ahhhh, I wish I have a studio like that. I love the lights, bass guitars in the background. I could only wish for it but hopefully one day.... thanks for the lesson, it's awesum

Nice lesson for the intermediate bass players out there. Many bass players that can play well, but not many are good at teaching other players (including myself).
“IN MY SHOES” Thank you Scott for all the brilliant videos. Would love if you can do Running In The Family by Level 42 tutorial or Marcus Miller’s Never too Much. Thank you! Looking forward to win the CD… yay!
My pleasure - thank YOU! Just out of interest, what do you think of the way I'm editing the videos lately compared to the older vids? I'm trying not make them more 'to the point' but without losing the personality I try and keep in. P.S. Let me know how how you get on with that 4th bar... ;)
@@ScottWhitley The way you are now editing is brilliant, far more to the point. This has actually improved your persona, as you now come across 'very punchy' which really improves your likability & makes for great entertainment. Especially for someone like myself who will rewind & repeat the video again & again. Its now 'bang bang punch'... If that makes sense. As for bar 4. I have chickened out & gone quivering behind the curtains & replaced it for the easier version. However, I will persist with the complicated fingering as it sounds great when you do it... So I'll practice it a little bit here & there. Thank you again for the great Vids.
@@skippto Thanks for that feedback - it actually means more than you can imagine! I've been working really hard to achieve the presentation and so to hear this is amazing!! That's the way re the 4th bar - just keep coming back to it. Thanks again! Scott.

I have a CD you did a long time ago because ( Colin Jones ) gave it to me as a keen up/ slap on the backside. on it you comprehensively and totally accuratley did Mark Kings 1988( ?) live at wembly solo. is there any chance at all you could do an instuctional video of that? ( big ask but would love to know) love your stuff Scott. and follow it loads ( cant belive you depped for me once with Outer Limits!! absolutley blown away ( as were the band) good man Scott
@@ScottWhitley haven't seen many Warwick short scale bass guitars. That must be a custom short scale. Love your lessons. Thanks for your time and effort. 👍👍🍻
Obviously a Warwick and short scale and a version of the Corvette, but which version is that? Is it a custom or is it a production model? Great video; I've always loved this song and solo.
Hi Christocr! It's a Warwick FNA Corvette - a pretty old one too. It's on loan to me (I neede something with a MM pickup for that LJ tone). It's actually a long scale but Warwick have historically offered short scale options (never actually owned one). Thanks re the video -.muxch appreciated! Yeah - it's an awesome tune! Keep in touch, Scott.
Would lighter strings and lower action make this easier , the left hand mute seems to be the hardest bit to do without hitting the strings so they Don't ring out a note...... Signed Slightly confused pick player😊
Hi Michael! A low action helps a lot, as do light strings. Before that it's worth checking the nut slots are cut low enough as this makes a HUGE difference - not just for the left hand slap, but for playing in general! :)
@@ScottWhitley less furious? absolutely! the slap bass part on the piccolo bass solo of trust in me (y'know that one!!!) : not so furious but very accurate, for instance.

OMG if I live 20 more years I might get there! You're a monster like Louis was. Man Bros' Johnson could play.
Wow, very kind words indeed...thank you so much Kev and yes, they sure could!! Cheers, Scott.
The bar 4 workaround is absolutely genius
Fantastic Scott this is excellent very helpful, slapping on 6 string bass is a bit challenging.
Thank you for making sense of this Scott in a simple slow manor. Simple = Can now play. Brilliant sir
Glad it helped Paul! 🙂
I love watching this over and over and working through it. So well done, Scott. AND the "It sounds like this" is really great.
Thanks Jeff - very much appreciated. :-)
