fine, but it definitely seemed a bit cheap. Floors, walls, etc were all made of some rough rubber or something close to that. You'd expect that they'd have some type of slate or something instead of installing weird rubber-y walkways.
You can see why Disney cares about money, they sell you cheap junk for a ridiculous price, and once it’s not working... they’re expecting you to buy a new one
Okay. As a business owner let me speak in my experience. I have been have MORE and MORE trouble keeping my shelves stocked. I have been put into the situation repeatedly where I have to either have something missing from my shelves or replace it with a cheaper (and for whatever reason mote readily available) alternative. I'd rather apologize and put someone on a waiting list than sell them an inferior product. Between boats being stuck in bays because it's taking so long to get stuff I'm through and processed, to companies not being able to get containers or space on ships, or even for my made in America products there is worldwide shortages on the basic material needed to make those products. It's been a mess. Everytime I go to put an order in I just have my highlighter ready to mark the items that are backordered. I'm sure Disney has to be being affected by these same issues.
Lol I have a toy lightsaber I bought for $10 20 years ago, original batteries, still works. The plastic is even broken on the light part as it lived in my car during my 20's and is 20 years old and it still works.
Went to GE on Feb 15th and happy to say the Savi saber cases are back with all parts available for the saber build minus the specialty pommels. Shortages are affecting all industries. I do wish Disney would handle these better, but these are happening in every walk of life.
I think what Disney is failing to understand just because it looks cool doesn’t mean the quality is there. I’m not gonna spend thousands of dollars and take time off work for something that looks cool on the outside but when I really get in there the quality just isn’t there. I can get recipes for basically every Star Wars drink and food provided online and make it myself for less cost. I can buy everything they sell. And if I can get the exact same product and replicas they sell cheaper and better quality online then I am. And save myself thousands in the process.
What did they expect.. $400 to build a toy droid, overprised build your own toy lightsaber.. no good rides.. is it any surprise they're failing to draw in the crowds anymore. Not to mention I'd have to take out a mortgage on my house just to afford your average Disney vacation..
This makes me so upset that di$ney just does not care anymore. They under delivered with galaxy’s edge, they are replacing the cases with plain bags, and they are getting lazy. The magic is going away replaced by money just go to universal.
I would agree if Universal could get their newer rides running. Velicicoaster was constantly breaking down and from what I read it's because the wheels on it get too hot and break so they need cooldown periods. The most expensive coaster ever built is in their Harry Potter land and it was closed the entire three days I was down there. It amazes me they can spend so much to build new rides only to not be able to run them. How did they not check these things before it got greenlit?
This guy is being over dramatic for content. I went and it was an amazing experience. And usually when there isn’t a supply crisis, everything is in stock
I won’t ever give Disney my money again. I’m going to universal any time I go to a theme park at Orlando. I refuse to go back to any Disney owned property until either they change their money hungry nickel and dime ways or the new CEO is fired.
It's heartbreaking to see them milking beloved franchises to death like this.. it's like an enemy is targeting our heroes and history to trash them all as a tactic to weaken our morale.
Disneyland is also going down hill. They just had a big loss of talent moving from LA to Florida. Now the trash and peeling paint and animatronics not working. It feels like Disney parks are going down hill.
Galaxies Edge is the Morocco pavilion with space ships. They have a Millennium Falcon ride with no Han or Chewbacca which makes sense a crappy bar with disgusting food and a nice glass of milk in 100 degree weather.
Went to HS mid January. My 2 optimistic friends and I love to ride as many rides as possible. We had early entry and stayed till 10pm. We could only ride 3 rides. Between Rise ending up being a 7.5 hour wait, Rockin Rollercoaster and Tower being down all day, the park was just over crowded with people over paying for everything that was sadly similar to your experience, Kev.... and nobody was happy. The Guest Relations line was winding around the corner on by Hollywood and Dine when we left at 10. We talked with guest relations at Animal Kingdom the next day and the cast member said, "you really should have waited in line for guest relations at HS last night". As a consolation, they did give us 2 fast passes to use on a limited list of rides in Magic Kingdom on our last day in the parks... It was tough to be optimistic about it. Sadly I've never had a Disney experience like that and what made it look SUPER BAD was the day before we went to Universal. Both Universal Parks open to close, we rode EVERY. RIDE. We went back and rode our favs(Velocicoaster, Hagrid's, and Forbidden Journey) twice. Hard to say when/if this New England girl will shell out to go back honestly.
The thing is January is usually less crowded then what it has been. both disney and universal. I went to in September to wdw and uni. snagged a resistance queue luckily, maybe waited 30 mins. What I dont like about Hagrid's its a problematic coaster, constantly down and the day i was there it was closed all day. But it was reasonable times all around that time. I wonder why its been so busy lately.
