    I like twins gloves, a little on the big side when it comes to the outer dimensions. But the handbox is nice and tight on the outside without being overly tight.

    Had those Fairtex gloves for 9 years. Trained 5-6 days a week, beat the crap out of them, finally put a hole in them a couple months ago. Bought them again, dunno if I'll ever find better quality. A close friend had a pair of Hayabusas that cost twice as much and they started to rip after two years or so.

      Thanks for the comment HavokStrifeX.
      Wow! I hope my gloves last that long. 9 years is a great life for a pair of gloves, especially as the more expensive Hayabusa gloves only lasted a couple of years

    I've never owned Fairtex, but what you talked about the interior feeling big and the lack of wrist support is the reason I'll probably never get them.
    I've owned FightingSports.com's knock-off of Windy and more recently Hayabusa, and both are good for wrist support, especially the Hayabusa.

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point! The style of these are more of a Thai glove which I think makes them better for clinch work. Personally I prefer the shorter cuff and the roomier inside as this makes them a perfect fit with my hand wraps. But you’re right, this may not be for everyone. Never tried Windy or Hayabusa gloves but have heard good things about them :)

    • @RafaelMedia
      @RafaelMedia 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Fairtex BGV9 is Fairtex's take on a Mexican style boxing gloves, it has a longer cuff than the standard Fairtex Muay Thai BGV1 in the video. Also the Fairtex BGV9's have grip bars as well which is standard on most boxing gloves, it is good for sparring, training, and bag work.

    • @sanderborup4992

      the lack of wrist support is on purpose, so it's easier to clinch and catch kick etc.

      That's a shame punkNdrunk. Yeah Fairtex are usually great quality, but the gloves may not be for everyone. I found these a bit stiff and tough at first but it didn't take long to break them in. I've never tried the Twins gloves but I've heard they're great 🙂👍

    I recently purchased my RED BGV1 size 12 as well so im sooooo happy but they feel quite stiff (i know they havent been broked in yet ) but the padding man....i am not sure if the padding will be enought for like bag work ? whats your experience Johnny with your 12s on bag ???thanx man

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Lucas True , that's great that you went for these and are happy 😃👍🏻. Don't worry about them being stiff, it's just cos they're new and need breaking in. Mine were exactly same at first but now I love them. Also they do seem a bit thin on the padding compared to my old gloves, but this is actually better for me as I always wear hand wraps for extra support and this also gives me the extra padding. This is perfect for me and I can still wallop the pads and bag really hard with no problems 🙂

    I have 140z venum challenger my first pair of gloves I keep looking at these on the website i just don't want them to be too small for my hands but i have smaller hands so would probably be okay.

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find that the overall glove is a lot smaller than my previous gloves (my previous ones felt like big padded pillows in comparison), but the inside is quite roomy. I need to wear hand wraps for the additional support. I have worn them without wraps occasionally and they are fine, they just feel a little loose without the wraps. They are fantastic gloves 🙂

    Do i need to follow the boxing glove sizing charts? I'm overweight for my height. That's one reason why i'm doing functional training and will be adding boxing or Muay Thai in my weight loss program. Mostly bag and pad work. I'm planning to get 10oz or 12oz Fairtex BGV1.

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jerohm Jallorina, I'm 175 pounds and the glove size charts say I should be going for 16oz but I find that they are overkill for what I do (mostly training and not much sparring). I decided to go for the 12oz and they fit nicely and are great for training, pad work and the occasional light sparring

    Would you recommend these over the Hayabusa t3

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Pnut Menger, sorry mate I've never tried the Hayabusa t3 so I can't really compare.
      The Hayabusa t3 gloves are boxing gloves, where as the Fairtex BGV1 are more of a Thai glove, which I love for clinch work