That's so sad! The same happened to me except it was the other way around. We were at Universal and velocicoaster was down all day. I came to ride that after all! Guest relations hooked us up with passes to come back the next day! I'm staying away from Disney until Tron and Gaurdians is complete... And I pray to God they learn how to treat their employees by then so the trip isn't a complete drag.
Not my experience at all from last week. Awesome. My Vader saber is flawless. Rise of the Resistance was UNREAL (11/10). Products everywhere. Have fun with it.
The issue of rise of the resistance is that they only let a limited amount of people in per day I’ve been there twice and have never been able to get in I’ve even waited on my phone and tried to get tickets right when the ticket reservations open but have never been able to get any extremely disappointing i did watch a video and it does look cool
DISNEY is now very much on a downward trajectory if the people who absolutely loved the place are starting to notice the MAJOR FLAWS, and also realize that they are being well and truly ripped off. THEY NEED TO make radical changes going forward, not just in the parks but in attitude also, BECAUSE people like myself are going to refuse to pay . My family and I have been going to Florida and the parks since 1996 we used to go every other year, our last visit was in 2019, and as a family we all agreed that the experience was no longer worth the expense. WE ARE FROM THE UK , and to go to Florida and the parks we have to spend a lot, we don't mind if we feel like we are getting our moneys worth, 2017 was the first time that we started to really feel the disappointment, 2019 just reaffirmed that opinion.
This video terrified me before my family and I went to galaxy's edge, but I was relieved to see that many of the issues were gone like the lightsaber shortage and the food was fixed.
Went this last summer. When I was watching and you had checked to see if your saber still worked I immediately went to go check mine as well. It's been sitting on my shelf no damage to it whatsoever I changed the batteries to fresh pair etc. Refuses to turn on. Wtf Disney.
Hello, first time viewer here. -One of the reasons why I’ve always been grateful for living in a nice city in California is its weather. Now, I can add, it’s because we have more merchandise than Florida and other parts of the country at the time. (Smiling) -The Disneyland Neighbor
We went in mid January and there was so much stuff out of stock, and a ton of duplicates with no variety. I hope its better when we go back, but I still love it. Thanks for the video.
@@Equalsundew we went back in mid February and the shelves were stocked much better, but if there is something you are really looking for yo might want to shop for it when you get to the park. I missed out on a 50th anniversary cup I wanted and they were all out by lunch. Have fun.
I appreciate your honest take on Star wars Disney park. Quite a disappointment that there's no carrying case for the lightsaber there is no excuse for that.
Galaxy's Edge is a failure. It's nothing but a shopping mall dressed in the image of Disney's version of Star Wars. The shops are full of overpriced cheap garbage products and clothing items that you can probably get for less on eBay. Ridiculously long waiting times for underwhelming rides. You don't feel like you are emersed in the world of Star Wars because there is practically nothing of actual Star Wars there. It is a sad thing to witness because it could have been so much better.
When I went to Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge back in December, they had practically all of the lightsabers and most of the shops were fully stocked, it's just makes me sad that Disney World isn't getting the same kind of treatment. Really does look bad for Disney unfortunately.
WAIT A SEC THAT PIN TRADING PLACE THAT LOOKED LIKE A SABER FORGE (kinda of) WAS *SUPPOSED TO BE ONE* a little before it became 2022 we went to disney and while we were there it turned 2022, back then (weird considering its been close to only 4 months by now) stuff was in stock but not the saber forge outside that ride i really liked, the droid depot was packed but i think less than that, and im like 80% sure they had lightsabers in stock that werent savis workshop
We went Feb 19th they were fully stocked. The only issue with the five light sabers we got was Windu‘s doesn’t keep its color. Crazy how thousands of people daily can deplete your stock. Especially with a shipping crisis..
Other huge issues at WDW….Encanto is biggest hit since frozen yet have No Maribel character at any WDW park….basically no Encanto presence at all…what are they thinking
I couldn’t imagine spending the kind of money for a trip like that and getting fed a hotdog in a pita with ruffle chips. The whole attraction looks like a hollow ripoff... sorta like the new movies.
I noticed the amount of trash in Disneyland too when I went towards the end of last year. It’s probably due to staff shortage, but something definitely feels off about the parks currently
I used to be a Disney fan for decades and me and my husband used to always visit the parks what I've seen here is a new level of subpar Disney has gotten so lazy and now they coast off of their name and now give you a lesser experience the park looks dirtier outdated it's disheartening to see what Disney has become
They're so greedy they don't even realize their reputation is ruined among some fans. I hear "Disney" I think of a big bald exec in a $2,000 suit charging guests $20 for a tiny souvenir keychain in their gift shops and $20 for a 12 oz soft drink.
@@largol33t1 basically and what gives me an aneurysm is the fact that some people still happily go and spend their money at a subpar place what they're really doing is giving Universal Studios more admission there cheaper their rides and atmosphere is cleaner and more developed they care about their customers where Disney wants to price out us regular people and only want the elite to spend money on their garbage those lightsabers cost 200 bucks you can't play with them in the park and they stopped working after like a day they're just con artist fancy con artist

I think Disney is a g-damned MESS!!!! I watch these videos to remind myself why I won’t be returning to DisneyWorld any time soon. The price gouging and declination of quality are an atrocity for the prices park-goers must pay. I’m happy I got to enjoy DisneyWorld AND Disneyland back before they were desecrated by the money-hungry likes of Bob Chapek. And before Disney DESTROYED Star Wars for anybody old enough to have owned a Kenner “Early Bird Set”, or to have seen any of the OT during it’s first theatrical runs. Disney will need to ratchet the quality back up, and lower the prices back down, before I’ll ever visit again. People in this world have spent the last two years GETTING ABUSED by the world around them. The “Happiest Place On Earth” should never be a further source of abuse. Yet, that is EXACTLY what it appears is going on.
We’ve just come back, last went in 2016 and we’ve been a few times. Disney has changed so much with attitudes to guests, like they know they have you by the balls! We tried to use a general fast pass for slinky dog but as it was a popular ride told us we couldn’t and turned our kids away, when years ago they would have just let us in, especially since we had kids. Stock wasn’t an issue when we went, but were disappointed with the reservation at savis being months and the ride que times, Tower of terror was 2 hours all day. The new genie plus isn’t as good as the old fast pass system either considering after 12pm you can’t get a fast pass for the popular rides.
So you had the patch green on walking around before you went to the first shop/stand at 6:20. Then before you go into Dok Ondar’s at 7:50 it’s missing. So it seems like it came off while you were sitting down and eating. Maybe it fell out when you set down/picked up the jacket. Still sucks and no excuse for that lack of quality but that’s where it seems to have come off.
I just feel universal have just kept the Wizarding world to a high standard , where galaxy’s edge was never as good as it was promoted , I still love rise of the resistance though
The problem with Universal is outside of the Harry Potter and Jurassic World stuff there isn't much. We did both parks in one day easily. The things they spent their money on are great, I'm not a Harry Potter fan but was very impressed. The rest of the parks though are definitely showing age.