    • @deedang1607
      @deedang1607 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I have a pair of hayabusa 16 oz T3. The T3 offer excellent wrist support and knuckle cushion. If you're a heavy hitter or have some pain from punching, I recommend the T3. Do note that the T3 inner lining is very prone to tear from abrasive material, so if the exposed velcro from your hand wraps touch the inside of the T3, it will wear it out. The fairtex uses a slippery inner linning that is prone to move and bunch up a little. The Fairtex has a smaller cuff which makes elbows easier with a slimmer profile. Fairtex is great for pad or mitt work, but for potential sparring between the two gloves I suggest the T3. The inside of the Fairtex is hollow, while the T3 is a very tight fit. The padding on the Fairtex is more on the side and less on the knuckle, so its great for those that have conditioned hands. the T3 offer full 360 padding and support but they are bulkier. My thing is if you plan just to do bag and mitt work, either is fine. But if you ever plan to spar, I highly recommend the T3, your knuckles well pierce through with the fairtex while the T3 will pad it. So your sparring partner may appreciate it more with the T3. Depends what you plan to use it for.

    The BGV1 is a punching fighters glove which transfer force to your opponent but sacrifice hand protection. Looking at my first fight in a month so want to buy some quality gloves for fighting at 10oz. It's a toss up between these and the Twins BGVL-3's.
    My hands aren't the best in terms of injury resistance but my jab is my best weapon and will be relying on that more than kicks. I've got cheap 16, 14 and 12oz gloves for pad / bag work and sparring which do the job. Would be nice to be able to use some 10oz on the heavy bag to help with hand conditioning which is why I might go for the Twins.

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302

      I would agree that these Fairtex gloves help generate powerful punches, but I would definitely recommend using handwraps with them for the added support. I've never tried the Twins BGVL-3's so I can't really comment on them, but one of my pals has the Twins and says they are also great gloves. Whichever you decide to go for, the Twins or the Fairtex, I'm sure you'll be investing in some really good quality gloves.Good luck with your first fight Marcus 🙂👍🏻🥊👊🏻

      These are the non-breathable gloves. I'm not entirely sure if there is a difference in size between the breathable and non-breathable gloves. All i know is that the non-breathable gloves have a leather palm, and the breathable have a mesh bar and grip bar.

    Nice vídeo bro, how is the glove padding ? like winning (very padded) or Cleto Reyes (for punchers)
    Sorry for my english, greetings from México !

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Draaguun, I'm glad you liked the video. These gloves aren't very padded at all. Not sure if it's because they're Muay Thai style gloves, but I prefer them this way. The padding is sufficient, but not too much. This makes putting the gloves on and taking them off easier, and also makes cleaning the inside easier.
      My old gloves were very padded and felt like huge pillows on my hands.
      Sorry I've not tried Winning or Cleto Reyes so I can't compare.

    • @Draaguun
      @Draaguun 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      JohnnyBoy Kickboxer thanks for answering, how is the wrist support ?

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem Draaguun. As these are Thai gloves they are shorter in length than regular boxing gloves because Thai fighters need the extra movement for clinches. I actually prefer this (plus it makes it easier to get them on and off when swapping between pads and gloves), but it does mean that there isn't quite as much wrist support as regular boxing gloves.
      I'd definitely recommend wearing hand wraps for the additional support.

    • @amck72
      @amck72 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The majority of Muay Thai style gloves tend to have less padding because they want you to be able to grab your opponent on their shoulders so you can do the knee clinches and turn your opponent. They knew what they were doing in their design. Boxing gloves have more padding because of the nature of the sport.

  • @bosshugo2406
    @bosshugo2406 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1. your gloves are too small in Size. you should be about 14 oz for sparring and protecting your partner. 2. the bgv1 is way too big inside, its not good for protecting your hands. they are only good for clinching nothing else.

    • @johnnyboykickboxer8302
      @johnnyboykickboxer8302  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      12oz are fine for all round training, bag work and the very occasional light sparring (I do use 14oz for sparring. I prefer that they have plenty of room inside as they easily accommodate wraps. These are more of a Thai boxing glove and so the design makes them perfect for clinching.

    • @winybiny
      @winybiny 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the size of the glove depends on the size of the fighter. A 60 kg minus guy shouldn't be wearing 14-16 ozs.