Thanks for being brutally honest, Kevin, I agree with your points. Disney is the worst I've seen it for the many years I've been attending. The magic doesn't feel there anymore. And Hollywood Studios is like stuck in limbo, the theming is so inconsistent.
If Universal CONTINUES its current course without letting supply/quality issues plague them, they'll beat Disney for sure.
Star Wars has killed Disney.
@@rsvihla Disney has killed Disney.
I agree completely. It breaks my heart
I hate when that happens!
We were there last week and the shelves were fully stocked and all lightsabers were available (minus kestis)
They honestly need to just drop the overpriced Star Wars hotel. Sounds like they are having trouble filling the rooms anyway.
That's freaking gross leaving tampon wrappers on the ground like that

I feel like it would be better if they just charged less and left the chips out. This is a bit ridiculous
Charge less? Are you out of your mind?!

Happiest place on earth shouldn’t have merchandise stock issues. I’m surprised that such a big company is leaving such minor problems unfixed
Every store in the park sells mostly the same.
congrats for be wise. only if other do this they change
Well there’s your problem. You went during the holiday season and tried to get a high demand item.
lol my build your own lightsaber broke too. They placed really shotty solders with no retention on the wires to the switch. So upsetting.
On the Smugglers Run ride, my first thought was where did the rest of the Falcon go, as it seems to be flying through gaps big enough for only the cockpit? 🤔🇬🇧
To be fair, it might just be the perspective and how objects look smaller than they actually are, including the tight spaces and turns.

All this makes me want to take an exciting trip to the 20th century, when Disney was awesome.
Disney literally has slaves. Slaves. Rename them if you must, their slaves abroad.
Disney truly is garbage these days.
Great review with all the shortages around the world I am sure they were bound to run out of things. but as for the cleanliness that I was shocked to see. The last time I was at Disney world in the 1990s trash would not even hit the ground before a cast member would grab it.
Your Light Sabre is the perfect metaphor for the Star Wars Franchise with Disney
a family member saw soiled diapers, people cutting lines, and apparently a fight
This is so crazy, and I really feel sorry for guest that paided for the downgraded experience.

My son had a blast, maybe it’s changed in a year idk, we’re going again towards the end of the year so I guess I’ll see
The carrying case situation is the most egregious foray into apathy I have seen from them so far. Wow.
I doubt you have the same level of purchasing power for your business that Disney does.
Lol I have a toy lightsaber I bought for $10 20 years ago, original batteries, still works. The plastic is even broken on the light part as it lived in my car during my 20's and is 20 years old and it still works.

Was there earlier today. Everything was fully stoked. I might update this when I go back in a few days.

It's heartbreaking to see them milking beloved franchises to death like this.. it's like an enemy is targeting our heroes and history to trash them all as a tactic to weaken our morale.
Its working. Its gotten to a point where I swore off both Star Wars and Marvel.
So at full stock they carry things like the phantom princess Leia lightsaber?
Hard to say when/if this New England girl will shell out to go back honestly.
that is why you play the austic card you can get into disney for free
and you don''t have to wait in line you can take the disabled line

When I went to Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge back in December, they had practically all of the lightsabers and most of the shops were fully stocked, it's just makes me sad that Disney World isn't getting the same kind of treatment. Really does look bad for Disney unfortunately.

If there is a Disney logo present then it isn't Star Wars. That easily sums up my opinion.
Does anyone know if the lightsaber bag thing also for Disneyland CA?
whats sad is i was just there in mid february and everything was fully stocked everywhere.
Again this shows that Disney is facing financial collapse, and I think Disney should sell Lucasfilm.
Lol, all he does it eat, explains the three chins.
You must have gone during a bad time. When I went they had the legacy lightsabers restocked as well as the resistance outfitters
I went last week. Everything seems to be in stock
@@brianbenoit9916 Nintendo land and epic universe is being built at universal by 2025-2026.
@@jalenavinger6911 which means they’ll continue to let the other things go down in quality and continue to only focus on the new things.
Disney has always been a rip off.
I'm not really surprised. During the pandemic staffing was nuts. So was getting supplies shipped in. Allot of witch was literally on a slow boat from China. They probably had the stock for boba but had to wait until the release to put it out. Give it time.
That saber is not from Disney. The graflex activation is on the clamp.
Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland was a fail. My last trip there I didn’t even care if we went into that area. The attractions are so lacking.
